As Hyde's forehead was struck with Blitz's palm , it pierced through his skin as if it were sand. Hyde began laughing unfazed by the shot, his voice echoing through the forest. "Looks like you're out of chakra , Kid" He smiled in a vicious voice. "Check mate" He grinned in a victorious tone.

 

Suddenly Hyde could feel something burning between his eyes, the area of Blitz's impact began to crack Hyde's  

 

 

(For added effect) 

 

 

 

"NOOOOOOOO!!!!!"

 

Hyde screamed in defiance as his entire body began to crack at the surface, Mists of chakra escaped from the crevices flowing outward towards  Blitz. "H-....how did you..." He snarled in confusion before his body completely dissipated, the red mist flowing quickly like a torrent into Blitz's arms causing him intense pain. 

 

and with that...Hyde was no more.

Wolf watched in absolute horror as the altercation between Blotz and Hyde escalated.

"Hyde!" the jonin ninja shouted- in fear of the worst. Wolf had no idea what had caused her fellow ninja to explode in such madness, but it all came to a halt when Hyde fell to the ground- dead.

Wolf sprang up, dismissing all of her injuries. She stumbled and began limping toward Hyde and Blitz.

 

Wolf fell to the ground face first right next to Hyde's body. She rested her hand onto his chest and began to breathe heavily. "HYDE!" she screamed as tears began flooding her eyes.

Wolf struggled to regain her footing, but was becoming too distraught. She turned her head toward Blitz and asked "What the hell happened to him!?"

Wolf signaled for Blink to come over by the scene.

Blitz's eyes widened in shock as he watched Hyde die and simply fell to the ground when he fell out from under the ninja. Blitz had meant to simply knock him out, but this was much more horrifying. As soon as Wolf spoke, he felt his body tense and felt his mental state deteriorate. The ninja didn't even risk looking at her for fear of completely breaking down. "I, I don't know. I didn't mean to kill him." He mutterd under his breath, tears beginning to well up in his eyes.

Blink moved automatically at the signal. His ears ringing as his new found friend was gone in the blink of an eye. 

But instead of sadness, anger boiled inside of him. This was his way of mourning.

He turned to Blitz, his eyes blood red. Full of fury and sorrow.

"What. Did. You. Do."

He clenched his fists, his knuckles as pale as a sheet.

Wolf clenched Hyde's shirt, right above his chest. She began to cry and hit the ground with her free hand. "Why did this have to happen?" she asked Blitz- looking up at him. "This was our first mission and we ended up losing someone. What does that say about me as a leader? As a jonin, no less. I promised that no one would die today..." Looking back at the body in front of her, the snow ninja shuffled to a sitting position and wiper her tears away. "He needs to be given proper honor as a ninja, even if he was always suspicious of me. Hell, I don't blame, though"

When she sensed tension rising with Blink, she rose up and placed her hands on his shoulders. "Calm down, Blink!" She then backed away, fearing that his anger was only escalating.

Blitz didn't really know what to say at that point. What could he even say at that point? He had just inadvertently killed a friend, something that went against everything he stood for. "I'm sorry." He muttered under his breath. He could feel his body growing colder as time passed.

Blink saw the fear in Wolf's eyes, and his rage faltered for a moment. But as he turned back to the dust covered Blitz, his red eyes flared once more.

Blink's fury overcame him, and he reached for his kunai. His hand slipped comfortably over the hilt of the knife, and he moved towards Blitz in a threatening manner.

As he walked, his mind was flooded with flashbacks of a small girl around his age with long brown hair, killing his parents in cold blood with a form of snow/ice jutsu. (Possibly Wolf? Idk just an idea ) This only made his anger increase.

"What happened to him? Why did he suddenly snap like that? I feel like you know something that we don't, Blitz. Is that true? Or am I just at a total loss here?" asked Wolf as she shuffled in her position. She glanced at the lifeless body next to her and sighed.

Feeling the tension rise around her, Wolf also caught the feeling of Blink's chakra take on an anger-like form. She knew that he was going to strike Blitz. "Blink, don't!" she retorted as she placed her hand on his shoulder. "Hyde was completely out of control and I don't think that there was anything that we could do. We should listen to Blitz first!" she continued. Wolf's body the shivered... She then realized who Blink was- the ninja's whose family she had murdered while she was an early member of the Akatsuki.

Blitz felt cold, tuning out everything around him as he looked at where a ally had fallen by his own hand. "They won't forgive you and they sure as hel won't listen to anything you have to say. Run. Run as fast as you can and don't look back." Blitz's eyes widened at the sound of a voice whose source he was unable to detect. From the sound of it, he could tell it wasn't anyone he knew, and it sounded feminine. The teen wasn't about to ignore it, but he needed to be careful. Blink was on the warpath and Wolf was trying her best to keep the peace. What she said, about him withholding information, struxk a cord within him and that only added fuel to his own anger. The teen then stood, before glancing back at his own teammates. "I don't know what I did to kill Hyde, and I don't know what caused him to lash out at us. Believe me when I say the last thing I wanted was to put him down. I considered him a friend up until he said he killed my family."

Blink froze.

"He, killed your family?" Dread filled his heart and he dropped his kunai.

He'd realised what he was doing, he was going to slash at a friend..

No. He wasn't going to lose another.

And then it clicked. Wolf, ice powers, a couple years older than him.

He turned, no anger but sorrow filling his eyes.

"You, you killed my family." He whispered towards Wolf.

Please let this be a coincidence.

Wolf smashed her fist against a neighboring tree trunk with such force that blood traced down her wrist. "I feel like you do know something, Blitz... but we can't just stand around here. We need to give Hyde a proper buriel... even if you have such a history with him". Wolf turned her head toward the ground and gritted her teeth. She was flooded with guilt- considering she was the one in charge of this group. "Oh, what hell the Hokage is going to give me later" she added with a small laugh.

After that remark, the female ninja glanced at Blink with her bold, green eyes. "It's no coincidence... I did kill your family. It was when I was new in the Akatsuki. At first, I didn't recognize you... but now, I do. I truly do. I'd be more than happy to take a verbal lashing from you. But please... let's bury Hyde" she trailed off.

The snow ninja made a subtle hand signal at Icera and she vanished. She began to slwoly pick up Hyde's body and drug it.

Blink's body shook with silent rage; although he managed to contain himself.
"The innocent murder of a young family, and loss of an eye from a friend is enough. I don't need to say anything else."

He sat, watching Blitz.

Maybe he'd acted a little bit harsher than he'd met, but he was angry. really angry.

Blitz nodded slightly and picked up the half of Hyde's body that was dragging against the ground. He felt dead inside, like a part of him had been forcibly ripped out. "It's not even her fault that he's dead. I overreacted and this is where it got us." He thought to himself. The ninja then sighed and closed his eyes. Maybe he wasn't cut out for this.

Giving a nod in return to Blitz's she lightly tugged the ninja's body to the right. ..."I want to bury him in the Hidden Leaf. Let's head back there. Besides, we need to report to the Hokage what happened and any information we managed to gather on the Akatsuki". In a moment like this, Wolf shoukd be crying quite a bit, but now, she was just blank.

Blink, I am trusting you to be our eyes whilst we walk back to the village. If you see any danger approaching, please let us know" Wolf ordered in a low, sincere tone.

Blink smiled sadistically before walking forwards into the thick brush ahead of him. He was still quite shaken up by the death of his friend.

Blink reappeared on a well beaten road on the other side, and one way directly lead them back to the village. 

He disappeared into the canopy, hoping to get a better view.

Wolf watched as Blink leaped into the tree branches. She let out a small laugh. "I can't wait to experience that verbal lashing later on..."

She then tuned her attenetion to Hyde's limp body. "Are you ready to carry him back, Blitz?" she asked, now determined. "What do you think the Hokage is going to say?" she added.

Blitz gave a slight nod and looked down at the dead body between the two. "Don't worry about the hokage. I lost my temper, so I should be the one to get reprimanded." He said, as if he could read her mind. The ninja honestly felt sick, though. Hyde could've just said all of that just to annoy him, and he fell for it. He trained all of his life to get where he was now, and there was a good chance that he would be permanently dismissed as a jounin because of this. At least it was better than letting Wolf take the blame.

Wolf hesitantly walked into the Hokage's office along with her two remaining partners. She was holding Hyde's lifeless body in her arms with a bridal style. She didn't even begin to know how to approach this.

 

"We're back from the mission, Lord Hokage. We did not manage to gather much information on the Akatsuki, but we did have an altercation with them; resulting in heavy damage in the forest near here. Unfortunately, we lost a comrade, Hyde. We didn't feel right leaving him behind..." Wolf stated with eyes locked onto the Hokage.

 

Lady Gransie stared at Wolf for a moment and then thrned her attemtion toward the other two ninja.

"Who is responsible for Hyde's death? I have a feeling it wasn't the Akastuki" retorted Lady Gransie.

Blitz knew that this was coming, but he already told Wolf that he would take the fall so there was little he could do. "I did it." He said, not showing any trace of fear in his voice. "Considering the fact that Hyde lost control and was going to kill us, it was probably the best thing to do at the time. Granted, I can't really say the same for myself either."

Blink sighed. Blitz's punishment would be extremely severe and the air of tension showed that everyone knew it.

 

He looked the hokage dead in the eye, showing no trace of emotion but a lost sorrow.

 

"Blitz is not a solo offender, if I was to act sooner this whole predicament could have been avoided."

 

Blink knew this piece of information in the hokage's eyes would make himself the main offender, acting as though Blitz had responded in self defence instead of a personal grudge. Blink knew this would put him in the hokage's main punishment line and possibly push Blitz's punishment to that of a much lower rank, or to a non existent state. He didn't know what overcame him to take the blame.. But it just happened.

 

(OOC: Sorry for a late and rushed post, haven't had much time to myself lately. I'll try to get back into a regular rhythm again.)

Lady Gransi sat patiently and listend to the words of Blitz and Blink. She knew these ninja and never once thought they would kill a comrade for just...any reason. 

 

She folded her hands on the top of her desk.

 

"I had heard rumors regarding Hyde and this loss of control. I'll be honest with you three, I feared that something like this would happen; especially to him"

 

...

 

"I'm not condoning your behavior, but I don't see how a punishment would be in order here. What we should do is give this man a proper funeral" Lady Gransie continued.

 

Wolf gently laid Hyde onto the floor and took a deep breath; looking at Blitz and Blink.

 

"I was in charge of this mission, though. It was my part to make sure that we got the information you asked for as well as to protect everyone. I failed here"

Blitz nodded slightly at what the hokage said, but was a bit annoyed that she had decided not to inform them about the rumors surrounding Hyde. The ninja then glanced at Wolf and sighed. "We all failed. It happens. The only things we can do now is make sure doesn't happen again." He said, looking at Hyde's dead body. Something just didn't seem right about all of this. The ninja then headed for the door, but glanced back at the hokage. "That being said, do you mind if I look at a few of the records. There's some personal business I need to figure out."

Blink breathed deeply, obviously relieved, but also slightly angered.

"Why didn't you tell us? This could've been avoided."

His heart skipped a beat when he looked down Hyde's glassy and unseeing eyes. The shock of the whole of the situation had yet to wear off.

Lady Gransi gaze moved toward Blitz. "I assume it is Hyde you're going to learn more about? Be careful..."

Wolf picked up Hyde's lifeless body and began to exit the room. She signaled for Blink to follow her. "We'll be burying him now..."

 

Wolf proceded into the hallway and broke down. She hit her fist against the wall as small crsytals of snow formed around it. "Do you understand why this is so hard for me, Blink?" she asked, frustrated yet sincere.

Blitz nodded slightly, but didn't show any emotion. "Yeah. I will be." He said, before exiting the room. He was honestly tempted to go to Hyde's burial, but figured he could pay his respects to him another time. He needed information and while the hokage was partially right, the ninja was also going to find reports of what happened to his clan. It didn't take him long to find the room, now the hard part would truely begin.
