Luna is proof of Equestria's monarchial tyranny

Luna tries to kill Celestia, she threatened to cover up Equestria in eternal darkness and 1000 years later she tries to kill Twilight.

After she is defeated she is given her title of Princess and her authority to rule again... what.

Even in medieval times her actions would have called her head to the guillotine.

Like how Starlight was quickly forgiven for nearly destroying equestria and getting rid of cutiemarks with no punishment whatsoever and if villians like Discord can be given a second chance then why not try to negotiate with Tirek and Chrysalis who only wants to take care of her young? And not to mention the dazzlings who are probably rotting in the human world.

In case like this there's not such thing like court, judges or anything. Celestia as a wise ruler decides what to do with Luna. And she knows that the Nightmare Moon incident was her fault, so why shouldn't she let Luna be princess?

NMM never tried to kill Twilight. Everything done was meant to scare the 6. Not outright kill them. Because why? One less pony to appreciate her beautiful night. And they're still her subjects

You may have noticed that forgiveness has been quite the recurring theme during the run of the cartoon.  Only those very few villains that have shown no remorse for their actions, or willingness to reform, such as Chrysalis, Sombra and Tirek have been denied a second chance.

We know that in Equestria, friendship is the ultimate magical power, it would make sense therefore that in order to truly defeat an enemy, one must befriend them, so that they choose for themselves to no longer be an enemy.  Without this forgiveness, someone will only end up having to fight them again further down the line, or in Sombra's case, (seemingly) destroy them altogether.

This sounds like some Christian stuff. You can kill thousands, and steal from many but as long as you accept Jesus Christ as your savior, all your sins will be forgiven.

first ITS A KIDS SHOW, second one can redeem him, herself even in the middle ages that concept was known, Thirdly Luna was sort of  posessed  which makes the argument that she didnt mean to do all the things she did.

She knew very well what she was doing. Didn't you watch Do Princesses' Dream of Magical Sheep?

And in this song she clearly states how she felt about Celestia taking the spotlight.

Luna was not possessed.

Prolly thought that because of the comics differing from the cartoon.

that doesnt mean that she wanted to go to such extremes.

One thing to keep in mind is that the world of Equestria has proven to be fairly resilient and long-lasting; despite the rulers being very forgiving of those who have committed wrong-doings. The bad thing is that we're applying real-world situations to a world that just doesn't reflect it; at least in certain cases. We can insist that a villain should've been executed or what-not, but that isn't being fair to that certain culture.

Granted it sort of bit them in the butt with Discord betraying them, but it seems to have worked out for them in more cases than not.

But they'd have also burned Luna for being a witch... you know... the whole "possessed by darkness", "eternal night" power trip she went on... Doesn't exactly endear you with the local pony populace if you see what I mean.
