If Hasbro gave the rights of MLP to the fandom?

I think, this would not be a good idea.

By all the different Animators out there, im pretty sure everyone wants to do things different.

Im pretty sure a lot of Bronys would fight to get their vision of mlp produced.

You cant just take a lot of different animators with different styles, living in complete different places with complete different wishes how the show should continue.

Also, how are we supposed to even continue the series?

We have no Budget.

With no Money...well...whats the point?

Some people could open a Patreon or Kickstarter, but by the high amount of Bronys, they would probably be like 5 or 6 kickstarters for 6 different series at once or something.

Im thinking that it would be just pure chaos.

It would be a total disaster and would end up as a gigantic trainwreck of vastly different ideas and concepts (not all of them good) from people who don't know how to handle the show.

There is just so much things that could go wrong with it, that I am glad it is never going to happen.

It could be an interesting to see just how messed up it could get, but I am glad that the show is in the hands of actual professionals.

That would just not work. Giving legal ownership of a franchise to an entire group of people who have no immediate affiliation with each other? Let's say they do, for whatever reason:

Who is in charge? Who writes the episodes? Who directs the production? Who decides what style it's going to be? Who decides which changes to make?

Does every Brony have a say in the matter? If so, we have chaos. If not, then it's unfair.

What would the tone of the show be? What would the story be? How could we decide?

Not only would we not get anything done, but we would make a complete wreck out of MLP. We watch the show for a reason. Sure, every now and then, you might think, "I think this should have happened," or, "That could have been better."

But if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Continuity and quality would differ per team/person(Separate universes, which wouldn't bother me). If higher quality ones came out such as videos that were created by JanAnimations then I would love to see that. Would definitely love to see some fanfics come to life as well. Though like others say it would be ripped apart, the fandom would be too fractured. Would still be cool to see what could come of it though.

That would be THE WORST POSSIBLE THING. Considering that the fandom is millions of people, which means there are millions of ideas and head canons, Hasbro would not be able to handle making ALL of our ideas canon for us. Besides, some of the stuff the fandom makes is kind of f**ked up, which means that if they become part of the show, its won't be for 'little girls' or KIDS IN GENERAL anymore. Oh, and another thing, there are some horrible OCs out there that we do not want in the series. From there, things will be chaos!

In my opinion, us having the rights to the show isn't such a good idea. We should leave everything up to them and just go with whatever they do.

@. Hey there. As the subject of your topic is about MLP, I'm moving it to Sugarcube Corner.

Also i agree with most people that this would be a horrible idea. For one, they wouldn't be able to give the rights of a show to a fandom since a fandom is just a group of people. They would need to give the rights to a single person of the fandom (Pretty sure that's how it works XD). And also a lot of people have their own views on how they want the show to be so i imagine there would be a lot of arguments which would easily ruin the show.

Please, just...  No.  A thousand times no.  As it stands, I can usually watch the show without running into anything too much like an edgy fanfic that unimaginatively crosses MLP with something utterly incongruous.  It'd likely be inundated with OCs that were inexpertly voiced by their respective creators, and the inevitable introduction of rampant shipping would transform the show into a thoroughly ill-conceived relationship drama.

It would be a disaster and a terrible decision. It's just as bad as if the Mane Six were to be turned into alicorns randomly.

And Big Mac gets a machine gun.

@, I would like it if they were a lot more lenient on how fan created content is being sold or other things like that but it won't work. It will never ever work. They'll bury themselves alive if they do that.

The show would undergo massive deevolution into a cesspit of pornography, OC alicorns, cliché Mideival Age battles, the bad 9000th remix of Making a Cupcake, fetish porn, 'anatomically correct' show, which is already a thing by the way for some satanic reason, EVEN MORE PORN, edgy beheading/child abandonment, and 2 million OCs named Shadow or Death (stylised with special characters as you please) all wrapped up with bashing animé and other fur.

The FCC starts Censorship Wars and the Resistance then pumps out the porno now known as MLP out to the masses through the World Wide Web. Little girls are terrified and parents no longer let their children access the internet anymore . But it's everywhere. Everywhere you turn, there is more, there is a gaping pony butt right in your face. Economies collapse as the world becomes unable to deal with the threat as bronies convert more to their movement.

The last of the resistance is Serbja, who tried its best to remove My Little Porny, but it's no use. The Brony Order has a planet-sized weapon that it uses to crash our very existence with non-stop cringe, as the light days of humanity fade away into darkness.

In the year 42,550 AD, aliens will reach our planet and find the remains of a civilisation downed because of the grave mistake of giving rights of a celebrity IP to its fandom.

and not to mention that every single character would turn into a black alicorn with a red mane that has a tortured past and is an edgy emo misunderstood super powered omnipotent demigod that is also the long lost daughter of celestia

Ok, how about this? Lauren Faust comes back as executive producer and she picks animators, VAs, musicians, background artists, etc from the fandom. That way MLP won't turn as dark as we all think. :D At least with the fandom running it we could have better fight scenes. :D

Anyone know how the fans seemed to have taken complete hold of the Sonic franchise in terms of how it's presented in the internet? It's horrible. Those sonic fanworks.... just no. Imagine.... the fan side view of MLP becoming the stronger represented force over the original... it would be quite devastating really.

I'd be afraid of what would happen if the fans decided what to do with it. It would likely become a fan fiction writing contest with varying tones that would throw away the intended demographic Hasbro had in mind, and that's for the stories alone.

But let's face it: I doubt Hasbro would give away the rights to one of their biggest moneymakers to the fans and let them do whatever they want with it.

The issue would be that when non-bronies check out why bronies are bronies the official cartoon will be so deeply buried underneath fanworks that that's all they will see. And if Hasbro allows bronies to take full front on all this the main series will become a distance memory and non-bronies will see the fanwork as what MLP is about. And the most noticable shocking ones will be the first things they see.

Everything about MLP will be a cringy reference and the episode Slice of Life.

Why does this show need any fight scenes? This is not Dragon Ball Z or anything.

And besides, if Lauren came right now, where the show already is, i don't think she will know where to direct it, because it's so different from what she wanted to do with it.

I'd like to imagine that IF our wonderful overlords did this, that the whole thing would just end up blowing itself up (either from fan made eps like the ".mov" series, ships/pornos or extreme fighting) actually becoming cannon

gg the fandom will crash ;-;

Let's say goodbye to our favorite horses because it would be the end of MLP, FOREVAH

While there are many talented authors in different fields in our fandom, there are many that are not good for starters. We'll see bad official products making stories TOO edgy for the fandom. Not to mention the official self inserts mary sues and introducing headcanons that won't fit in the show, which will inevitably cause rage within the fandom, but since the authors aren't professional artists, won't handle criticism well, and will act upon unethical and unprofessional behavior that  will ruin his life and FiM with him. So, nope, it's better to give Equestria's throne to a bad guy rather than this
