We Are Bronies (Metal Core Pony Vocal Cover)

Hey everyone! I'm really new to forums so I'm not sure if covers can go here. Any help would be appreciated!

I decided to go a vocal cover of Metal Core Pony's We Are Bronies. He was one of the few artists who truly inspired me to contribute music to fandom as well as become a fan of metalcore music. This vocal cover is pretty much a tribute. Enjoy! :) https://youtu.be/NtrBMinJjys

Ok...

Whoa...careful with your screams dude...they seem not have enough power and could fade early. Really, when it comes to screamo, it's all about getting enough air into your lungs. Once you do that, be sure to not constrict your airway too much or else you wouldn't be able to maintain the scream.

In terms of your singing, it sounds a little nasal. It is true that in rock and metal you hit high notes, but again, it's all about breathing. Also, why not add some vibrato to give your notes some color. This way, the notes won't sound so stale. You're hitting the notes, but they come out flat (not in tuning, but rather in the emotion and tone).

All in all, good effort with the cover. You just gotta work on coloration of your notes and breathing in terms of your screams.

Thanks for the feedback. I've been screaming only for 3 or 4 years so it's definitely not gonna perfect. But I can assure you that there is power behind my screams but I guess the way I mixed this kinda made it sound like there wasn't. As for my singing, well, that's just my voice really. I'm really not doing anything to make it sound nasal. If I actually make it sound nasal it would just sound awful. It just sounds like that but I'm sure with more practice I could improve it.

@@MetalPony,

Ok. What I'm getting from what you said was, sounds like you put a little too much high-end when you mixed the track. Screamo screams have depth and that's what it lacked. Make sure you mix your screams so they could have enough depth to sound as powerful as if you were doing it live in concert.
