It has been about a week since Guardian has returned home from his training. Over the course of four years he has learned so much. Not only is he able to defend the ones that he cares about, but he also learned how to be a better stallion. Along with many other skills at his disposal he is a force to be reckoned with. But, now that all of his training is over he can finally relax and actually enjoy the days as they come. Of course he still sticks to his training that his old master gave him, but that doesn't mean he won't have time to head out and wonder around Ponyville. Which is what he is doing now.

 

Guardian is now walking along a path in the park. Admiring the day and feeling the warmth of the sun on his golden fur.

Renee was minding her business at the park, fixing a bird house for the young filly. Her tools was besides her at all times. "Hmm.. Alright.. Where's my screw driver?" She looked in her box but none could be found. "W-WHERES MY SCREWDRIVER!?" She panicked, getting up and looking around for the screwdriver. What she didn't know that her tool was heading straight towards a stallion with golden fur and white mane.

@@VinylWubs, Guardian walked along the path, looking around and admiring his surrounding. The place he grew up in has surely changed over the course of time that he was away. His hoof came into contact with an object and he looked down. He saw a screwdriver that rolled up to him with no pony around to claim it. He bent down and picked it up, "Well hey there little thing. Now, who do you belong to?"

 

"Where's my screwdriver?!" He looked around for the source of the voice. That pony must be the owner.

Renee was getting very impatient of finding her screwdriver. She started to sweat even thinking of finding it. Alright Renee stay calm.. You'll find your item soon.. Just ask around and see if any pony has your screwdriver. Her face was already started to cool off as she started asking around, saying the same thing bit by bit: "Have you, by any chance, seen my screwdriver?" She would say to the ponies around her. Many people shook their heads in sympathy before walking away.

 

All of a sudden, she turned her head towards a stallion... HOLDING HER SCREWDRIVER!? She ran over to him with bold eyes. "H-hey! You found my tool! T-thank you sir!"

@@VinylWubs, The golden yellow stallion walked around finding out who owned the screwdriver. He asked many ponies the same thing, "Does this belong to you?" but not a single one said that it was theirs. "A screwdriver doesn't just up and walk away from the pony who owns it." he said to himself. Just then a unicorn mare runs in front of him "H-hey! You found my tool! T-thank you sir!" 

 

The mare looked ecstatic that she has found her tool. "So this belongs to you? Well, here you go." he says, handing the tool over to its rightful owner

The mare was thrilled to bits that she had found her screwdriver in safe han- hooves. "So this belongs to you? Well, here you go." almost immediately, her screwdriver was in his hoof and ready to be returned. Renee picked up her screwdriver and placed it besides her ear. "T-thank you for retrieving my tool.. I don't know what I'll do without it!" She said to the stallion before giving him a gentle smile. "Well, I better get going.. That foal over there is waiting..".

 

Renee started walking towards her "working station" before turning around towards him. "What's your name?"

Guardian handed over the screwdriver. It was always nice to help other ponies out. This is what he was all about. Helping others. Or protecting them. Whichever came first he would guess. The mare thanked him and went on about her business. Guardian was just about to also when the mare turned around and asked for his name, "My name is Guardian Angel. But my friends call me Guardian for short. What is your name?"

Renees ear rang a little as she heard his name been introduced. "Guardian huh? Nice to meet you! I'm Renee Tweaker.. Most ponies call me Renee.. As you can see behind my ear is the screwdriver you picked up. You.. Could say I'm a technician or something but that's my duty in Canterlot." She walked over to him, holding out her hoof to shake his. Sure this felt a little awkward for Renee but at least she's making progress through it. Besides, what could be the consequences of meeting somepony new?

Guardian nodded his head when the unicorn, Renee, said her name, "Its nice to meet you," he said while meeting her outstretched hoof with his own, "A technician huh? Its not often you meet many ponies in our field of work. What was it you were working on when you lost your screwdriver?" he asked while smiling. His smile is something that never goes away. To many, it can be contagious and they would walk on by with a smile on their face whether they knew it or not.

Renee smiled as she withdraw her hoops back to the ground. "Hmm? What I was working on? Oh, it was just a simple robot that a Colt broke when he tripped up. I felt really sorry for the Colt so.. I offered him to help get his robot back to life. On the flipside.. It was a miniature robot.. So far I'm 99% done.. It's just the head that is bugging me a bit.. Other than that.. I'm pretty much completed his robot pal!" She explained, leviating her screwdriver to the air just for amusement.

@@VinylWubs, Guardian chuckled as she levitated the screwdriver around. "A little toy robot you say? Wow, I haven't played with one of those in years. Well, since you are almost done with the toy, I should let you get back to it. I'm sure the little Colt is wondering when his favorite toy will be done."

The unicorn let out a soft giggle and smiled at the stallion in front of her. "Heh, yea.. We do not want any complaints around here.. Do we Guardian?" She said before starting to walk away from him. "See you later!" She called out before walking back to her "area". Once she arrived back, she picked up the robot and grabbed her screwdriver. At once she got to work, twisting the gears around and screwing the nuts until they're tight. Once she had finally finished repairing the robot, she called out to the Colt to come over. "Hey kid! I got it working for you!" Immediately, the Colt ran over, squealing like a little girl. "Thank you miss!!" He cried out before grabbing the robot and running away with it.

Guardian turned to leave after Renee went to fix the robot. He only made it a short way when the little colt ran past him with the robot in tow. He smiled as he saw how excited the little one was with his toy fixed. He took one look behind him and caught a glimpse of the unicorn. 'She does look pretty cute.' he said in his head. He turned back to face the front and sighed a heavy sigh. A little nag could be felt in the back of his head. 'It has been a while since I had any sort of interaction with another pony. Maybe we can be friends.' With that thought in mind, he turned back around and walked to Renee.

 

"Hey, do you wanna go grab some coffee? My treat. I don't have many friends anymore since I left. And you seem like fun." he said. In his head he slapped his face as hard as he could. 'Smooth Casanova'

Renee was busy packing up her tools in her tool box until a familiar voice could be hear. Her eyes immediately raced up to see who was talking. Only to find out it was the stallion whom picked up her screwdriver. "Hah, alright. I could go with a cup of tea right now.. Lead the way!" She said, picking her tool box with her aura. Firstly, she met a random stallion with glorious mane and fur.. Now he wants to take he out for coffee? Such luck in 4 minutes!

@@VinylWubs, Guardian smiled even brighter when hearing that she would love to get some coffee/tea. "I know of a good place that serves both on their menu. And, if you want, we can stop by your place so you can drop off your tools."

 

Today went from a boring routine that was drilled into his head, to a nice and relaxing one that he gets to spend getting to know this nice mare.

Renee smiled and nodded her head. "Sure! That sounds awesome!" This day has gotten even more interesting for this mare. Met a stallion that could be.. "Caring" for her.. Been asked out for coffee/tea and possibly, she's been asked out on a date? Depends on the situation. O-OMG.. I think I'm in love- N-no! Don't go believing he's the one for you! It's a friendly date! Not a romantic date! "So.. Lead the way Guardian!"

@@VinylWubs, Guardian laughed, "I would lead the way, Renee, but I do not know where it is you live. After that, then of course I'll lead the way." This day couldn't get any better for him. He was going to get some coffee with a beautiful mare. He felt his heart quicken at the thought. 'A date? N-no. It's n-not a d-date. Its just a friendly chit-chat. Y-yeah, that's all...he he he' With out him knowing, a small blush appeared on his face.

Renee laughed gently and smiled, noticing a blush on his face. "H-hey.. Are you okay? You're... Turning red very quickly." She asked before turning red a little bit. This "date" thought was making her heart race, her face becoming dark red without knowing and sweating was also increasing, "s-so.. S-shall we head off before this becomes more awkward for both of us?" She asked, starting to walk out of the park.

The golden Earth Pony shook his head to agree with what Renee asked. He was too afraid to say anything for fear that he would potentially say something that he will regret.

 

Soon after leaving the park, the two were walking through Ponyville, "So Renee," Guardian said, hoping to start a conversation that didn't involve embarrassing himself, "How long have you been in Ponyville?"

By the time they've left the park, Renees face was red as a tomato. This is going to be very awkward for her, considering she had never been on a date before.. Heck, she hasn't gone out with any stallion before but her cousin.. But that was the past, as they say.

 

"H-huh?" She shook her head to hide the blush on her face. "U-umm.. Not that long. Nearly most of my life was in Canterlot but.. I moved here in my mid teenage years.. So I'm still kinda new to Ponyville. What about you? How long have you been here?" She asked, tilting her head sideways.

Guardian racked his brain, "If I remember correctly, I moved to Ponyville with my parents when I was just a little colt. I stayed here till I was old enough to join the guard. Went and traveled the world for four years, then returned about a week ago. So I would say about 10 years." Guardian said as he spotted the blush on Renee's face. 'Aww, she is cute when she blushes.'

Renees eyes went small, hearing the words rattle in her mind, Parents, Parents, Parents.. Why did they leave me.. Parents.. By now she would be on the ground crying but.. That is very unlike her. So, to try cover it up. Renee smiled at him fakely before signing lightly. "Wow, you're lucky.. I guess.. The only places I've been to.. As a filly, is Canterlot, Appleloosa and Ponyville. The rest are very unknown to me" she said, looking down at her hooves with an even walking pace. There was something bothering Renee but she didn't want to spill it.. YET..

Guardian gave a small sigh, "I wouldn't call my life lucky. My parents were traveling sale's ponies. I never stayed in the same place for more than a few months till I came to Ponyville. Even then when I grew up, I left to join the Royal Guard. Then went to travel the world. It would sound fun, but I didn't get to interact with anyone for a long time. My master said that it would help by keeping me from getting attached to them. I was so alone." Guardian said as a tear escaped from his eye.

Renees eyes went small as she noticed a tear drop. So, trying to make the best of her efforts.. She hugged him. Stroking his back gently to try comfort him. "H-hey.. It's alright. Everypony has their faults.. So no need to feel left out. You see.. I lost my mother when she left me alone.. My father was already unknown to me as a filly.." Renee sighed before a tear escaped her eyes gently.

Guardian was taken back at the sudden hug Renee gave him. When she apologized to him for his past, and told him a little more about his, he felt better. He put a comforting smile on his face and hugged her back. "Its never easy to be alone. And coming from the lives we had, I'm surprised we didn't cave a long time ago." He said, chuckling at the end.
