Wolf tightly clenched her kunai knife and held it against her chest; making eye contact with Xenneth and Eriza. She then scanned the area, mentally taking attendance of each of her group members. When she noticed that everyone was ready to pounce or had already started a jutsu, she threw her arm out, blocking everyone behind her.

 

"Stand down"

She commanded.

Explosions, threats, rabbits... hectic wasn't really the word for the past few moments, as Zachariah Fox dusted himself off at the back of the rag tag group

That's a fine howdy do... If i wanted to party I would have went with those gypsy's I met last week, at least they had good spirits.

 

He sighed and continued to dust himself off, and felt his bag for a quick inventory, and out of habit sort of muttered to himself "...this is going to turn violent.... people will probably die or run away...or both..."

he looked over his shoulder behind him... as far as he could tell there was no one there  

I guess no one would mind if the merchant just sort of took a few steps back... 

 

He did just that, not entirely sure if it was to keep himself safe or put himself into more danger

Rikou watched in the shadows, changing his location with the hope that he won't be noticed. He saw Wolf a distance away. Rikou no longer just wanted to kill Wolf, but the entire group she was in. They all seemed to be working with her. When Blink defendernher iy made Rikou even more angry. Why would they protect someone who was a previous threat? Why go out of their way and take the attack for her?

 

As the events unfolded, Rikou fought the urge to make any irrational decisions. His main target was Wolf, amd he had to deal with her first. Grabbing the fan on his back, he thought of ways to attack. He took the fan off of his back and grabbed three shuriken. He used his only explosive kunai when he attacked earlier, so he needed to be more precise with this attack, but fortunately for him, that was one of his best skills.

 

Using his fan he created a large gust of wind. Immeadiately after, he focused his chakra into the wind, causing him to have more control. "Wind preciscion jutsu!" he yelled throwing the three shuriken. He now had more control over ther movement.

 

The shuriken seemed to be randomly thrown, with no apparent target. However, at the last second he moved them directly toward his target, Wolf.

Wolf was still awaiting a reaponse from Xenneth and Eriza when she just barely noticed Rikou's atack. Wolf leaped out of the way of the 3 shuriken, using the surrounding trees to acrobat from, using the the fluctuating chakra in her feet to soften the impacts. One shuriken managed to cut her upper arm, however, resulting in a good-sized wound.

 

Wolf grasped her cut arm and flinched and landed on the ground, feet first. She tightened her grip in her arms, causing blood to practically pour out from between her fingers. Wolf looked up at Rikou and the other two.

Blink stood wearily, clutching his stomach, his mouth dripped of crimson blood, maybe the blast had taken a worse toll than he thought. He turned and surveyed his group, everyone seemed to be in order. However, the merchant man was stepping back. Blink made a mental note to keep an eye on him, make sure he wasn't hurt.

He turned back towards his opponents, blinded by rage. 

He did a several quick hand sings, 

"Poison tip jutsu!"

Poison oak and ivy flooded towards him from the trees, aswell as out of a jar in his backpack, launching itself into his compartment of kunai, he pulled one out, it was a deep dark green, he clenched it, blindly throwing it at the trees, hoping to make one of his opponents move.

Wolf snapped, lashing her uninjured arm out in Blink's direction.

"I TOLD YOU GUYS TO STAND DOWN! THAT IS AN ORDER! DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME!?"

 

Her breathing became more shallow and she tried to focus on the enemies in front of her and her comrades; making sure that everyone was still.

Blink growled deeply. But he stood down, he knew she was right. His anger welled inside him but he kept his ferocity down. His breathing became heavy as he fought the urge to leap into the trees.

His eyes burned with hatred. 

"I-m, sorry.." He stuttered, slowly his breathing shallowed out once more.

Blood, he cringed at the sound of the droplets hitting the ground. Something not common for a monster.

 

The rabbit was nothing of the sort. He sympathized, even now as he could feel and hear the air being pierced by the attacks launched towards the leader. Her cries were heard, but he did not seem to have an answer. Not aloud, but at the very least, the young boy's heart whispered the most fondest wishes for him to hear and him to hear alone.

 

"I just want this fight to be over..."

 

He thought this as his feet moved to take a defensive stance. He seemed very rattled by the Kunai, even if he had heard it coming from piercing the around him. It was a sudden reaction at the thought of being hurt. After all, he was a fragile thing. Anyone could look at him and get that impression. However, at moments like this, this is where the violet haired boy really shined. With no one answering, he knew they would leave things to him to answer since he was their slave, representative, and anything else to their bidding seeing that he had little to no choice.

 

Maybe if they made a deal, this fight would be over?

 

"T-Trade." he responded to Wolf finally with his sofft frail voice. His misty blue irises staring at the kinouchi, "They...they want the one who committed treason...and then we want the rest to leave. I-I think that is all."

 

He placed emphasis on the "think" part. Xenneth did not know the Akatsuki's plans. He was just a grunt after all. He was told nothing but the basic gist. The rabbits were to stop everyone from proceeding any further into the Grass Village's surroundings or into the Rice Country. The place had been popular as of late most likely because the villages surrounding were figuring out where the mercenaries were located. If they were unsatisfied by the Harusagi clan's recon and interception of targets...

 

Well...he rather not think about the end result. Not again.

 

"Please, comply..." Xenneth had beckoned to Wolf, "...at least spare your team from an unnecessary fight and return to...the Land of Fire?"

 

It had dawned on him where the ninja said they were from earlier. If that was true, he would imagine that rumored "Will of Fire" would not go quietly into the dark. Just saying the name of the country made him swallow and pray in his mind this would not lead to an unnecessary fight.

Fox heard the voices of compromise spring to his ears, and with some glee bounded back to the front of the group 

 

"If a weather beaten wanderer can give his input, we don't exactly have a lot of options here. If we refuse we face a battle, one in which people may die, and even if it be our "foes" they seem like decent folk I would hate to throw their lives by the way side. However if you give yourself in, well that would defeat the whole purpose and besides I doubt we can trust them... no offense force of habit and all... Or we could try to recruit these fellows to our cause... We do have a cause don't we? Something we can appeal to their moral high ground?...."

Blink looked towards the merchant's direction.

"If they hadn't attacked us like this, we could've come to a less violent conclusion, however, they started this fight, meaning their last thought is compromise. These foes are far from decent folk, never trust someone by a welcoming nature."

He stood straight, his breathing normal again. He crossed his arms over his chest.

"Well?" He murmured to Wolf.

Rikou jumped out of the trees to move closer, still holding his fan. He didn't need compromise, since he wanted to kill the group. Still, he resisted the urge to attack. He knew it would be difficult to attack more than one, but they did stand in the way, outnumbering them.

 

He looked at Wolf, who had been injured in Rikou's previous attack, then at Xenneth.  "Things have gotten complicated..." he said. He decided it was best to see what would happen.

Eriza tilted her head to the side and stood silent. Her mask did not allow for vision yet it was as if she could see him very clearly. Moments passed in silence before she finally spoke.

 

"My....My....You're quite a  special one aren't you?" She praised in a friendly tone as she knelt in front of him, keeping her fists clenched as to prevent his body's movement.

"You're Adorable~" Eriza giggled in a smooth silky tone, her voice no longer masked by her jutsu. She quickly clenched her fists , manipulating the Chakra pathways in Blitz's body to force him to kneel with both knees to the ground. She walked slowly towards him humming an old children's song.

He didn't even know what the girl had done, and was honestly a bit unnerved as she spoke to him. "What are you talking about?" He asked, slowly looking up at his temporary captor. To be honest, he had heard others say that behind his back, and he had no idea what they were talking about. It wasn't like he knew some unknown jutsu or anything.

"I guess they really "haven't" told him...." She murmured to herself before glaring at him through her wooden mask. "You're going to be very....entertaining" She whispered softly as she held his hands.  A strange purple hue emanated from her palms causing an excessively sharp and painful burning sensation in Blitz's palm.

 

"Very entertaining..." She re-stated before letting go and slowly getting back to her feet.

 

"Now then....I have other matters to attend to"  She spoke calmly. "But I have a feeling we'll meet again..." She added before taking her leave, the jutsu that kept him forced to the ground was now broken.

Blitz felt control of his body return to him and immediately stood up and backed away, his hands shaking from the pain. "What just happened?" He thought to himself. The ninja could tell that something wasn't right, but was having a hard time even thinking straight. The ninja then looked at his current surroundings one last time before jumping into the canopy and heading towards the others.

Wolf looked at Xenneth with a blank expression. For a moment, she had forgotten that she was a part of the Akatuaki and she believed that she had always been a ninja of the Hidden Leaf. It was when Xenneth mentioned her name did the memories of all her crimes flood back to her. Wolf closed her eyes...

"Is that a curse mark...? Blitz, if you are to be considered dangerous at this point, I recommend that you leave right now. I will take care of you myself".

"I'm fine." Blitz said, not really sure of what Wolf was talking about. He knew what a curse mark was from some of the stories others told, but hadn't really seen one up close. It didn't take long for Blitz to notice the two other akatsuki members, and a trace of anger entered his expression.

He was right, and Xenneth knew it. However, it was not like he had a choice. His misty dull eyes were hopeless, knowing that a fight was inevitable because of that legendary, but now witnessed, "Will of Fire" and his difficult situation that he was in because of his family. His right hand reached to his back going for one more weapon that he had kept in store, especially for himself. The weapon had been a small rod, but with a whip of his arm, it extended to a bo that was around his height.

 

It was no special bo. Just an ordinary iron pole, but it had its uses.

Xenneth's rabbit-like ears twitched on his head and his eyes seemed to follow as the lids come to a near close. The little instruments were not just for display, and he seemed to be well-aware now of his situation. This group was big, had many diverse skills a matter of fact, and was communicating efficiently. Even now, the formation became apparent as they seemed follow their leaders orders and prepare to group together.

 

It was a good team...but that was a flaw.

 

*TAP! TAP!*

 

The bo lifted and tapped the massive fallen tree trunk Xenneth stood upon.

 

*TAP! TAP! TAP-TAP-TAP!*

 

The taps became more rapid as they continued for a full five seconds.

 

Pretty soon, it was all there in Xenneth's head. The forest's lay out, any and all bodies that were within a mile radius. He stayed still taking it all into his head as if it was a chessboard and he knew where all the pieces would lie: his knight and queen were not far and their pieces were there before him. They had Kings, a Queen, Bishops, and Knights. Their formation was steadfast and ready, but then there was him: the pawn.

 

Even as a pawn, he knew the value of intelligence from so many reconassaince. Sure, rabbits were frail, weak creatures. They were beautiful small animals, but even the small ones had the most versatile defenses when they were cornered. As his grand told him, how else would a tribe of rabbits survive so long? His ears stopped twitching and so did the taps. There was one more thing that this rapid movement convey for him: where he set all his traps.

 

"You all seem like good people, but..."

 

He stopped the thought as he lifted his figners making the hand sign for the tiger. His chakra acting like a detonator as there was a petite wave that made exploding tags set off around the group, planted around the base of the several trees that surrounded them in the forest. The many explosions were not large enough to do damage, but the shock would certainly throw their feet off balance if not careful. The true danger lied in the exploded base of the trees around them. The massive oaks were diminished almost instantly from the explosions, leaving the massive debris and trunks to plummet and fall amongst the group that a rockslide could not compare to with its massive danger.

 

As this occured, Xenneth had spun on his heel, taking the chance to leap into the fray of the falling debris. He leapt among the falling massive pieces of the plummeting trunks. His ears being a perfect radar as he navigated the chaos and hid himself betwixt the thunderous sounds and plummeting debris.

Rikou knew that, but he wasn't going to retreat yet. He needed a way to have the others out of his way, but he didn't know how. He closed his eyes, thinking. He was proficient in wind style jutsu, which is useful for cutting. He was also attacks at a distance, giving him an advantage. How could he use that to effectively attack everyone?

 

Rikou had an idea. They were surrounded by trees, which could be cut by a wind attack, though the attack would have to be strong enough. The trees would fall over, injuring the group and causing confusion. He could also stand from a safe distance while attacking.

 

Rikou was about to raise his fan planning his second attack when explosive tags were set off. Rikou opened his eyes to see that the explosions were from the bade of the trees, causing the debris to fall. Rikou jumped out of the way, barely being crushed by a large trunk. As he jumped out of his way he used his fan to slice the debris in his way. This was difficult for him, as he had to do it quickly, concentrating his chakra.

 

While he was about to slice another piece of debris in front of him, another struck him from behind him. Rikou fell down hard with the piece of the trunk that had struck him, crushing part of his right leg. "Looks like someone already used my idea," Rikou said quietly, pinned by the trunk.

"Need some help?" Eriza smiled from above as she jumped down rikotcheting herself from the forest canopies before landing gracefully on the grass in front of him.

 

"looks to me like you're a little... Stumped" She giggled, Eriza knew her pun was horrible but she couldn't help herself.

Blitz grit his teeth as he shielded himself from the small pieces of debris from the explosion. "Now why did you have to go and do that." He said, before noticing Erza. The ninja then gave a slight smirk before lifting his hands and forming a ball of lightning in between his palms. "Blitzkrieg." With that, Blitz slammed the ball into the earth, causing a feed back of several bolts of lightning to move over ground and towards the akatsuki members, tearing it up as they got further from their source.
