What terrifies you?

This isn't just things that mildly scare you like death. If you're gonna think of that then don't bother, no, this is about the REAL stuff. the stuff that keeps you up at night

Tell me what would utterly terrify you down to your very soul

For me: Open water, especially at night

I've replicated several situations in my dreams where I'm eaten by a sea monster. We haven't explored most of the oceans and so to my brain it stands to reason that with my luck, I'd be the proof that some giant predator exists under there. I know it's not that likely but it doesn't matter. I don't want to find out.

Just some of the things that I don't want to have the pleasure of greeting.

And this, this is the king of NOPE.JPG

Any of these things will make me quit life immediately :D

The dreams are already terrifying. Getting eaten isn't fun no matter what weird fetish you have when its a giant toothed predator underwater 100x larger than you.

For me, it's large aquatic creatures. For example, groupers or whale sharks. Just the thought of such things puts me on edge. Also, being chased.

Spiders. Freaking spiders. I learned that in Brazil, it can rain spiders....

Raining spiders. Down from the sky. A clear blue sky. And it's raining spiders.

Let that sink in...

INSECTS. I have never been comfortable with being near or touching any creepy crawlies. Eugh.

HEIGHTS. Falling down from a building, bridge etc. is one of my greatest fears.

GHOSTS. I know for sure that ghosts aren't real, but that doesn't mean that non-existent creatures can't be creepy. I've seen too many scary vids on YouTube about ghost sightings, as well as screamers. At the end, I just remember that they are still not real.

GOING UPSTAIRS FROM A DARK ROOM. Sometimes, I just feel like something or someone is following me upstairs at night. So I run up quickly.

STRANGE NOISES AT NIGHT. At first, it's all quiet, and I can finally be at peace with nobody, but my introverted self. Suddenly, I hear a creak upstairs, but no one is there. I look out the window and see a dark shadowy figure. I have no idea what it really is.

The thing that scares me most is the apparent exodus of my tenacity.

I used to have the most amazing focus, and now I get distracted when trying to complete important tasks.

The end of my existence. Not just death, but that nothing will be left of me, no ideas, stories or anything significant of any kind. Im terrified of being completely gone forever.

Disease and toxins, too. Permanently weakened by a crippling poison or a disease is something that scares me, as i always valued my faculties as a human being.

Spiders, definitely. At one point, it was certain images from "Mistakes are Forever." Deformed ponies, really. Especially that weird Rarity without her eyelids or lashes. I guess it was just one of those things.

Being betrayed by others. As this has happened to me several times in the past and solemnly even now, I'm have been afraid of entrusting all of my trust and secrets to any person that I have become close with. Hence why I tend to keep to myself and only have a small number of close friends in real life.

Insects with a large sum of legs. Simple, really. Some insects would include centipedes and milipedes. Thankfully there are not many crawling around where I live, but just the image of those creatures give me goosebumps.

This, all the way.

To add to mine:

  • Losing everyone close to me
  • Dying
  • Extreme heights
  • Long, dark hallways
  • Dim, dingy public restrooms
  • Man/insect hybrids, such as the Man-Centipedes from Demon's Souls
  • Thunderstorms
  • The dark
  • Going mute/blind/deaf
  • Rejection

There's so much more I could list, but I think I've gone on long enough...

The idea of being hated. To put it ironically, I hate being hated. It's not a nice feeling to know someone despises you, or something that you do.

Being alone: This entire idea is something I really have a fear for. I have a boatload of problems with being social and because of that, I have always been afraid of being completely alone at some point in my life, but it is a fear I am feeling a lot less now.

Death: This one is pretty simple. I vividly remember when I was 10 years old, I started to realize my mortality after thinking about it for a good while and it terrified me.

Spiders: Gotta say nope to those creatures.

Getting blood drawn: I hate needles in general, but the entire concept of getting blood drawn is horrifying to me. Seriously, thinking about it makes me feel anxiety. *shivers*

Disease: Really bad diseases that is. Around the same time of my morality realization, I also began to be extremely paranoid about diseases, mostly the really bad ones. To give an example of my paranoia with these at times, I don't even want to list any because it will then make me think of them specifically.

Anxiety problems suck.

1. Very high heights. Normally, I am not scared of heights. I will go up in trees, planes, anything really. But if I am on the edge of a cliff/building (Where I know, if I fall, I will die) with out any way to protect myself from falling, it scares the shit out of me.

2. Being alone my house, building, etc. and hearing a strange noise, knock on the door, glass shatter, someone outside the window, etc.

The future terrifies me, and I'm not talking immediate future either but years in the future. Whenever I hear the phrase 'Where do you think you'll be in 2/5/10 years?", I tend to sweat. In five years, maybe I'll win the lottery, maybe I'll get my drivers license or maybe nothing of note will happen. Or I could end up homeless through no fault of my own, get struck by a car or some other horrible thing, how should I know?

Diseases. I'm a combination hypochondriac and germiphobe, so I'm terrified of catching some potentially fatal disease somehow.
