Luna or Celestia?

I've been wondering which Princess is mostly liked now? Before, I saw everyone liking Luna a lot. But now a lot of people have started to like Celestia.

 

I personally prefer Celestia more, and don't get me wrong, I like Luna a lot too.

I really do like them both. I feel more drawn to Luna in terms of being able to relate to her, but I look at Celestia and I love her too, because she's like a wise caretaker, which is something I wish I had in my life.

I like them both, but Celestia will always be my favorite pony. I really wish we saw more of her in the show honestly.

I do like Celestia, ancient and wise but still with a wicked sense of humour ('A Bird in the Hoof', need I say more?)  But... she doesn't have the same level of background or development as Luna.

 

I love the whole story of how Luna became disenchanted with living in her sister's shadow, then rebelled against her, resulting in a confrontation that saw her banished to the moon for a thousand years.  On her return she struggled to reintegrate into Equestrian society as seen in 'Luna Eclipsed', but she then learned to accept her role, and in time even came to embrace it as we saw in the arc of episodes where she helped each of the CMC overcome their anxieties by visiting them in their dreams.  Lastly, we saw her in 'Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep' finally shedding the emotional burden of her past and finding her peace.

 

I still want to see a Celestia episode, but even if we do get one in series six it'll to be too little, too late for her to overtake the princess of the night as my favourite.

I like both. To me they've always complemented each other. That is, until the cartoon started ignoring Celestia and turning her into a moron and then hyping Luna so much I'm sick of her. So I went with Celestia.

My only beef with things like this is that in this fandom (and the Internet in general), if one thing is less popular than another, it is deemed immediately worthless by a handful of people, and its supporters looked down upon. Is this line of thinking stupid? Or course. Does it happen all the time? Pretty much.

 

As a supporter of unappreciated/unpopular/overlooked things, it's my number one source of frustration in this fandom.

I wouldn't say that for all, from my perspective this is rather harmless. I like Luna as a character more, but Celestia is very close as well. I do not consider any character "worthless" other than maybe Blueblood or something.

EDIT: And while I understand that saying someone is worse than Blueblood is a dirty, DIRTY insult in our community, I'd rather spend time with him than some of the people around here. Even he is less of a joy vampire.

Tia's cool but I prefer Lulu. I prefer those who are like minded to myself, being Luna seems to be the younger, less mature minded one, I gravitate towards her. Tia's more the wise one with the answers to everything (advise wise) that's more mature but also has an immature side to her.

I'm kinda surprised at how close this poll is. It always seems like Luna is overwhelmingly more popular.

 

I'm glad to see Celestia keeping up. It does seem like people tend to judge her unfairly, so its good to see that she is getting some appreciation.

 

and Luna wouldn't want her big sis to feel unapreciated!
