Inquiry: What's wrong with furries?

 

Nothing. What I meant is that we'll be seen the same way furries are seen. That we just want to look at Rule 34 pictures of cartoon ponies. Just like how most people see furries as weird people who dress up as animals and look at Rule 34 pictures of animals.

Why is r34 always brought into this. Everything has r34(THATS THE RULE) and every fandom has its "cloppers." People who hate us for it are idiots and people witgin the fandom who hate cloppers are hardly part of the fandom at all. I don't mind cloppers, as long as they keep their stuff outta mine. I just hope the fandom goes on for a long while, This is litteraly how I spend my free time now on this site and reading fanfics(and yes some of them are the "naughty" ones, simply because I find them very funny... No other reason..

Rule 34 afflicts every franchise in existence. I don't see why it should cause issues. Ponies who like it will like it. Everypony else, it doesn't interfere with you in any way, so buzz off. That's my opinion on that.

 

I think we've got a lot of power still going. Even after the show ends, I believe the fanbase will last without dieing down to a bare minimum for a while. This particular fanbase has brought together artists of all kinds to paint a picture of a truly dedicated fanbase, and some retarded Rule 34 isn't going to kill it off that easily. Other fanbases are still alive and running decent enough, and have been dealing with the same thing forever. But this fanbase has so many talented ponies in it, that hell, if ponies got together and were dedicated enough, they could practically make their own episodes if they wanted to. I've already seen endless fan-made flash that is on par with the show's animation, with brilliantly selected voice actors, after all.

Who can say where it's going, but people need to realize things haven't changed and probably won't. The same arguments that haters/fans have been using since October 2010 are the same ones they use now. It's like beating your head against a brick wall, either way.

 

As for quality, people always like what they saw first best. If season 1 had season 2's episodes and vice versa, people would talk about how "season 1" was way better simply because they saw it first. Personally, I think they both had their ups and downs.

Bronies this fandom is huge and honestly and i know im gonna get some negative response on this but those people on t.v who talk about how "bronies are gay" and how "Its for little girls" are actually fueling the fandom and making more people ask "yo dawg whats a brony?" witch in turn invites in more bronies also the shere fact that even though this is a huge fandom its not as big as say the

"choclate rain" or "worlds greatest freakout" hype was and i think the smaller the hyped the less quickly it will die out just IMO but

To be honest, I'm sort of tired of closet bronies worrying- you can be the first of many bronies around you. Get out of that closet, you love ponies and there's nothing wrong and everything right about it. If you're worried about being the only brony in your community, by gum, make some more bronies to join you!

 

I have an idea. We can't shove ponies down everyone's throats or they'll just hate us. What we need to do is make people extremely curious about ponies. Drop references, but don't overdo it. Buy things to wear (like a rainbow man-scarf or a pair of jeans with your favorite pony's cutie mark sown on the knee), but don't overdo it. Make ponies your background on your phone or laptop, so when people glance over your shoulder, they'll notice, but don't overdo it. See a theme? Exactly.

As for where the fandom goes and fear of dying out, sure it fluctuates. It's going to do so for however long the fandom is a staple of news stories and such. Once the public latches onto some other group, things will die down and people will become a lot less judgmental. The important thing, as has been stated in this thread in one form or another, is that we do our best to stay united as a fandom, and buck all those haters

The thing is, we can't be seen as another version of Beliebers or One Directioners, because we aren't. It's all about maturity, and doing other things than ponies while still showing off our love for them. We need to erase any bad stereotypes about us and restart. If we're seen as a bunch of random internet kids drowning in pony toys and little girl shows, no one is going to like bronies at all- we can make this work, we can do serious good for the world.

Not going to lie, he does have a pretty good point. Sure, we have a potential to do things, but think about fandoms in the past that have had greater numbers and had a potential to do things and simply eventually died (mostly) away. Some of them still exist in small numbers, but it's a fandom, it's not really going to do much outside of that. There will be good and there will be bad and there will be people observing on the outside, where usually the bad catches their eye the most.

 

However, I do still think the fandom has a lot of growing to do, seeing as we are only going to be starting season 3 soon; who knows how many more there could be after that and how it would affect the numbers of us. Only time can tell.

To be honest, this fandom is so big that we made it on TV several times. I really don't want it to be bigger, the bigger the more the chance it will be viewed negatively. Look at the furry fandom, there are around 1 MILLION furs and it's viewed as sick perverts who do nothing but fap to furry porn while fucking their dog.
