Any of the Pokémon games, because there's just so many things to do. I'm still playing them after all these years.

Hmmm....I'd have to say I agree with Ocarina of Time, but I think many people feel that way to be honest lol, but I would also have to include Majora's Mask in there as well, for I almost find myself

Worms. Worms all the way.   Doesnt Madder if Worms 1,2,3 or 4, even Worms Pinball is a Game i could play over and over again. Another game series would be the Jak and Daxter Series, the Rayman Ser

With gaming comes games. I am sure you all knew that BUT, some games age better than others. Some games, even despite aging not so well, can be timeless. They are games that we can always go back to,

Hmmm.

Deus Ex,

Alpha Centauri

Starbound {this has been my main timesink lately}

X3: Albion Prelude

openXcom

OpenTTD

Fez

Team Fortress 2

That's all that comes to mind right now....

Old-school, arcade style beat em ups. Namely, Alien vs. Predator, The Punisher, and Streets of Rage.

Any Street Fighter game except SF1, along with Capcom vs. SNK 2. You just can't beat a good fighting game.

Any Hitman game except Absolution. Because I love having the freedom to kill everybody.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Same reason as above. I love playing the good guy like a psychotic asshole.

Super Metroid, my favorite game ever and the best Metroid game. A fantastic game and one of the best gaming experiences.

Metroid Prime, my second favorite game. I can play it just as much and have an awesome time.

Ultimate Doom, one of the best shooter experiences ever.

Honestly, one game I come back to every so often is DOOM 2.  It's not the game I've spent the most time in.  However, it is the the game I have the longest history with, as I find myself coming back and marathoning it every few months.

I know what you're thinking.  "Huh, but isn't that game only 4 hours long?"  Yes, it is, but what keeps it alive for me is it's modding community.  Yes, it has a modding community; it's been around ever since the first DOOM.  Thriving, though niche, the community creates loads of mods for DOOM 2, spanning anything from goofy stuff, hardcore map packs, reworks, story driven mods, and so forth.

Compiling onto this is its simple gameplay.  Fast paced, and challenging under the right circumstances, the core mechanics have always been appealing to me.  Unsurprisingly, DOOM 2 is relatively easy to mod, so others have tinkered with the core mechanics and made new mechanics, or enhanced the existing ones.

It's a blast to play, and it's always exciting to come back to it and see what more the community has made.

As a yong person born in 2001, I now often return to Zuma Deluxe: hqdefault.jpg

and Trackmania Forever: 81863-trackmania-forever.jpg

Those 2 dexterity games are just my favourite and depend only at your reflexes, perception and skills. No upgrades of the frog or car, only skill.

It's most definitely Pokemon games for me. I do have moments when I tire of them, but I always find myself coming back to them over a short time.

  • The Pokémon games
  • The Mario franchise
  • Kirby games

I would say TF2 and Borderlands, but I haven't been able to play either in over a year now.

  • 2 years later...

I'm not sure, probably any game that I currently have to be honest. I mean, I still go back to Star Was Battlefront 2 (the old version), Call of Duty: Ghosts, and all the Halos.

Pretty much this, though I would be inclined to sub Mario with TF2 now that I can play them. Also because I've found myself less and less interested in playing Mario titles.
