"I'm Mist Twister," Mist said to Dust Sweeper, "and it's a pleasure to meet you." Mist looked at the ponies in the room, "you know what this party needs? Balloons! I'm gonna see if the front desk has any." Mist ran out the room and down the hallway.

Suddenly Mist collided with a pony who was walking to his room. "I'm sorry about," that Mist said to the pony, "I wasn't looking where I was going."

Mentis sized him up. "I think that was a little obvious there...Hold on a batpony you are a long way from Hollow Shades there young fella." Mentis gave him another look. "Well these things happen I won't hold it against you, my name is Mentis Soliloquy but most call me Sol my name is a little flash I suppose, what's yours?" Mentis held out his hoof for Mist to shake.

"My name's Mist Twister," said Mist as he shook Mentis's hoof, "nice to meet you. Although I'm actually from Ponyville not Hollow Shades." Mist gave a friendly smile. "Hey there's a sorta party but not really party going on in the room up the hall. I'm actually going to see if the front desk has any balloons. You want to join me?"

Diva let go of Dust, lightly guiding her into the room with a wing. "Don't mention it , hon!" She called out, hopping out of the door and into the corridor after Mist Twister. "BALLOONS ARE GREAT! FIRECRACKERS.... AHHH~. THE HEAT. THE BANGS. THE FLASHES!" She swooned at the mental image. 

 

Following behind Mist Twister, she hovered a few feet above the ground, albeit unsteadily. She caught sight of Mentis. "OOOOHH, YOU COME VERY FAR FROM THE WEST, NO? YOU MUST FEEL COLD HERE!" She commented, observing his cowpony outfit and flying in an unsteady circle above him.

''So, what is the plan, party in here? because this is a little small room for a lot of ponies.'' She looks around. ''Maybe we should move some where a bit bigger?'' Dust walks towards the rest of the ponies. ''Also, balloons can be nice, mainlly when they pop'' Dust smiles.

Sigma had to take a moment to take it all in when he walked through the door. He felt vaguely like he should be wearing a monocle, the setting was so posh. 

 

Eventually he stopped staring and made for reception. 'Hi..I mean Hello...sir. Sigma'

 

'Here you go sir' the receptionist said, handing him a gold key '312'

 

Sigma took the key and headed for the elevator still remarking 'man they said treated richly but ... this would suit Fancy Pants' He then stopped and saw something behind the counter:

"BALLOONS!!!". He lowered his head and blushed when he realized he had shouted. And that a large proportion of the hotel had probably heard. *Right* he thought to himself *Go to your room, unpack and then procure balloons. What was it again? floor 5? Cool. 5s are cool.*

 

And then he pushed got on the lift and zipped off, trying to avoid what he assumed was a judgmental stare from the stallion operating it.

"That sounds like fun and it is why I am here."

Mentis looked up to the playful pegasus. "It's not a cowboy hat." He takes it off, and draws not the the insignia on it. "It's a royal guards slouch hat, it was my fathers he left to me when he passed on." He put the hat back on his head. "I also hail from Cloudsdale so not as far as you think...? Um who are you anyway?"

Diva scooped up the hat and put it on her own head, inspecting her reflection on the polished white floor. "OH, I AM DIVA LA VIDA, BUT JUST CALL ME DIVA, DEARIE!" She cooed.

 

She shook her head and sat the cap back on Mentis's head, albeit skewdly. "YOUR HAT LOOKS SPLENDID ON YOU, THOUGH FOR ME ITS NOT MY STYLE."

"I thought it really brought out your eyes though," Mist said to Diva with a smile, "but back to business. We have balloons to find."

As if on que Mist heard somepony from the lobby shout the word balloon. "I guess we're not thr only ones looking for balloons," Mist said as he headed to the elevator.

Lightning silently rolls next to Mist on his board.

"So, what were things like for you before you got an invite here?"

He was genuinely curious to hear the others stories, and in time, he hoped to get around to everyone, but first, he must start with the first person he met.

"I mean, obviously you're a Bat-Pony, I mean like, what was your life like before all this?

"Well it is a males hat so yeah might not suit you so much, but hey thanks for just borrowing my hat and all." He looked back at the two other ponies in front of him. "So where is this so called party then, which room?" Mentis talks out loud to no one. "Maybe I should go put my things in my room?" Raising his hoof to his chin in thought.

"That might be helpful. And when you're done the party's in Room 308," Mist said with a smile, "hopefully we'll see you there with some balloons."

 

Mist turned to Lightning, who had skated up beside him, "I've actually been training to be part of Luna's royal guard," Mist said answering Lightning's question, "my great great grand father Typhoon Twister was actually part of Luna's original guard. What about you what was your life like?"

Lightning tried to avoid the question, and continued on about Mist's life. Eventually, they'd figure it out.

'Luna's original guard? Wow, he must've been quite a big deal. And I'm sure you'll make it into Luna's guard, if your great great grandfather can do it, so can you."

[OOC: No, I'm not pointing out Lightning's dark past to make it so more attention is diverted onto him, just to spice things up a lil' ]

Diva comically looked between Mist and Mentis, a dumbfounded look on her face.

 

"There was a party? In my Room?" she questioned, genuinely confused. "I don't wanna set my room on fire..."

 

She darted over to the reception, scaring the receptionist once more. "THERE'S GOT TO BE A BETTER PLACE TO HOLD A PARTY"

"Easy gorgeous," said Mist rushing over to meet Diva at the reception, "no need to scare the receptionist. There's not really a party. Just that all the ponies in your room feels like a party. That's why I wanted to get some balloons." Mist turned to the receptionist, "speaking of do you have any,"

"Here you go," said the receptionist giving Mist a bag of balloons. Mist turned to his new friends and smiled, "hazar!" he shouted happily, "we have balloons!"

"Ah... Just a little gathering." she sighed in acknowledgement, blushing slightly at the compliment. "I still think my room is a terrible place to hold a gathering"

 

Diva's grumbled a little. she patted her stomach. "WHEN DOES THE RESORT'S BUFFET OPEN, ANYWAY? I'M STARTING TO GET THE MUNCHIES."

Mentis looked at Diva. "The munchies? Who taught you Equestrian? I just said that out loud, ah Luna..." Mentis's face went bright red and he ran off towards his room. Well I just uninvited myself from that party. He quickly opened the door and went in forgetting to lock it in his panic.

Lightning watched the embarrassed pony run away, and was tempted to go check if he was OK, but he decided against it, the stallion probably just wanted to be in the comfort of his own privacy.

Whilst all the ponies bickered about a party, Lightning slouched into a nearby chair. He was exhausted after the hike from his "home" up here. But he also felt refreshed, this seem'd like it'd be fun. Lightning started to daydream about the bed back in his room, losing focus on everything around him.

"The buffet opens in an hour," said the receptionist, "however room service is open 24/7."

Mist smiled, "perfect," he said to Diva, "since you think your place is not right for a gathering we can move the party to my place and I'll order something yummy to snack on."

Sigma heard some commotion going down the stairs as the elevator arrived.

 

"It even dings..." he remarked. He walked down the hall to his room past the open door of 309 and arrived at his room. He stopped to admire this too. It was nearly as classy as the lobby.

 

He wasted no time unpacking his things. And by unpacking of course he meant getting things out of his bag to be sorted and put away... sometime.

 

Bow tie, big book of stuff, miscellaneous measuring instruments, sunglasses... wait, sunglasses? Okay...and finally, the snowball cannon! Though he doubted he would get to use it.

 

This done he dashed downstairs and saw a cluster of ponies gathered there. He approached them and said 'Hello my good ponies'. Then one ran away. 'Well he's out'

"THAT'S GREAT, MIST! Hey uh... Gimme a moment~" Diva trailed off, using her feathers to point towards the rooms, and then bolted off in said direction. She hopped up the stairs and fluttered into Mentis's room, forgetting to knock the door.

 

As usual, a little trail of feathers from her crash course marked her path.

Mist approached the newcomer and smiled, "sup," he said happily, "I'm Mist Twister and there's a party in room 209 see you there bro." Mist walked into the elevator to try to catch up to Mentis. He got off and walked down the hallway and noticed one door slightly open.

He knocked on the door. " Yo Mentis you in there?" Mist asked.

Mentis was on his bed moping from his misplaced words, then both Diva and Mist come in and talk to him at the same time. He looked up left then right. "How did you both get in here? Aw the damn door! And the Window, I'm sorry Diva I did not mean you spoke badly I just oh I'm not good at apologies." His head went down a little and looked to the floor.

Diva hugged Mentis with her wings, covering the stallion's face with feathers. "Awww...Don't worry about it dearie~. I hardly noticed!" She confessed. She pulled Mentis up and forcefully pushed him past Mist and out of the door. "NOW GET BACK OUT THERE AND HAVE SOME FUN~"

"Aww yeah party time!" Mist shouted happily as he followed Diva and Mentis out the door, "this is gonna be great." Mist turned to Mentis, "FWI the party has been moved to my room which is Room 209. I'm just gonna grab the wine from Diva's room and meet you down there.

Mist ran off to Diva's room and saw Dust standing by herself. " Hey Dust the party's being moved to Room 209," he said as he picked up the wine and headed out the room, "see you there."
