general Liberal or Conservative?

I am extremely liberal and left wing on practically all my opinions. I'm fiscally liberal and socially liberal.

It's ironic because I was extremely Republican and a fervent supporter of George W. Bush. But then I went to college and things changed.

I majored in Mass Media, both focusing on production and theory/politics of Mass Media and what I learned pushed me to become a bit on the extreme left.

My brother (who went to a different college; Gonzaga) was also a hard core republican. He came back a Communist after majoring in Political Science. Haha And he's doing quite well currently in his political career now. So watch out, world. lol

I'm not that extreme and rather identify as a socialist, but that's a bit off topic.

But yeah, college. It changed us from being very conservative to very liberal, despite being attending schools on opposite sides of the country.

We were anti-gay, anti-immigration, anti-tax increase. Anti-left, basically. We were Conservative to the max and on the extreme right.

I'd rather not say. There may be a couple users here who can take an educated guess, based on things I've said before, but I would prefer to wait until I am more experienced and mature to define myself for certain.

After all, people change.

Neither, I am a libertarian which for those who are unfamiliar is commonly defined as being fiscally conservative and socially liberal which is kind of true but somewhat over simplified. Theoretically conservatives are supposed to be for limited government involvement in financial matters and therefore favoring greater fiscal liberty though lower taxes and less over regulations but as we have seen from so called conservatives today being just as much in favor of big government as liberals this is clearly not the case. Theoretically liberals are for greater social freedom but as we see from them just as eagerly supporting the police state as the so called conservatives, support forcibly medicating people along with so called conservatives (the vaccine force bill in California), and draconian nanny state measures like soda and trans fat bans in some cities.

The definitions of "liberal" and "conservative" have changed a great deal over the years and much of this change has not exactly been good. It seems that we are increasingly moving to the worst of both worlds as the state is increasingly becoming like a cult with citizens instead of viewing government as a necessary evil are viewing it as a mix of Mother Teresa and Santa Claus when giving the government such power opens the door to more and more corruption and loss of liberty. I could care less about what is "liberal" or "conservative" but do care about right and wrong and tipping the scales away from tyranny toward liberty.

I don't have enough experience to say as of right now what my political affiliation is, but I do find myself agreeing far more with liberals than conservatives, especially because conservatives here are horrible...

I'm a liberal.  I'm liberal because I find that it is most morally correct and beneficial to society. Always been a liberal, well as long as I was old enough to have a political opinion. I've only gotten more liberal as I've become older.  For example, I used to not have a problem with the death penalty, but learning more about it and how not guilty people have been killed and how torturous it is I changed my mind. Though I still think some people deserve to die...I found that I'm much more misanthropic than other liberals.

I'm classified as a Democratic Socialist I believe; so very liberal by British standards and quite liberal by my adopted home nation of New Zealand's standards. Generally New Zealand is a much more left-wing nation compared with my native Britain; probably the most left-leaning majority-English-speaking nation in the world.

My family has also been liberal/democratic socialist for generations. My parents did their best to make I had a politically-unbiased childhood but I made my way to the same camp of my own accord.

I have no problem with conservatives and right-wingers as people, but sometimes the things they say, political or not, scare me a bit  :fluttershy:

Hey there :)

As your topic has little to do with anything brony related and more to do with personal political preferences for people here on the forums, I have moved your topic to a more appropriate section

As to participate in the topic, if I have to choose between being a liberal or a conservative, I am a far right conservative, even though I believe in Welfare.

I'm decisively liberal. There's no getting around it. I could not, in good consciousness, even begin to associate with conservatism, because it has made itself all about fighting everything I am, as well as minorities who I'm not a part of that do not deserve the hate/discrimination (people of color, Muslims, transgender people, etc.). No issue is black and white, but conservatism is outside of the realm of reality on any of these matters.
