I am not asking for an objective poll, you could if you want though. Just want an off the top of your head verdict on...

 

Most popular pony?

Least Popular Pony 

Best Mane 6 Member?

Best Villain? Including Equestria Girls and comics.

Best Princess?

Best Side Pony?

 

If I were to make the list of how I feel now, it would be hard. Rainbow Dash, Sunset Shimmer, Applejack and Chrysalis are my immediate favorites and I doubt that will change. If I were to guess the contrary to my opinion it would be this.

 

Most popular pony is Luna, most popular pony of all time. 

Least popular is Applejack

Best Mane 6 member is Rarity  

Best Villain is Sombra

Best Princess is Luna

It's a tie between Derpy or Octavia for best background pony.

 

Again, these are my picks, this is my guess at a general list.

Most Popular (Might as well :P): Fluttershy (The fan art of her and remixes with her are everywhere)

 

Least: Flash Sentry... In the sense he's disliked (it kind of reminds me of Donald Trump's popularity when I think about it :o)

Most Popular pony: Well I assume you are asking about the fandom as a whole or whatever so it's Twilight Sparkle, she's not even close to MY Favorite but speaking as to the fandom as a whole, it's not really up for debate, she's ahead of the others by almost every measure you could use to measure popularity on most fandom places. But seriously Look at Art? Twilight dominates. Fic? Twilight dominates to an utterly ABSURD extent. Fan Polls Twilight wins Id say at least 80% of them. 

 

Least Popular (Mane 6): Applejack, same deal as Twilight but in the opposite direction basically. Bottom of almost every poll, less fanworks than anyone etc etc. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if more people listed Sunset Shimmer as their favorite overall character than Applejack. (Note that by least popular I mean "least amount of people who have her as their favorite" If it were "Character that gets the most hate" it'd be Rainbow Dash or Rarity easily, their really the only two who seem to have a sizable number of people who legit dislike them rather than just feel "meh" on them)

 

 

Just as an added note Those 2 factors have remained pretty much consistent since Season 2 or so, but the other 4s popularity has definitely ebbed and flowed many many times.

Best Mane 6 Member: For me, Rarity, easily. Applejack is my second favorite there.

 

Best Villain: Starlight Glimmer or Discord

 

Best Princess: Just to be contrary to doubtless 90% of the post you will get I will say Cadance just because I can.

 

 

Best Side Pony: Depends do you mean side character or backgrounder? Cause if it's a side character than I guess Limestone Pie maybe? I also am pretty fond of Maud and I really liked Sunburst in the last episode and his last few appearances have moved Shining Armor up there too. If Background? Then Octavia I guess.

It's so obviously Twilight that it's hard to see how someone gets another impression.

 

 

Especially Pinkie, Im actually pretty shocked to see 3 people answer Pinkie as their best M6 in this thread, usually to me it feels like she has virtually no hardcore fanbase anymore. I pretty much never see people rave about Pinkie the way I see regularly about say Rarity, Rainbow Dash or Fluttershy.

This thread makes me wonder what the sales ratios are for toysales between the various characters...

 

Just look at who gets the most MERCH made of them, it's Pinkie and Dash, then Twilight, Then Fluttershy and Rarity then Applejack. But that doesn't necessarily reflect the fandom or indeed even the target audience's opinion of "favorite character" or whatever. Rainbow and Pinkie simply have the most marketable designs. 

 

Also what the hell is with all the people saying Rainbow is the most popular pony in the fandom in this thread? Do you guys live in 2011 or something? Rainbow hasn't been the most popular pony since like Season 1 or so. As I said before by practically every measurable statistic Twilight is the most popular character in the fandom, and has been since Season 2. I Don't particularly like that fact she's pretty low on my personal list but it's a fact and it's just flat out wrong to state otherwise.

Most popular pony: For whatever reason, it seems to be Princess Luna. Think Twilight has more fan works, though. 

Least popular pony: Applejack, probably. Kind of a shame. 

Best Mane 6 Member: Based on base characterization? Twilight Sparkle, by far. Based on recent appearances? Definitely Rarity.
