gaming Most Repetitive Video Games!

Games. Games are fun right?! WRONG!! Well, sometimes wrong. Sometimes games can be fun, other times, they aren't as fun, one reason could be due to the extremely repetitive nature of the game. So we shall discuss that here. What are some games that just scream repetitive to you?  Why is it repetitive?

Here is a recent one for me:

Hand of Fate: This rogue-lite card game RPG seems like it has tons of promise, but the game quickly becomes insanely repetitive with its repeating cards, dull combat and constant loading. Then if you get killed, you must start all over, like any rogue-lite, but here, it just feels so tedious that I have found myself to become bored with the game in less than a week. Good thing it was Free with Gold on Xbox One.

As much as I like it, Dynasty Warriors, especially the bunch between DW4 and DW8. I mean it's basically "swing your weapon and defeat a billion dudes on your screen until your thumb goes numb" and the fact that each game is basically a remake of the last game with not much change doesn't help. 3 was a big improvement over 2, 4 was big over 3, but 5-7 feels like nothing's changed and just come off as the same shit with minimal changes. 8 was the first in a while that actually felt like a step forward

Destiny's core is built off of repetitiveness. When you're on a constant grind through the same missions, strikes and raids constantly with little else to do in the way of entertainment...things get damn repetitive really quickly.

The Order: 1886 is the most repetitive game I have ever put my hands on. 5 years of planning and development should not of gave us such a crappy game. Call of Duty is also very repetitive (wait for the haters to come), its core idea is do THE SAME THING OVER AND OVER, its crap and it gets boring after the first month.

Destiny is basically do this, then do that, then do the same thing again. I play Destiny myself, but the only reason I play it is because I have friends that play it.

I'm shocked no one has mentioned this yet, but...I gotta go with "E.T." for the Atari 2600. I have personally played it, on an actual Atari 2600 machine with an original Atari controller and my own cartridge copy of the game. (They're not hard to find, despite the fact that millions of them were destroyed in a New Mexico landfill years ago.)

It is as repetitive, and boring, and just plain BAD, as everyone says it was. Many Atari games are very repetitive by today's standards. However, they were also fun to play. E.T. is not fun to play, which makes the drudgery far more painful.

E.T. is walking across a field. There are holes in the field. E.T. will fall into these holes one by one to see if anything is at the bottom. Your job is to levitate him out of the holes in an extremely slow and frustrating manner, until you run out of holes. That is the entire game.

It killed gaming in the Western world for 4-5 years.

The Pokémon series, hands down.

I get that that Pokémon is skewed to a younger audience, but it still doesn't excuse how painfully boring it is. Rather than taking risks with the gameplay, they always play it safe and stick with the same formulas they've been using since the Red/Blue days. I know that they've done changes like the Physical/Special split, but even so, it doesn't excuse how Game Freak always takes the easy way out with these games. And it really doesn't help that with each new generation, the games get easier. Again, I know this series is mainly for children, but still.

Cookie Clicker? Cookie Clicker. :P

Diablo, as much as I love it, can sometimes get a little stale. Kill everything, get loot, salvage loot, gamble for legendaries, rinse and repeat. Of course it gets less repetitive if you're using a godlike-one-hit-KO-the-entire-screen build. :derp:

Don't forget the TV series. The plot became awfully recycled to the same thing instead of actually focusing on the main plot. The series itself has become lost, just like the TV series itself would.
