When life knocks you down, do you ever feel like

It's my belief that people are often stronger than they realize.  That they don't really know what they can or can't endure until they've no choice in the matter.  And I think you've confused masochism with perseverance.  Sometimes life gets better, and you end up at a vantage point where you wonder why you ever doubted that it would.  Sometimes you have to take an active part in that improvement.

I guess you could "stay down," but odds are that you'll miss a lot of worthwhile things while lying there on the floor.  It might be easier in some ways, but easier doesn't necessarily mean better.

When life gives you a lemon, you take a huge bite of the lemon, say "Thanks!", and ask if life has any more lemons.

This is your average, everyday annoying signature.

Are you seriously reading this?

Really?

Wow. I didn't think you'd actually waste enough time to get to the fourth line.

Or the fifth, for that matter. What, am I interesting or something?

Plenty of times. I keep getting back up. Not because I am strong, not because I have tons of willpower, but because I just can't do anything else. Well, that is not the sole reason for that now, but it was before. Now I have my boyfriend, my friends, and my simple joys, all of these I try to remember when life has me at a low point. I can continue for them, at the very least. Fear also keeps me from staying down, but I am not strong willed, far from it. Honestly, If I didn't have any of these reasons, I most likely wouldn't be able to get back up.

I have been depressed, I have been angry at the world, I have felt murderous lust, and I have felt pure joy. Read in order, that is my timeline of emotion. Point is, it doesn't matter what brings you down, it's the things around you, you tend to block out, that you should focus on; friends, family, and activities that bring you joy. :) So, the feeling depends on what you focus on. And if you don't have a friend, I am available ;) (I don't know the meaning of too many friends  )

When Life knocks me down I stay down until Life feels sorry for me and picks me back up.

I don't really have a lot of Determination...which is probably one of the worst things about me.

I feel like giving up every time that happens, especially because of how often it does happen. Still, I pitifully struggle to my feet every time for the sole reason that I can't do anything else. If I give up, it's going to burden my parents' lives. If I try to find another way, stress is going to take over my life again. I can't die either because I'm too much of a coward to do even that. So, I guess I'll keep chasing fantasies. That's all I can do anymore.

Dr. Seuss says it perfectly:

“I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind,

Some come from ahead, some come from behind.

But I’ve bought a big bat, I’m all ready you see.

Now my troubles are going to have troubles with me.”

Why bother staying down when you can be defiant instead? I prefer to be who I am. So I follow the above quote. I may win some and I may lose some, but when it comes to life, what doesn’t kill me had better start running.
