"So, if we are to work as a team, I need to know your fighting style so I can develop my own skill in due course to yours, if that makes sense."

He looked forward, clutching his ninja bandanna as the scarred eye under it burned with memories of past.

  Zach at first was not exactly comfortable having his personal space being invaded so freely was stunned silent, an awkward moment for him to say the least, but as he was carted around on the unique mode of locomotion he chuckled "You know most people take me out to dinner first, before they drag me onto the roof tops and bounce about."

 

"Eh?...."

 

"Sorry....I don't understand" Jake smiled like an idiot  , he was never known for understanding relationships above platonic.

 

 

 

 

"But if you put me down I can promise I can keep, trust me I've done a lot of running in my life..." he chuckled some more 

 

Jake dropped down at the Village gates and dropped Fox down as his legs warped back to normal. "We made it!!!" He grinned, stretching his arms a bit. Jake began looking around noticing Blink walking up to Wolf.

 "Hey Blitzy!" He called waving at the young ninja, with a welcoming smile. "Come on! We have to catch up" He said, calling both Fox and Blitz's attention as he began marching ahead following the two in the front.

Fox just rolled his eyes "Whats the worse that can happen? They leave us behind, oh no. Oooo maybe they'll threaten me again or something." he chcukeld and slowly began to walk forward " And here I was thinking this was the "good guys", jez what do I know" 

 

He sighed and kept walking, hoping that this madness would soon calm down

Blitz nodded slightly and followed the others. "Yeah, I'm coming." He muttered as he looked around. The teen figured that it would be best to stay on guard for the time being, in the event of an ambush. This was honestly the most eager to fight, despite the situation.

As Wolf slowly walked out of the village, she smiled sweetly at Blink.

"Well, I mainly specialize in ninjutsu and am intermediate in taijutsu. I possess the kekkei genkai of snow and I can summon a large snow owl named Icera. Her and I get along really well. As for genjutsu, I can't properly execute that sort of jutsu... I can, however, release it from others"

Wolf suddenly remembered that both Jake and Hyde were coming along...

"Please keep in mind what I said earlier about putting aside any bitterness toward others in this group".

She turned her head toward Blotz, noticing the lack of enthusiasm in his voice. Wolf tilted her head, perplexed.

"Are you okay there, Blitz?"

 

She noticed that Noriko hadn't been saying a whole lot, either.

Wolf whispered, giving Heart a closed-eye smile.

"I can tell that you lack skill in ninjutsu, taijutsu, and genjutsu; as well as medical ninjutsu. So i'm going to ask you this now... Do you want to be put on the frontlines when we are confronted with the Akatsuki? I know that, eariler, I stated that everyone will be used of defense and offense, but I don't want any unecessary casualties. Hell, do you even have any kunai or shuriken on you?"

"We're just mercenaries with a heart" Jake spoke with a strangely saddened tone.

 

 "Or at least that's what a friend of mine used to say" He smiled, his tone jolting back to his usual bubbly self.

 

 

 

Wolf suddenly remembered that both Jake and Hyde were coming along... "Please keep in mind what I said earlier about putting aside any bitterness toward others in this group".

 

"Eh....Sure Wolf Lady!" Jake confirmed, though in reality He does not remember Wolf saying those words.

Fox just laughed "Look, don't worry about me, I'll be fine. I may not be a ninja but I can take care of myself, I mean I've walked this thin grey line my whole life...Sure I'm not always on top, but I always survive,  I wouldn't be standing here otherwise if that weren't the case."

He reached back into his overstuffed bag and pulled out a random weapon "... I got enough in here to arm a small army... more or less, I may not be proficient but I am armed..besides I'm not your typical fighter anyway, weapons just slow me down" he smiled and whistled 

'Come on lets get a move on, I'm sure we'll all get to prove our metal soon enough, with all these hostile types yammering about" it wasn't quite clear who he was referring to his own team or their adversaries

"Interesting. If you can lock them down, I can easily come in and destroy them. However, we'll need someone to come in and help me if need be, since I'll be locked in close combat the whole time I'm getting rid of them."

And as if on queue, Jake spoke up behind him.

He turned, walking backwards next to Wolf.

"Jake, d'you reckon you could help me.. (blah blah, read what I just said ) if it came to that point?"

Blitz glanced at Wolf and simply gave a slight nod. "Yeah. I was just thinking about a few things. It's nothing, really." He said. It wasn't exactly a lie, but he figured it would be best not to worry the others. "I might as well scout out ahead." With that, the ninja jumped into the trees and moved ahead, making sure to stick to the shadows.

"You got it Blinky!" Jake grinned, warping the bones in his right arm into a Claw, half a meter in length, with   the muscles intertwined into the palm, "Say the word....And WE'LL RIP THEM TO PIECES" Jake added, with Hyde taking control for a brief moment to finish Jake's sentence.

Blink smiled, and "blinked" *badum tss* at the warping of Jake's arm.

"Does that even hurt?" He may be making small chat, however, Blink hadn't left his guard down just yet.

He scanned the group behind him, making sure everyone was there and safe, it was.. unusual.. that everything was so peaceful.

Wolf suddenly stopped; eyes fixated on the trees. She held her hand out behind heras if telling the others "stop".

After a few seconds, she whispered "We're being followed".

Wolf slowly and carefully reached for a kunai knife in her weapon pouch, preparing herself for the imminent fight. "Guys, I need you to get ready. They know we're here".

...it had to be the woman.

 

Some of them were chatty, some of them hungered for battle, and then there were some that were just plain odd. But, in his big hazy, blue eyes, was the fixated image of the woman with her brown bangs and well bound body. She seemed to show a genuine concern, use few words, and checked her surroundings. A matter of fact, he thought himself "marked" already because of that heightened perception of hers. It was the perception of a leader.

 

...yes, it had to be that woman.

 

Xenneth Harusagi's reached to his long violet hair. His nails scratching through his feathery hair sent such a relaxing calm through his body that his chakra sent a small rush to the ninja tool upon his head making it twitch. The rabbit-like ears had moved as if they were alive while he was careful with his movements...up until this point that is. After all, he had been discovered, and there was no use hiding anymore, and so he head dropped down with a flurry of leaves momentarily distorting his form.

 

"Greetings, everyone." his voice was gentle and delicate as his form. His electric blue eyes had a sadness in them that only be half seen because of how his eye lids hang. He stood up revealing his delicate little stature. A slightly open white kimono had coveted his body, concealing his figure, but by the way it hugged him, he seemed to be slim and fragile. His head had the strangest instrument upon it as it looked like to be a pair of faux white rabbit ears on his head that crowned his violet hair, but swept through the sides to cover his ears."Welcome to the Usagi Territory."

 

They had progressed far...

 

Had they looked around, they would notice they had stepped into the Grass Village's area the moment they crossed the border. The sound of a river was nearby that rushed underneath the Heaven Bridge that was within the area. However, the abundance of trees, fallen and being towered over by their kin, had covered the area. The leaves blocked the sun only letting small rays cascade and speckle the ground in a few places. The shadows stretched and reached their feet from all over: perfect for ninja, but even more so for prey that hid from predators.

 

Like how a rabbit could hide in the hollows from wolves.

 

"But you must turn around now," his gentle voice somewhat squeaked in an urgent sort of cry, "The Usagi Territory cannot be disturbed. We are forced to turn away anyone who may go in any further. I urge you to comply! This is forbidden grounds.Listen to reason. Take your group and return from whence you came, please?"

 

His tone of voice was urgent, but earnest. Even then, his hands wrapped together along the fingers to interpret a desperation like a man praying for the best possible scenario. However, it did not usually lead to that. The smell of blood mixed with the crisp leaves to make an infernal scent that carried through the air when they rustled from the sweeping winds. Ninja tools ranging from kunai to shuriken were embedded in some of the trees, and not to mention his robe was stained as if he had endured some cruelty...or perhaps it was the other way around?

 

Either way, it was apparent...this place had the foreboding feeling of a graveyard.

 

The pale skin violet haired boy remained standing in silence, not saying another word as he awaited for the ninja to respond. His lids opened completely showing his hazy eyes that seemed urgent for them not to go any further, and not to mention the odd fixture that were the ears had hung in a lop manner slightly into his vision. Still, his stare was locked on them as if out of genuine concern...but had they noticed that strange haze, they would notice something else:

 

...this young man was blind.

Moments after Xenneth had shown up, Rikou, carrying a large shuriken along with a fan followed, hidden in the trees. Well, they noticed us already, Rikou thought to himself. It didn't seem to be a problem with him though, as he was still hidden. Since they didn't notice him yet, he could still surprise them.

 

He surveyed the group, finding the woman who had previously been in the Akatsuki, Wolf. As Xenneth was speaking, he picked up two kunai with explosive tags from hid ninja tools with his right hand. As his left hand had been severely injured, he preferred to use his right hand.

 

While he was to take out the entire group, his main target was Wolf. Rikou hated how she left them and joined the Leaf. Since she was from the Akatsuki she knew the most about them, being the largest threat. Rikou wanted to throw both his kunai toward her, but he knee it would be more effective to attack the entire group first. He fought the urge to attack her first and in one swift move threw the explosive kunai on opposite sides of the group.

Blink reacted quickly, throwing one of his regular kunai, knocking the explosive kunai out of the ground, sending it flinging into a tree, better that than his team mates. However, he could do nothing about the other, and it exploded. He grabbed Wolf and took the blast for her, it wasn't bad, just winding, and if whoever it was trying to attack the group swooped in, Wolf would be better in that sort of scenario. He stood wheezing, looking desperately towards the trees to spot their attackers.

Noriko's eyes widened as he saw Blink take the blast. He quiclly ran towards him

"Blink! Are you alright?" He said, genuine worry in his voice.

"Heh....... seems i was aligned with a good team. Just a few minutes in and they are already protecting each other. Good to see loyalty right of the bat" Noriko thought

His right arm and chest hurt, but figured that it would be fine. "Of course something happens as soon as I leave." With that, the ninja made his way back to the group. If the enemy didn't know he was here, then they still had an advantage. He was about half a mile from the others, though, so he wood have to be quick.

"Ice blade Jutsu!" Hidden said creating a sword made of condensed water vapor "a fight is what you want, a fight is what you get... just not with me" with that she threw a small smoke bomb and three secret liquid nitrogen bombs set to explode on comand and ran into the trees.

A dark figure glared at the young shinobi from the distant shadow of a white Birch tree. The Figure's arm arced up towards Blitz as a shadow of her palm peeked out of her long Black coat. A dark mist with the scent of a fine tea began to emanate from the palm as it sped towards him and  bound itself to his shadow .

 

All of a sudden Blitz's vision began to turn an eerie tint of Gray as the colors began to fade. Dark shadows appeared to loom all around him as the tools he had carried with him melted like candle wax in an open flame.

"Hey! Rabbit guy! What was that for?!" Jake yelled , quite annoyed that the shinobi requested their leave before hurtling explosives at them.

They were going to die here and it was all his fault! Why did he take so long to warn them? The young rabbit was not the best with punctuality, or technique, or...well...anything! He fumbled a lot, not to mention that he was no good at being a graceful little clan branch member who could channel his special skill, and not to mention he could not protect them.

 

"Hey! Rabbit guy! What was that for?!"

 

"I-It's not like I did it!" He wanted to scream it out!

 

However, it all went through his head as a dull whisper while Xenneth stood there simply coveting his saddened expression with one of his wide sleeves on his kimono. The lone little rabbit was not caring if they saw his sadness...but 'them.' Those vicious, murderous allies that brought him into the fold is what he feared the most. His hazy eyes shifted as if he could see them out the corner. He did not need to use his eyes anyway. He could hear Rikou's breath as if he was a dragon hissing flames over his shoulder.

 

Sometimes he hated this ability: this enslaved Kekkei Genkai they used for their benefit.

 

"I feel like..." his eyes narrowing as they reflected the image of the ninja before him. "...like I could die either way."

 

As usual, he had the scorn of anyone who risen up against the Akatsuki since he was acting as the sacrificial pawn. On the other hand, there was his own puppet master would cut the strings and let his body lie if he did not dance to the movement of their fingers. It was a cruel fate, and so he had to, of course, put on a show! He had to dance for the sake of not just himself, but also the lives that were in the hands of his puppet masters.

 

He disrobed: slowly but shamefully. Soon, the violet haired boy had revealed his clan's scanty battle attire for them.

 

This outfit was embarasing! Most of his family were female thanks to the genes, so they all dawned the usual garment when it came to combat: a tight black one piece was for the males as it hugged him all the way to his upper thigh reminiscent to a wrestler's attire. His legs were coveted by mesh netted leggings that were as thick as chain mail and it coated his arms to match. His hands gloved by the black leather and his lower backside had a lop of a white cotton ball resembling a rabbit's tail that paired with the ears. His robe fell to the ground and stayed at  his feet as if it was weighted. He simply stared towards the ninja as if inviting the inevitable.

 

...because, by the order of his puppet masters, it was inevitable: this slave would have to do their bidding.

 

"I-I...I won't have to kill them," he reasoned to himself as he tried to think of a pacifist solution, "I-I just got to make sure they can't fight back. M-maybe...maybe that will be good enough, right?"

 

His nose twitched smelling the scent of blood and bone from the discarded corposes that riddled the forest from days ago. It was a grim reminder that he was being delusional when it came to the policy of the Akatsuki's plan for taking prisoners. The reality set in, once more, he had to remind himself just how bad of a situation this was. He did not need to say anymore as he took and stance, standing his ground standing before the group in wait. The explosions were a surprise, but not so much that it did not throw him off balance. He did not hide from them.

 

After all....they were going to die here.

The shadowy figure began to twitch her fingers about like a puppet master readying herself for a marionette. Blitz's palms began to twitch in rythm to the shadow's fingers, A feint whisper of a young girl no more than five years old could be heard in his psyche. "You shouldn't have come here" The voice cheered in an eerie tone as his legs uncontrollably started to twitch and creep closer towards his friends. "But I'm so glad you did"

Blitz walked forward in silence. It wasn't that he hadn't heard the girl, but rather just thinking of a way to buy time. "This girl is most likely with the people who attacked the others. It looks like she uses shadows to make others her puppets, which means she uses more chakra the more I resist." He thought. The ninja then gave a dark smirk as he tried to slow his pace to a near stop and lift his hands. Right now, it was a mere test of strength between his attacker's chakra and him.

"Nice try, Said the Spider to the Fly~"Eriza smiled in a sadistic tone, her voice still masked with that of a young girl. She had within her far more chakra than that of a Chunin < as it stiid her's equaled that of a small army of Jounin. This was Chakra that she had  ...."extracted" from less willing Shinobi in the years of inhuman experiments she had conducted in attempts to rid the world of it's addiction.
