I'm relieved I didn't receive a warning. I had not intended harm so perhaps the mods realised.

Anyone else had threads removed?

:-D

Move this to Feedback as it was Forum policy related.

Some topics are locked as they are formatted or written in such a way that does not invite open discussion. We normally direct people to do a blog as they are more suited for editorial style concepts. Some topics are locked directing members that the post would be better suited as a status update. I know that this may sound elitist, but a one or two line post is more at home on a social media feed than a message board. This message board in particular prizes substance and open discussion. We hide and lock some posts because we feel that the subject matter is not appropriate for the forums (paraphilia, NSFW, flame bait, etc). We also move topics that are mis-categorized (placed in the wrong area). The only one of the above that will get you a warning with points is flame baiting and NSFW. The others we would generally just lock and move on. A few are locked because we have long established topics that are the exclusive place to posts said topic in.

That is pretty much it in a nutshell.   :)

Are you referring to the topic you made discussing NSFW content?

If so, that thread was deleted because NSFW content/talk of any sort is not permitted on this site.

With one huge exception being a clop thread in the "debate pit" which is hidden to all members with less than 40 posts and to users who have shown themselves not able to be civil in that subforum. It is highly regulated with strict rules though one of which being that NSFW pictures still can't be posted, discussion can't get too graphic ect... and it mostly focuses on what you think of it and the controversy surrounding it. It was made as a sort of containment policy to the various clop discussion threads in the past that tended to end in rather nasty flame wars.Since then that has been a sort one stop shop for talking about that sort of thing on here.

It is a policy that has so far actually worked which is actually a relief.

I am already aware of that thread, but I decided against mentioning it in my original post.

Yes it was on NSFW as a subject and how kids can stumble upon it.

I've since been contacted by a mod and informed of the clop area after 40 posts.

I'm so glad that content is kept out. DeviantART is full of it.

True, but you can turn the mature filter on so that you don't have to see that stuff and the same is true for Derpibooru which has an even better filter system though as you mentioned in that thread that got deleted googles "safe search" isn't really safe which even as someone who does enjoy that sort of thing can understand why that concerns people.

Yes I find filters very ineffective!!

You enjoy the nsfw stuff? Guess I can't discuss here though :-o

Really? I've never had any problems with the filters. Are you completely sure they're actually on?

Depends which search function you're talking about. On YouTube and Google they are fully on but things creep through :-(

What's flame baiting cuz I never heard that phrase used before

Me neither!!

Google and Youtube's filter are absolute crap, I'll admit that. But anywhere else (like DeviantArt, Derpibooru, etc.), the filters seemed to work fine.

Well, they worked fine last time I actually had them on, I should say.

Usually any post that intentionally tries to start a flame war.

OK guys this topic does not exist to discuss NSFW filters. This was to explain why topics get locked, not serve as a way to circumvent the original locked discussion.
