My Little Pony and Cardcaptor Sakura?

With CCS getting a full blown revival in June, I gotta ask- if CLAMP and Hasbro joined forces and joined these two franchises in a special promo event, could you see CCS working well with MLP? Would this be something you think fans of either franchise would appreciate, magical girls and ponies?

It would be an interesting idea. BTW, did you know Sakura was voiced by Britt's sister? And Matt pretty much used the exact same voice for Kero as he now uses for Soarin'. (Which Wikipedia describes as a New York accent.)

I absolutely loved Cardcaptor Sakura. I did not care for the American butcher job that was done to it. I'm lucky enough to have seen the entire series, and the movies, with subtitles and no "Americanizing". No, those were not hamburgers! They were overturned soup bowls! No, they were not eating donuts! They were eating rice balls! No, that wasn't 'The Radio Tower'. It was Tokyo Tower! They even skipped a bunch of episodes to try and make Syaoran Li more of a main character.

 

I'm looking forward to seeing the new take on the series. Now to keep this relevant to the thread, here's a delightful bit of whimsy. I couldn't find the original Japanese version, Youtube pulled it down. Luckily someone posted it with the Latino version of the theme.

I loved this show! The parts that were shown on WB/CW anyway. I have only seen the Americanized version, but I'm hoping if this gets rebooted they will show the full show somewhere, gay stuff included. Hey it's part of life. I know why they did it: This was on a kids block. Still though, butchering the show was not cool and then it just utterly disappeared. They probably gave up censoring and editing it, cause it wasn't making sense anymore.

 

I never watched the "real" version cause even though I see nothing wrong with boys liking boys I just don't feel I could go out of my way to find and watch it myself, but if it was just shown on TV again on a channel I get I'd watch it. It's a "I may not agree with your point of view but I'll defend it anyway" sort of thing, just that it might kinda dissuade me from watching something if there's too much of it. I dunno how much of it there was, honestly.

 

Add on the fact that I was like in my early teens and this was the first time I'd heard of a show being censored for same sex content and never being exposed to things like that at the time, I just didn't bother. I -could- probably watch Li being into another guy without batting an eye nowadays.

 

No actually, I would like to watch it regardless. I maintain I love/loved this show.

twilight would be the cardcaptor. rainbow dash would be kero. rarity as tomoyo. and so forth. i would totally suspect them all. Sakura's gang, to posess elements of harmony by then :3
