As mentioned in the video, AMD has held a financial briefing. They provide the GPU for the Wii U as well as the APUs for PS4 and Xbox One, and has been heavily rumored to be providing the hardware for Codename NX, which has been rumored to launch this year.

Well in the video, CEO Lisa T. Su basically confirmed it. Specifically discussing consoles and their new revenue from them, and as heard in the linked video, she states " new revenue will come from from this space will come from a new semicustom SoC design launching in the second half of 2916". The only logical hardware would be NX.

So a November 2016 launch for NX is all but guaranteed. This is irrefutable evidence that I don't think anyone can really argue against. This Christmas we will see a shiny new Nintendo system on store shelves.

AMD generally makes the hardware for game consoles a lot due to the cheaper cost of their chips. I've been following the video game industry for a while, and I have to say while I am definitely thinking the NX will hit in 2016, I don't think this is really a confirmation of the NX. Remember SoCs are systems on a chip, and a lot of the time when a redesign of a console comes out, it requires a new SoC. Sony released a PS2 with a slightly faster processor down the road, so this isn't really a confirmation of NX.

And what about VR. That's a thing happening this year and Sony are looking to make their own VR headset. That quote could mean all sorts of things. From what I heard Nintendo sent out the development kits in 2015. Two years is the minimum amount of time it takes to make games these days. So I'm still convinced it's 2017.

No matter how hard I try these ponies will simply never leave me.

I'm still skeptical that it won't be Wii U 2.0.

Kimishima already said that the NX won't be related to the Wii brand in any way so that should be a start

Not sure if this truly is any sort of confirmation as it seems really vague and broad, but if the NX does come out this year, I can't say that I am excited for it. After the Wii being a huge disappointment and the Wii U pretty much a third party disaster, Nintendo has not given me any sort of confidence.

Yeah and I like that, but I am worried that they won't listen to him. Considering we have info on patents of ANOTHER controller with a touch screen.
