What if Princess Celestia's parents were star horses and lived like stars themselves? This is the result.

That would be really interesting.

We currently know nothing about Celestia and Luna's family or much about their past.

We just know that they were born alicorns.

But this would give a good explanation to how and why they were born as alicorns, why they have such a long lifespan, and why they are talented with using magic related to celestial objects and stars and stuff.

You're right. But Luna and Celestia's family could be born as alicorns and live like stars too.

 

I call these alicorns "star horses".

Considering that Celestia and Luna are more god-like than the other alicorns, I think your theory makes a lot of sense. Maybe my favorite theory I've heard about the topic.

Could be. We know next to nothing about Alicorns, after all.

 

We know regular ponies can ascend.

We know Alicorns can be born as Alicorns.

 

We don't know if the Sister's apparent extra power is due to being a different breed of Alicorn to Cadance and Twilight, or due to being much older.
