Redwood couldn't help but feel her heart soften when Hooligan said that.

 

"Ah get that yer real concerned about this," she assured. "But bein' stupid and not thinkin' before we act is a real good way fer things to go bad. Y'all can rest assured that yer gonna know as soon as ah do."

The doctor could tell that they were lying, but he shrugged and said,
"Okay. Hooligan, you do know that Redwood just needs to rest, and doesn't need you watching over her.

Nightmare finally got to the bottom and bumped into the statue, then something smacked her in the face, She lit her horn about to fire, then she saw what hit her in the face, it was Missklang's arm. She turned around and split the spear in half, then stopped the spear and Missklang from falling and lowered him to the ground, and said as she checked the pulse and the breathing.

"Why did I drop him. Please don't be dead."

"Okay i trust you know what you're doing," said Hooligan with a warm smile, "I better let you rest like the Doc say. I'll see you tomorow beautiful."

Hooligan turned to Doc and walked over to him. "Okay Doc, Redwood told me what she needed to and I'm ready to go back to my cell."

"Alright, get outta here," said Redwood with a slight smile.

 

On the inside, she was fairly anxious to know the results of the test as well. Hooligan had been so caring and nice, and she wanted to know if only to be able to tell him. The evening couldn't come soon enough.

Missklang opened his left eye and stared at Nightmare.

 

Your wish is my command. I can't disobey a direct order, can I?

 

He opened the other eye too and smiled.

 

I survived worse. Such insignificant toothpick can't by my doom. It would be ridiculous.

 

He reached his hoof and booped Nightmare. In the same time, he levitated the spear away. 

 

I do appreciate the fact you care so much about my well-being, though. Don't kill me to hard, ok? 

 

He looked at the hole in his chest.

 

Well, look at this! I am see-through now. Isn't that cool? Nah, don't give me that look. I'll fix it right away.

 

He passed his hoof on top of the wound and it disappeared.

Nightmare stood up and said, 

"Glad I don't have to feel out papers for your death, and lose a friend as well. Can you not scare me that bad "

She smiled and lit her horn to see Missklang, and held a hoof out to help him up.

"You do know that you can head there by yourself."

Hooligan shrugged and began walking back to his cell. As he did he gave a few deep breaths. Redwood was right he just needed to calm down a bit. He looked up and saw the new made walking around. He walked over to her, "Hey Mercury," he said happily, "how are you?"

What fun is there, without a bit of excitement?

 

He let Nightmare help him to get up. His eyes were lurking in the darkness around. As the place was extremely dusty, the particles of dust in the air didn't let the light spell lit the area good enough.

 

Well, this is a nice place, isn't it? Romantic and stuff. I always wondered, why nopony ever restore lower layers of the castles but just build around and above? Like even Canterlot has its catacombs where Cadence was trapped by Chrysalis...

Nightmare started walking and said as she outlined old cells,

"From what Shadow told me, this place was home to...a dangerous prisoner, He broke out of his cell and went on a rampage everyone in a while, he, I mean it made a riot look like kid stuff. They talked about it like it was a ghost story. Then one day, he grew mad with rage and attacked everyone here, except a mare that locked herself in a cell out of fear what the prisoner might do."

"Hey, Doc, am ah at least good enough to walk?" asked Redwood.

 

If she could walk, then maybe she could take the test a little sooner than she had anticipated. Truth be told, she was beginning to get just as anxious as Hooligan about it, and she didn't want to wait.

Missklang's eyes glowed a bit less.

 

Yes, indeed. That does sounds quite horrible. That must mean that the skeleton I scavenged was that exact mare... I guess she didn't make it after all. Perhaps her ghost is still here. It would make it easier to summon to the skeleton.

 

He looked in the cells, but they were empty, with occasional bits of bones. 

 

So, got a name for the killer prisoner? Heh. Imagine if it was Shadow or something like that. That would be such a magnificent scary story. And logically plausible too. Perhaps there is interesting evidence here...

"Just wait for an hour or two, moving your front legs will make it hurt."

Nightmare flinched and said shakily,

"Y-yeah, that would make a great story." 

They came near a cell with the bar bent outwards. Nightmare walked into the cell and looked around.

Yup...

 

He looked in an old drawer and pulled a rustic vintage dress. Without waiting, he squeezed himself into it. It was brown and white and looked very steampunky. Right there, were some welding goggles as well. His glowy eyes through the tinted glasses looked quite eerie. Like if there were two lamps instead of his eyes. He went to Nightmare to showcase the beautiful dress.

Niightmare smiled and said,

"yes, you do. Now get out of that before you ruin it,"

She looked around and saw that the mattress was placed in the ground and that there was no furniture, and  a lightbulb in the middle of the cell. Nightmare walked over to the outside the cell and flipped the switch

The doctor stood up, sighed, and said, 
"I said just wait an hour or two before walking, that doesn't mean you have to stay in bed. You could try to walk on your hind legs, like Shadow."

He levitated a bottle out of the cupboard and said 
"I have pills, but it might make you want more of it."

"Thanks, Doc," said Redwood before she popped two of the pills in her mouth.

 

After resting up for just a few more minutes, she was able to pick herself up. The spot where she had been stabbed ached, but she could tough it out. She then left the infirmary and headed to her quarters to take the pregnancy test.

Redwood saw Hooligan talking to the new prisoner, and she pulled him away without a word.

 

When they were far enough away from everybody, she said, "Alright, ah convinced Doc to give me a couple painkillers so ah could be up and walkin' again, and ah'll admit that ah got anxious to know too, so ah took th' test."

Hooligan was a bit surprised. Redwood said she wasn't gonna do the test until tonight, but he guessed that she was just as anguish as he was. "Well what did the test say?" Hooligan asked nervously. Hooligan waited for Redwoods response. He was quite the bit nervous to say the least.

Redwood let out a deep breath before showing Hooligan a positive pregnancy test. "Yer gonna be a dad," said Redwood, managing a weak smile.

 

This seemed like really the only way to drop the news. She had promised to let him know as soon as she did, so that's exactly what she was doing.

Hooligan was speechless. He leaned on the wall and slid down to the floor. "Wow, I....I don't know what to say," said Hooligan quietly. He was experiencing a weird feeling that was a mix of joy and utter fear. "I'm gonna be a dad," he said smiling slightly. He looked up at Red, "and you're gonna be a mom."

Shadow's theatrics were a bit too much for Kurren$y to trust as harmless. He lowered his center of gravity and coiled up like a compressed spring, but didn't do anything. Kurren$y wanted to be completely reactionary.

 

"Had it before yo boys bagged me. S*** probably no evidence left, guarantee she ran cleanup. Least I would've done that. Can't have a case when it's he-said-she-said."

Shadow as the shadow sunk down, 

"Let's see, I warned you not to start anything, you attacked a guard, and you accused without proof, I don't think Solitary will cut."

A tentacle of shadow went up the once broken leg, found the crack, and dug into it. 

"When I talked to the doctor, I asked him to leave a spot that wouldn't affect your walking, but still hurt when someone put pressure on it, just in case."
