They had passed through the barren town square. Some spirits could be felt. "The horror..." One said.

"I can feel that they are in pain," Janeri said somberly.

 

He walked into the ruined castle. Bits of the structure were scattered everywhere along with books that had varying degrees of damage.

 

"The castle is large, but I doubt this will be as difficult as Sweet Apple Acres," said Janeri. He began to set about searching for Twilight's ashes.

Echos of Twilight's cries could be heard. Her spirit was around. Suddenly a warmth surrounded them. "H-help..." Twilight's spirit said crying. "Don't fear Twilight, I am here." Celestia stated. "C-Celestia..." Twilight stated, now yearning to reform so she could hug the Princess.

Janeri went back to Celestia and gave her all the ashes he had found in the entry hall. "I am sure there are more," he said, "I will search the main hall next."

 

Janeri made his way to the center of the castle, and came to the chamber with the map and six thrones, where he promptly began to search.

Twilight's spirit stirred when it saw the ashes. It then reformed into Twilight Sparkle. Twilight looked around, and just retorted to crying. Fortunately, Celestia was there to comfort her. "I have a feeling that the rest of Twilight's friends are here..." Scootaloo stated. "You may be right..." Celestia said. Twilight couldn't say anything because she was overcome with sorrow because of the ruins of her castle.
