Kind of surprised since I heard Steven Universe and Gravity Falls were nominated for Favorite Cartoon and Spongebob still beat them out. Knowing how popular both those shows are on the internet, you'd think the internet would arrive in droses to vote for those shows.

Spongebob has won pretty much every year except for one year when Avatar: The Last Airbender won. If MLP was nominated, it would get more votes, since bronies would vote constantly. I've also noticed that Just Dance seems to win the video game award each year.

Anywho, this award show is garbage, and always has been garbage. Star Wars wining is actually pretty cool but everything else? Just Dance? Seriously? Spongebob? Don't get me wrong, I friggin love Spongebob, but the show is shit compared to what it was so many years ago. Other cartoons deserve this recognition nowadays.

Note: According to the nominees, this movie beat out both Inside Out and The Peanuts Movie. I've never seen it but the first one is decent and probably one of Adam Sandler's better roles.. Don't know how good the squeal is.

I read these books when I was younger. They ironically don't have much reading value seeing as they're novelized comic books, so it makes sense why kids would vote for it. They're pretty easy to pick up and cartoony. Though the family setup in those books reminds me a lot of Malcolm in the Middle.

Also, it's probably important to remember that this is a kids award show, so our opinions are rather biased and probably way off base for this sort of thing. I'm not sure about the whole "corporate shilling thing", but most likely these entries won because that's what kids prefer. Is that a bad thing? I guess that's up to you.

I'd make it that if someone something won a certain award for a certain amount of years, that person or thing wouldn't be nominated for that specific category for x amount of years.
