What if the ponies stood and walked on 2 legs instead of all 4?

You mean like the baby pinkie pie toy?

It'd be extremely awkward because they aren't anthropomorphic, a four legged animal walking on their hind legs just doesn't work. For example, this is pinkie pie standing on all fours in Hearth's Warming Eve:

As you can see, she looks like a dog on it's hind legs, and she was only able to do so for 4 seconds before falling back down on all fours. In order for them to walk upright, they'd need a humanoid form, but since they don't, it just wouldn't work.

to quote animal farm 4 legs good 2 legs bad

All the ponies walked on their hind legs, and started utilizing their front hooves to held tools. In six generations their civilization started to change, to a better path

And Lyra would spent her time to learn how to walk with four hooves

are you saying lyra is a contrarian

umm, no, 3.5 was the worst. it was 'o god my eyes' awful, whereas gen 2 was just bad.

Sure we're quick to dismiss the notion of equines on 2 legs but what about Quick-Draw McGraw? See, not to farfetched now is it. Specially when you think, how does he even hold that gun?

Then we would all be Furries.

"Anthropomorphic" doesn't neccissarly mean "walk on two legs". It means they have human features and the ponies clearly have that. So, technacally, bronies are very VERY similar to furries. Not to mention, the ponies walk on two legs sometimes.
