Favorite fourm section.

So, I was looking at the about me page and I notice something. Under the favorite forum section the 'debate pit" is not an option . Is there a reason for this? I mean I would really like to make that my favorite section as I spend most time there. So just a suggestion, you should add it.

Because the Debate Pit is not a forum section, it's a sub-sub-forum (EF->GD->DP). The reason why it's not in the list is (probaby) because the system that lists the options for favorite section is automated and will only list major secitons and not subforums. For example, I can't pick "General Discussion" or "Media Discussion" as my favorite even though they are two of the most popular places on the site because they're both subsections.

 

..But if you put "Everfree Forest" as your favorite, it'll include the debate pit as well, right?

 

I must say though, I do agree that subsections shoud be able to be picked for "Favorite section".

Huh. Yeah, that list *is* a little wonky, isn't it? I hadn't really looked at it recently.

 

From the looks of the list, I would say that all the 'restricted' forums like Life Advice and Debate Pit were left out deliberately way back when that list was last edited. Likely the idea was that it wasn't really fair to refer to sections that many others can't even see let alone participate in. 

 

In general it looks out-of-date, as it doesn't reflect the current Octavia's Hall setup and other similar stuff. We'll have to see if i can find out what happens if we remove/rename an option, and someone has actually chosen it already, before we do a serious re-organization of that list.

Okay, @@FlitterFlutter, I *think* I've updated the favourite forum list. Added in a lot of new forums we've got since the last time the list was updated. I also added Debate Pit, though as @@Jokuc, say's it's not technically a 'section' but a sub-sub-section.

 

I'm still debating about adding any other sub-sections because the list will start looking a little ridiculous. Any suggestions as to which subsections should count as valid choices would be appreciated.

I would possibly consider adding Welcome Plaza since some do expend a considerable effort focusing on it.

 

Also ... I wouldn't be opposed to adding the RFC as an option.
