The leaked e-mails indicated an alicorn named cosmos as the villain; Since the E-mails were WAY WAY long ago, I'm pretty sure things have most likely changed drastically since then, but I still think there will be an evil alicorn and a focus on alicorn lore for the movie

Okay, let's see here. It's supposedly an alicorn. An alicorn is a combination of a unicorn, a pegasus, and an earth pony. Those are three things. There are three sides to a triangle. Illuminati confirmed.

 

 

 

Really though, it would make sense for there to be an alicorn villian. We haven't had one since Nightmare Moon (Chrysalis isn't a pony so she doesn't count). It could be like the Mane Six are exploring Equestria or whatnot and strange things keep happening wherever they go and finally they have some big battle or chase or something.

I don't really know why, but I would love to see Starswirl the Bearded be the main villain of the movie.

After how much he was mentioned in the show, it feels like finally giving him an appearance in the flesh would seem like a really big deal.

Where else should he be added besides the movie.

He was stated to not understand friendship or at least to the extent that Twilight did, and maybe his spell was intended to make himself an alicorn.

I think it'd be a nice change of pace if the main problem of the movie wasn't rooted in some villain's dastardly plan. That there's just some big problem being presented to Equestria, and it's up to everyone to solve it. Perhaps harking back to elements such as the Nothing, of The Neverending Story. Not a carbon copy of the plot, obviously; but just some sort of faceless threat that isn't your standard villain role. Though no FernGully style environmental issue; they're done to death.

 

Unfortunately, it seems like there's talk of an alicorn villain called 'Cosmos'. I don't know how accurate that will be to the movie, but I really just hope it's not a case of Nightmare Moon 2.0.

The leaks indicated they've planned to make an alicorn stallion as the villain named Cosmos. I think they'll keep those main ideas, like the name or being an alicorn, but I'm sure they won;t make him Celly and Luna's brother like the leaks showed

I am totally down for this Cosmos character as the villain because we can finally see a male alicorn. And who knows, he could maybe mind control Celestia to be apart of his evil screw, that would also be a really interesting twist.

So, say hello to Evil Trixie with an Alicorn Amulet, but not the controlling trixie, the new and improved ALICORN Trixie with wings who is out for destruction. Say hello to Crystalis well as Tirek, a re-evil-formed Discord and a resurrected King Sombra in full power under his mind control powers. And as a kicker, Nightmare Moon is also back and twice as powerful and more malicious as before as the leader of this pack of resurrected bad guys. 

The Mane six without the elements of harmony must defeat these foes and regain their friends back before heading to the final showdown with this final villain before he takes control of the entire world.

According to The Journal of the Two Sisters, Princess Luna learned a spell from Star Swirl that would let her move the stars. From this we can surmise that Nightmare Moon used the power of the stars to break the spell, but had to wait one thousand years for some reason, probably when the spell was weak enough.

Steven Magnet's father, that'd be hilarious then a silly StarWars reference could be made too. Because they are going to have Sea Ponies. But I guess a villain Kraken or Deep Sea creature or something could be done. Sombra and Glimmer had tyranny in common so maybe that'd occur there too but who knows. Maybe it'll be a somewhat relatable villain who eventually gets converted to the side of friendship like Bacon hair or 'dies' like Sombra.

I think an intelligent villain would be better than like just a villain who likes abusing power that they always had or something, so a villain that's actually a merpony maybe. But they said theres going to be pirates so maybe it'll be a rescue the damsel in distress sorta thing. No idea.
