"Well, I don't know a lot about phasmology (pretty sure that's the study of souls) but for a meister to be able to successfully use a weapon, their soul wavelengths have to be able to work together. You probably wouldn't even be able to hold me if our souls weren't in sync. I hear there's this one thing you can do called soul resonance. It's where you send your soul wavelength to me, I amplify it, and we repeat that over and over. It's supposed to let you pull of a lot of powerful moves."

Wolf was trying hard to get the other student's attention, but she was failing...miserably. Just then, she caught a glimpse of a middle-aged, tall, dark-skinned woma with bandages covering most of her body. Wolf stepped back, unsure if this person was a student or an instructor.

 

Nygus:

"I see some of the new students have already arrived. Settle down for a moment, guys. I have to get informatiom on all of the new students here at the acdemy" Nygus explained as she lifted up her clip board. "Why don' you go first?" she asked as she pointed to @@crispy fries

Vazquez transformed back into his human form at Nygus' request.

 

"My name is Vazquez I'm 16, and I'm a weapon. A machete, as you just saw. I've already partnered up with Mackenzie here," he said, pointing to her. "Alright, how soon do we get to hunt down some kishin eggs?"

"You've already partnered up? Wow. That was fast. Alright, thank you for the information. I suppose i'll get some information from Mackenzie, then. As for the kishins... Well, we'll see what Lord Death says". Nygus replied with a closed-eye smile.

Nygus:

Nygus pointed her pen at Mackenzie, indicating that it was her turn. "Tell me your name, age, and when you realized that you were fit to be a meister" she explained.

"Oh, uh" Mackenzie jumbled her words at the sudden prompt. "My name is Mackenzie. I'm 16 years old... Another uh, meister in the school introduced me to the DWMA after she saw me kill, uh, a 'Kishin egg?' I think she called it that..."

 

Mackenzie felt her heart swell up a little at her accomplishment, but tried not to show it. "I just partnered with Vazquez here. He's my weapon.". realising what she just said, she frantically turned to him and put her hands up pensively "I mean, you don't have to be my weapon if you don't want to. Im sure there are plenty of better meisters out there...", her voice trailing off as her newfound confidence wavered.

Nygus let out a small laugh at the timid girl in front of her. "You've already hunted down and kills a kishin egg? That's pretty impressive. Well, I hope that you and your weapon here learn and grow together as a team". Nygus softly placed her rough, bandaged hand on Mackenzie's shoulder. "It's alright to be proud of your accomplishments..." she whispered.

Now looking at Zara, she nodded- gesturing him to give his information next.

"Very good" said Nygus as she completed writing down Zara's information. Her eyes skimmed the clipboard in front of her and clicked her pen once more. "Okay. And who are you?" she asked curiously- looking at @ Again, she clicked her pen and spun it with her fingers.

"Vincent Light, My dear"  The young man with a long overcoat smiled towards Nygus, It was a fake smile much like all his others. "I'm 19,  and a Meister" He continued, crunching the last bits of candy with his teeth.  "Now... as for your final inquiry, I guess it would be... when I laid my eyes on you...Cutey~" He winked flirtatiously, masking the painful truth with a crude joke.

Nygus chuckled at Vincent's take on flirting with her. She knew that there would be a variety of students this year, so one was bound to be slick. "Is that so?" she asked sarcastically as she wrote down his response.

The short girl in the ostentatious frilly pink dress pushed off from the wall she leaned on and locked eyes with the teacher with a confident smirk. 

"Well Cleopatra, I'm a weapon by the name of Evangeline Romanoff." She raised her gloved arm and made it glow, letting it seem to vanish for a moment as that segment of her body became extremely micro thin and long wire that whipped about in the air, drawing up dozens of loose sheets of paper into the ensuing wind before slicing them to pieces before those tiny bits drifted off into the trash bin like confetti. Her arm reformed in flash of light before bringing a hand to her chin. 

 

"My weapon form is Microfilimant wire. I was told resonating with a meister could amplify my abilities. I'm interested to see if that's the case."

"Well, I can see that someone is eager" replied Nygus with a slightly annoyed tone. Beong a teacher meant that she had to keep her cool, however, so she brushed off the 'Cleopatra' remark. "That weapon form is quite unique. Your future meister will need practice weilding it- as you will need practice learning to connect with others".

Nygus finally turned to Wolf who was standing in the middle of the hall. "And you?" 

 

Wolf:

"My name is Wolf and I am 18 years old. I am a meister and I realized I could see souls when I practiced it one day. Nothing special, ya know?" 

 

Nygus wrote down the information and proceeded to walk away.

 

Nygus:

"Thank you for your time. As for now, all of you should head to Lord Death's office together. You better hurry".

Vazquez patted Vincent on the back and said, "Buddy, you must really have a pair if you're gonna hit on a teacher."

 

"C'mon Mackenzie Death himself is waiting," Vazquez said as he walked back towards the academy. "And don't worry, I'm not gonna find another meister."

Vince nodded along to the instructor but his mind had been wandering a bit, "too... tired... Wanna watch some anime or cartoons... Maybe surf the Internet"  He thought quietly, blanking out and being oblivious to his surroundings.
 

 

Nygus: "Thank you for your time. As for now, all of you should head to Lord Death's office together. You better hurry".

"Sounds great" He answered, He wasn't entirely sure what the teacher had said, as he had been blanking out as usual, but was certain it had something to do with an office.

Vazquez patted Vincent on the back and said, "Buddy, you must really have a pair if you're gonna hit on a teacher."

 

 

"Well, Thank you!" Vincent nodded, He wasn't a man who was used to praise, so it made him smile a little. "Vasquez sounds likes Baskets!" He uttered. "Oh! Sorry! It's a mnemonic device, I'm quite horrible at memorizing things so I have to make do with using these devices to memorize people's name" He explained. "It's a pleasure to meet you Skuez Meister~"

"Hoo" he sighed, placing his hand on Zara/Zach's shoulder. "Hey... Uhmm... Thanks for wanting to have me as your meister"  He smiled awkwardly , not as brightly as before but much more genuine. "It really brightened my day" He added looking away from her, He wasn't all that great at being honest with people, but felt he/she deserved it.

 

"Alright then...enough of the mushy stuff , Shall we get going?" Vincent implied, gesturing towards the academy.

Mackenzie looked down at her shoes and twiddled her fingers. "Thanks, I guess... Let's go meet the grim reaper.". She followed quietly behind Vazquez.

 

She was still rather frightened by Evangeline's sudden display. Is this the kind of power expected of a brand new Meister at the academy?

"Think nothing of it. I don't normally talk to people unless they talk to me first and You were the first Meister to talk to me. Anyway let's see what lord death wants with a bunch of freshmen." Zara took about three steps before a pounding headache hit her. "Owww my head" as suddenly as the headache came it vanished. ["Hello!" Zach looked at Vincent "hi have we been partnered"]

Evangeline wasn't sure if she liked this group all that much. They didn't pay her the proper respect she deserved. Sure Mackenzie at least acknowledged her power in her body language towards her, but the rest did their best to ignore the fact she existed. It rightly pissed her off. She was a daughter of the Romanoff family for pete's sake; One of the largest mafia's in the world. Sure she didn't particularly like what they did there and she had her doubts on whether she was proud of such roots, but it was a distinguished line none the less. 

 

The girl was used to people cowing to her whim, especially after she found out she was a weapon. Her face grew dark under her beret and blond bangs that fell over her face as she walked behind them swiftly. She kept her hands behind her back and contemplated her situation . She would have to see what this "Lord Death" was really like. If she didn't find much reason or a suitable to continue being in this school beyond that...

 

...maybe the opposition was looking for openings...

"Hey, Evangeline, how come you're so gloomy?" Vazquez asked. "It's a nice day out, and the academy life is brimming with possibilities. Could it be because the little Romanoff girl can't partake in her family's corruption?"

 

Vazquez said the last part a bit quieter so only himself and Evangeline could hear. Vazquez was quite familiar with a lot of crime organizations, which was a product of him growing up in the middle of the drug war. He had also fought against these organizations before joining the DWMA.

Her finger vanished as a razor thin line floated out through the air and snaked it around the two of them as they continued to walk. She knew he was probably going to notice after a moment do to the way it glinted in the light --  and she had already shown what she could do with her weapon form earlier. 

 

"Keep goading me hatchet boy ...." She growled low enough for him to hear. "...talking like you know me. You don't know jack sh*t about me." 

 

She started to smirk "... Still... didn't expect to meet many here outside of faculty that actually know where I come from..."  she let out a small chuckle behind her unused hand at that. "Oh yes... they know EXACTLY who my family is and they STILL wanted me to come... isn't that fun?"

Wolf let out a sigh and smiled sweetly at everyone. She was thrilled to meet the one and only Lord Death! She mentally noted everyone's earlier information that was given to Nygus so she could try her best to make friends with them. "Okay, guys... Let's go and meet Death himself!"

She retracted her weapon form and lightened up upon hearing Wolf. This one was the one she tolerated the most out of all of them. She even complimented her when they first met. That was worth something.

 

"Well you are awfully excited." Evangeline said as she backed up to meet with her prospect miester. She held out a gloved hand to the girl, "Call me Eva, nice to meet you Wolf."

Vazquez chuckled to himself as he continued along to meet Lord Death. It was easy to antagonize Evangeline, and the pleasure Vazquez took in doing it went beyond just getting a kick out of messing with someone. He had a burning hatred for people like the Romanoffs deep inside of him. Vazquez's best friend had died in the drug wars, and from that point on he absolutely loathed any sort of evil, and organizations like the Romanoff family were evil to him.

Evangeline smiled warmly at her and secretly sized the taller girl up. She was friendly, which had its own pros and cons to it. Sure she'd be easy enough to get along with, but she wasn't quite sure how effective she would be in combat. Wolf seemed more like a puppy than her name sake would imply. If this was the case well...

 

...all puppies could be trained with the right motivation...

 

 "I'd like that a lot, we should certainly talk to Lord Death about that." 

 

She wondered how this Death was going to act. They knew who she was and had accepted her into the school anyway, which was surprising given the DWMA had been a thorn in the side of many gangs and mafia families over the years. Of course none of those family's ever had a weapon born into their upper echelons that were like her. The Romanoffs weren't particularly pleased with the arrangement, but Eva had pitched it like she was going to spy for them.

 

In truth she didn't really know what side she wanted to be on. 

 

@@crispy fries, Then there was Vasquez. He was annoying before she had said her last name,  but after she had said it he went straight into hostile territory. She knew a beef when she saw one, and she knew she'd have to deal with it one way or another. The proverbial puppy at her side might not be up to such a fight though. That would take some persuasion. If this were just an alley way and not an important hallway on the way to meeting lord death she'd probably try to take him out here and now, but with the situation as it was she'd have to wait.

It was obvious to Vazquez that there was mutual animosity between himself and Evangeline, and that animosity could escalate. It would be unwise to make a serious enemy of the Romanoffs, although he was under the protection of the DWMA now. Maybe he should challenge her to a duel. Vazquez didn't want to drag Mackenzie into what was his fight though, so it seemed best to challenge her one on one.
