Will you go to see the MLP Movie?

Recommended Posts

I'm probably gonna wait until it comes out on iTunes/Netflix unless a friend invites me. I want to watch the movie and want to support the staff, but I can't see me ever going to the theaters by myself to watch it. Besides, camrips are terrible quality anyway, among other things

Your account picture of Rainbow Dash looks completely unimpressed of what's going on right now.

Nope. xD

I'll wait to watch it at home through the Internet like the neckbeard pirating pleb I am xD

A hoy internet neckbeard, where should you sail to next in the sea of torrents?

Me: 1 ticket for My Little Pony, please.

Box office worker: AHAHAHAAHHAAHHAHAAHAHA!

Me: :( (why doesn't this place have a kiosk?)

I'd instead respond by putting my sunglasses (maybe not however, I'd probably be going at night :dash:), exclaim "Deal with it!", and wave my cool leather jacket  :orly: (because if I'm planning to see ponies at the cinema, I'll do it in style  :orly: )

Will you go?

Absolutely not, though I wish I could.

It's pretty hard to organize that from where I live. I'm not even sure if it will be played in Poland that fast, as most likely they'll be dubbing it first, though I have no idea.

Alone? Or with friends?

I don't have contacts with real life friends, thanks to job and living in different places. I'm the only one liking ponies anyway, so even if - I'd go alone.

Actually hold your horses, I forgot about my younger brother, who also loves ponies (my work!). So most likely I'd go with him, so we totally would have fun. Perhaps even my sisters would get interested as they have encountered MLP before and they know about me liking ponies, so who knows?  :-P

Would you feel awkward if the theater was filled with girls?

Being surrounded by little girls and their parents could be awkward I admit, but that wouldn't stop me. Going back would be a shame.. aaaand a waste of money, since getting to theater wouldn't be free as there aren't any in my city.

But on the other hoof - what if there would be more people like us? There would be high chances of getting new friends, perhaps even a girlfriend? just kidding, but you never know!  ^_^

Would you make it to the premiere or go the next week or so?

No preference. Though it depends, because if I'd go with a group of friends (that I don't have) then making it to the premiere would be better. Bigger party etc..  :P If alone, then perhaps less crowded moments? But it doesn't matter that much.

Would you cosplay or bring some pony thingies like plushies?

When going alone - Bringing plushie or cosplaying would be awkward. If I'd have some pony shirt etc. then why not, but turning myself into a girl or hold a plushie could be kinda hard to bear.

With friends doing the same - Who cares, that would be fun! Shameless ponification!!!

is it getting a full release?

if there's at least one theater within an hour of my house, I'm sure I'll go.

Guys, the two most important metrics for how successful a movie is are
1) opening weekend sales
2) opening DAY sales

If you want more of this sort of thing, I highly recommend that you try to go opening night.

I don't think you should feel embarrassed to go see it in theaters, I know I will try. And I say this, because when the "Josie and The Pussycats" Movie came out, I saw at the theater right next door to my apartment complex I lived in at the time, and yes I was the only one watching it in the theater, however, the point I'm trying to make, is no one there/ticket seller batted an eye at it, and guess what, the "Josie" movie was mainly intended to be a girls movie, but I still enjoyed it and no one working there said anything, and I went during the day (around I believe it was 11am on a weekday).

So I say, don't worry about it, I mean look at it this way, Brad Jones (Cinema Snob) saw a Barbie movie in theaters recently during the day. And From what I understood, 99% of those at his local theater didn't bat an eye at it either. So I say go for it. I mean the trailer got Animat's attention to the point where he will see it too, and not just because it's his job either.  So I say don't worry about what others may think, I say go for it and have fun.

If I do go, I'll probably do it with a friend or two. I dislike going alone... Anywhere, to be honest.

I plan on seeing it in the theater, my hubby might come with. I am going to go to a late showing for many reasons. I hate crowds and little kids at movies tend to ruin my experience. I would not mind going with bronies/pegasisters if I knew where they were in my area. I saw a preview of the MLP movie yesterday (I was going to see Despicable Me 3, which turned out to be in Spanish, so I have to go a different day, that's another story, though) and I actually am warming up to some of the animation. I would like to see another preview to see if it shows more of the story.

My husband's granddaughter is autistic and loves MLP. They have special nights for autism so I hopefully can take her to. Her favorite pony is Rainbow Dash.

I'm not quite sure yet. It would be great to see the ponies on the big screen, but there is one big problem for me. Most theaters in Finland will probably be showing a dubbed version, and I hate the Finnish dub of the show. I'm sure the few biggest cities will have the English version, but going there might be too much of a hassle. :(
