open University of Canterlot (Revamp)

The air was crisp, the wind was gently blowing making the leaves rustle and fly off of the delicate branches. The smell of fresh apple cider filled the city streets. Hot apple tarts and carrot muffins were being sold by street carts. Along with ponies selling scarves and hats, fall was here, and so was the beginning of the school year. 

 

The smoke cleared from the train that lead from Ponyville to Canterlot. Students flooded the campus, they were from all over Equestria, ponies were reuniting after a long summer off. 

 

The new seniors were taking their place as top ponies on campus. Preparing their houses for the upcoming freshmen. The housing ceremony happened the first night after the group dinner. The headmaster usually made the same announcements as every year, be safe, study hard, join teams, and most of all, do your best. 

 

The sorting ceremony didn't take too long, you had to be accepted into the University to begin with so the amount of new students every year wasn't all that big. There were three houses, the Alicorns, the Changlings, and the Crystals. 

 

The Alicorn house always had award winning students, on the headmasters list of academic achievement, or the house with more of the winning trophies for the sports and other competitions. They were a good house, some might call them the goody two-hooves of the houses but good ponies were there just the same. 

 

The Changling house usually housed those who were more dedicated to the magic of Equestria, figuring out spells, brewing potions, exploring the strange and untamed. This house helps ponies who are looking to explore and expand their knowledge and to be able to do wondrous things. Don't let the name fool you, there are not changlings here, and it isn't just a house for unicorns either, many ponies of all races have found ways to use magic to help them and others. 

 

The last house, the Crystal house. This house is for those who are still searching for who they truly are, they have their cutie mark but they still have yet to realize the full potential of that mark. This house helps ponies to find their true selves, they explore all types of areas, from magic, to agricultural, to academia. Ponies that find themselves in this house will uncover who they are before they graduate and that knowledge will help them to leave this school fulfilled and accomplished, almost more so than the other two houses where ponies pretty much already know who they are and destined to become.

 

An announcement came over the loud speakers. "Attention students of the University of Canterlot, this is your headmaster. I would like to welcome you all to a brand new school year, I have a feeling it is going to be filled with fun, excitement, achievement, and most of all learning! I look forward to seeing all of the return students, and meeting all of the first years! Remember the campus dinner and housing ceremony begins tonight at 7pm! Don't be late! That is all."

 

This year is going to be something just a little bit different....I have a feeling.  

 

The staff had been focusing on preparing their classrooms for the upcoming year. Anxiously awaiting to help the students learn and prepare for their lives outside of the campus. It was a privilege to attend the University of Canterlot and these students worked hard to get here. The professors took pride in their teaching and they knew that the students were there to find who they were, and find out exactly what their destiny was. 

 

Some students knew who they were and they were there to embrace it, grow upon it, and learn from the best. Others were still finding out who they truly were. They were there to figure out what their cutie marks meant and why their destiny was chosen. 

 

The time was 6:30, almost time to head to the dining hall for dinner and for the sorting ceremony. Many students had finally finished exiting the train and making their way to the campus. The students luggage was to be stored in the main hall until after the sorting ceremony. Once it was done their luggage would be placed in their appropriate house.

 

The headmaster entered the teachers hall, "If you would please make your way to the dining hall, I would like to be there before the students began to enter."

Midnight walks through the grounds and towards the school and thinks to herself "I am still amazed that they let me join. I shouldn't cause any trouble if I can avoid it. I really hope that I can fly in the school I am getting irritable walking around and without my beautiful sword, I hope the school has a  fencing club." And with that Midnight arrived at the dinner table and sat down in the back, by herself, on the main table.

Today was the day! Today was the day that the university would start that her mentor had placed her in to help her with doing other stuffs then just focusing on her studdys bout Mythic and Magical places, A thing the snow white unicorn with a red mane that had purple stripes in it and a purple tail with red stripes had been resisting to from the start. But there where no deying he rmentor when she had put a thing on her mind. One could also spot a strange purple fire behind the unicorns horn that would be her friend. companion and exstention of her own magic power that have taken the form of a Fire Spirit with it's existence and personality.

 

As the white unicorn packed her enchanted bag full more books then would normaly be possible and most of them was put in only for her to review old spells and spell formulas. After putting down the fifthent book in her bag she continued to fill it out with purple ink, some bundles of papers and her favorit quill that had been given to her from a Phenix uppon it's rebirth circle together with a few extra ones just inchase. Lastly she put in a dark red book that had her cutie mark on the front. A black chesspiece with tree purple stars, She never leaved anywhere without it inchase her mentor wanted her something or she needed to reflect uppon her findings of myth and magic... or just general mentoring moments as it was ment for as she didn't have a baby dragon to retrive scrolls from.

 

The clock was nearing dinner time and the white unicorn left her wing apartment that was in the biggest building of Canterlot to make her way to the university that she would be staying at. She didn't really know why she had to do it as it was only around thirty minutes walk from her wing or she could just as well teleport to the university... But her mentor insisted on staying. something about socialising with other students, The white unicorn lifted up her saddlebag onto her back. It was amazingly light! Almost like a small stone when in reality it had sixteen books. several dousen pages of papers, ink and quills in it together with a small punch of enchanting gems and a pounch with a few hundred gold bits in. Tough the twice enchanted saddlebag had a weight removing and space increasing gems sewed into it, making it the perfect assesory both in fashion and usefullness!

 

Uppon reaching the castle like university building that she would stay in she couldn't help but hear an echoing sound that would show to be the headmasters voice announcing for the students to proceed to the dinning hall.

 

As said, the white unicorn made her way trough the inner gates of campus untill she reached the dinning hall. still with her spectral companion on her head. "Well Irra. I guess we're here!" She said with a sigh. "One year in this school. The importance of friendship huh? Like I'v not made some of that our adventures already or what do you say Irra?" the unicorn said while looking crosseyed up on her horn where the purple spectral Fire Spirit was and also had taken the form of a miniature wolf while animating a happy bark. "Yea I know. Blizzard would agree with you. Now shall we get some food?" The unicorn put herself down at a talbe and picked up a plate from her saddlebag and conjured some spectral fruits for her friend to eat while she herself waited for everything to start. Irra happily jumped down from her friend horn and begun to eat her fill of the spectral goodies.

"Alright Flamestreak your first day college, don't do anything stupid please."  That's me, Flamestreak checking myself out in the mirror preparing for my first day of freedom. I feel throwing up, is that normal, Anyway,after a few minutes of criticizing my appearance I go to the bathroom and swiftly pick up a worn 10-year-old brush and delicately stroke my hair back and forth until most of my mane is fully patted down. I mess it up a bit not trying to look too formal and fly to my coat rack, grabbing my jacket and head out the front door. Goodbye cloudsdale, I'll certainly miss being in a comfortable environment.

 

About 10 minutes go by when I reach the awaiting doors of the university. I take a quick gulp of breath and exhale slowly before entering the hallowed doors as walk into my new home.

 

Dear Celestia everything so big! The building is much larger than my former school. infact, I think the cafeteria itself could take up my entire high school. The air blew a gentle zephyr and sunlight shone brightly throughout the school almost inviting to explore more of the area. As I gawked at my tranquil surroundings, the speakers poking off the side building sparked to life

 

 Attention students of the University of Canterlot, this is your headmaster. I would like to welcome you all to a brand new school year, I have a feeling it is going to be filled with fun, excitement, achievement, and most of all learning! Ok, that should be easy to remember. I walk further throughout the complex, I should probably go out and try to make a friend. Easier said than done though there is at least 1000 ponies here. Some are grouping up to take photos, some are peacefully talking under a tree or other things, some are even dancing! I'll try my luck inside the school.

 

I open the school door and was greeted with a little dinner scene, a bunch of ponies there, but not nearly as much as there was outside. I swiftly grab a plate and spot a unicorn mare sitting down a table, Now I do have a thing for Pegasi but I don't any currently and she looks nice anyway.

Flearia let out a sigh as the time was 6:35 and she couldn't stand waiting for everything to start and get over with. To ease her boredom before the ceremony would start and she would be able to eat herself, giving a longing glimse to the spectral goodies her comoanion was enjoying. She used hermagic tolevitate her small bag of enchanting gems onto the table and counted them. Thirty small gems all in all. She picked out a saphire, ruby and a amethyst before putting the rest of them back into the pounch and back into the saddlebag. She begun pouring some of her energy into the gems. Making them shine as she played around with them. 

 

"Hello there, How are you doing today?"

 

The voice had come from a red Pegasi stallion that to herself, had appeared out of nowhere! Starling both her and Irra! Irra then made a quick escape back into Flearia's horn. "Aah! You starled me!" she exclaimed while firming the gripp of her gems that now looked like they would break from preasure. "I'm fine. Tough you starled Irra into hiding. It'll take me forever to make her come out again!" she let out a loud sigh before dispelling the spectral fruits and continuing. "Who are you then? Me. I'm Flearia Dragondanser."

Shadow walked through the gates and looked at the building. He sighed and said as he reached into his bag and pulled out his black shades, 

"Another year, another group of new student and having to put these shades on to not scare them."

He placed them on as he headed to the dining hall. As he walked in, he saw two students just sitting there. He went to the other side of the room and sat down, watching through his black shades to see if anything will happen this time.

 

 

Feeder walked into the school and dropped his bag off in his classroom. Then he headed to the dining hall, he sat in his designated seat and looked at every student that was there.

the sun was shining behind canterlot, a young pegasus mare was flying towards a big famous building. the building was the famous university of canterlot and the pegasus was named summer breeze. she was flying faster and more elegant as you would expect from the amount of luggage she was carrying, a saddle bag full of books and other stuff she needed for the university and some personal things she brought from home. most ponys who went to the university would be happy and exited to be accepted but summers face was a mix between excitement, fear, happiness and loneliness. that was exactly how she was feeling, she was exited to go to this big, famous school but also scared for what could come. she was happy because she wanted to meet new ponys and make new friends but also lonely because she left behind everything she knew to go here.

 

summer landed a few steps from the gate of the university, the sun was shining on her light blue, allmost white, coat and her pink manes where moving in the wind. she raised her head to look up to the sky above her and above the university. 'don't worry, summer, the sky you're under is everywhere the same' she whispered to herself with her eyes closed. then she opened them, walked forwards and entered the university of canterlot. when she was through the gates she suddenly felt a giggle comming up 'why so serious? this will be fun!' she said out loud and she flew up and made a looping. or at least she tryd but her heavy saddlebag made her fall down and almost chrash on the ground, but she managed to get her controle back before she hit the ground and she landed safely. 'let's not try that again before I found my room and get rid of all this weight' she said to herself and turned her head to look at her overfull saddlebags. but then she looked around realising she had absolutely no idea where to go. maybe i should go to the main area and find somepony to show me the way or something she thought and walked to where she thought the dining hall would be.

"This is it...College" Hacktune whispered to himself in the wagon heading to the University. "Holy mother of Celestia, the building is so big." He said as he get off the wagon. He tipped the wagon driver and levitated his stuff, ranging from boxes to instruments. He pulled a small map about the University. "Right so now we're at the entrance, I should find my room and drop off my stuff." He trotted to his room in the Crystal house. When he arrived at his room he just dropped off all his items and sat down for a minute. Just a moment after he just sat down, the headmaster made an announcement.

 Attention students of the University of Canterlot, this is your headmaster. I would like to welcome you all to a brand new school year, I have a feeling it is going to be filled with fun, excitement, achievement, and most of all learning! Hacktune looked at his phone, it was 6:30 "Maybe I should bring my guitar, it's still 30 minutes before dinner, could be a good way for socializing." He took his hoodie,headphones, and guitar to the Dinner hall. there he saw a young pegasus mare bringing a lot of things to the dinner hall@@Summer Breeze, "What's with bringing all the stuff... Wait haha I haven't introduced myself, My name is Hacktune." He said as he extended his hoof.

After making a quick inspection of the red pegasi infront of her with her eyes and seeing what looked like a friendly smile, Flearia herself exstended a hoof to shake his. "A-ay. Nice to meet you too Flame." She let out trying to calm herself a bit and tryed to make smalltalk. "So, em, Where are you from? Do you have any guess on what house you'll be in? I myself am here from Canterlot. I'm still kind of forced to be staying in the house i'm designated to even when it only takes me about half an hour to get home from here."

 

Losing the grip of her gems a bit before moving them towards her bag to store them she saw in the corner of her eye another pegasi just entering the dinning hall and to the looks of it, she was strugling some bit with her heavy luggage. A quick thinking of her own and she surged the power form the ruby and saphire into the amathys gem and put the other two back into her bag. "She looks like she is strugling... I'll go help her, wanna come too? Flame?" Flearia said and at the same time Irra appeared from her horn just as she stood up and trotted away to the light blue and almost white coated and pink haired pegasi just as another unicorn walked up to her. The unicorn was white and had two blue collored mane. the unicorn had a small device that had a cord on it, moving to  his head showing a pair of headphones stuck around his neck while he also had a guitar on his back. 

 

"What's with bringing all the stuff... Wait haha I haven't introduced myself, My name is Hacktune." The white unicorn said.

 

"Let me help you with that!" Flearia said before the light blue peagsi could react. Levitating her bag up into the air while she moved the amethyst and attatched it to the bags straps before putting the bag down on her again. "There, light as a feather! I put on a light weight enchanted gem on your bag so you won't need to put so much effort in just the weight. Tough I didn't put enough magic in the gem so the effect isn't permanent" Flearia explained before presenting herself and realizing she might have been a bit to forward. "em, I'm Fleaira Dragondanser. Hope I didn't offend you with that..."

'hi there, Hacktune, I'm Summer breeze.' she said and then pointed to the guitar and the other stuff he was carrying 'it's not like you're bringing nothing too' she said with a smile. then she heared an other voice behind her and turned around again. her saddlebag to levitated from her and a unicorn did something to it what made it really light

'thanks, flearia! it really helps. my name is Summer Breeze, nice to meet you' she said to the unicorn who just helped her. she felt glad she was already making friends but also a bit uncomfortable. first because this was not the best first impresion to make at a new school, second because her saddlebag was unnaturally light and it felt really strange on her back.

'I was actually searching for the chrystall house, does anypony know where that is? then I can drop my stuff there' she said to the two ponys. she was hoping they would just tell her where it was so she could escape of all the attention and to prepare for the big group meal. but she knew they probably wouldn't let her go that easy and to be honest, if summer was in their situation she wouldn't have let them go too.

Feeder finished up with putting stuff and started walking through the halls. When he turned the corner, he noticed a group of students. He walked up and said,

The dining hall had filled up with students, the dinner was beginning to appear on the tables, it was full of warm stuffed apples, hot apple cider. There was a pumpkin soup and some delicious oat and chocolate cookies. The students were eating their fill and chatting among themselves. 

 

Headmaster Greyhoof stood and walked to the podium. "I am so glad to see all of these familiar faces, and the new ones as well. This year is going to be a great one, I can already tell. Please make sure that you eat your fill, we will begin our sorting ceremony for our first years momentarily." He gave a warm smile to the table filled with the first years and made his way back to his seat.

Shadow got up and walked behind the teachers and stood on his hind legs, watching everyone eat. 

 

Feeder got in his seat and started eating his fill of the food. 

 

Travelture fell from the sky, shook himself off, and said as he ran to the dining area, 

"That is the last time I think about my true self when flying."

He changed his form to a white male unicorn, sat down, and started devouring the food.

Vinyl quickly donned her uniform and dashed out of the castle toward Canterlot University. "Oh Luna, I'm late. I am so late!" Upon arriving to the dining hall's doors, she quickly composed herself and fixed her mane. Quietly, she opened the door, but it let out a bit of a squeak. She looked up and unfortunately made eye contact with the headmaster, then she covered her face as she tried to sneak over to her seat

Second Sight sat idly at a corner of the all, a look of total boredom gracing his face if one could make it out under the shadow of his hat. He really hated these kind of gatherings. For the first years, sure, students would flock around meeting new ponies, buzzing and talking about...

 

Like a swarm of bloody mosquitoes. 

 

But alas, orders were orders. If the headmaster wanted him to be there, so be it. So, he sat there, and pretty much did what he did best.

Emerald landed outside the school, when Twilight told me a 'holiday'  she failed to mention it would be for a whole year! The Pegasus stood at the school entrance "where do i go like somepony gave me a map? No." She said out loud to no one in particular, however a senior student a rather unassuming brown coated male earth pony with cream mane and tail approached her. "Are you a new student here miss...?" "Miss Bolt or would it be Orange and no i'm a...a teacher?" the word was very strange for Emerald to say. The colt continued "Welcome to the Uni of Canterlot miss Bolt or Orange, if you follow me i'll take you to the Dining hall you'll be able to find your way from there as all the teachers will  be in attendance, what are you going to teach?" "I'm to be the gym and self deference teacher."

They were both outside main dining hall, "here you are miss hope you enjoy teaching here." Before Emerald could say anything he had already left, here goes nothing she walked in through the large doors.

Travelture finished eating and walked out of the dining hall. Once he was out of the doorway, he decided to turn to normal. He looked down to see that his hooves were slowly changing back. He started walking around until he ran into some student. He walked up and said as he forgot his legs were changing,

"Hi there. have any of you eaten yet?"
