Why did Twilight leave Sunset in the human world to begin with?

At the time of the first movie, Twilight was an alicorn, meaning that she had discovered the magic of friendship. Why didn't she tae Sunset back to Equestria, offering HER OWN friendship, instead of leaving her in another world with people who dislike her after all she had done, competely stripped of her magic? Sunbutt said, within earshot that she had hoped Sunset come back to Equestria, seeking her guidance. So why didn't Twilight remember that, and bring Sunny back to her old mentor, at least, at the end of the movie?

 

But when Starlight Glimmer goes and disrupts timelines, Twilight's quick to take her under her wing and befriend her. Discrepancy, much?

Maybe she didn't want to go back to the country which she tried to invade and a extremely powerful being that she had betrayed.

This has been boggling my mind for a while now but I personally think Sunset doesn't want to return to Equestria

Maybe she's gone native in the human world and has no desire to return to Equestria, or maybe she's worried that even though Twilight forgave her, Celestia may not be so accommodating.

Maybe Sunset wasn't fully ready to go back to a place she tried to take over, after being hit by a gigantic rainbow laser of friendship, and having to rebuild the entire front of a school.

Plus it's not like Twilight had a lot of time to go back to Equestria anyways.

I doubt she even trusted Shimmer enough to take her back at that point in time.

that may have been, but she could've at least mentioned ghat Sunbutt wanted her to come back, once Sunset had realized her mistake and asked for forgiveness at the end of the first movie

 

Could've been as easy as saying "i think i know somepony who wants to help you again"

 

No doubt Sunbutt eould've allowed SS to go back and forth through the mirror, to have her try and befriend the humane5 at a later date, since she had introduced the morror to her some time before SS decided to first go into it, after all

Probably just so she could learn how to make friends with everybody (not everypony, since it's human world). But odds are, she might return to Equestria in Legend of Everfree.
