Unlikeable Pony 2,692 Posted June 24, 2016 Share Posted June 24, 2016 Its kind of funny; one of the recurring things that I see mentioned over and over again in this thread is "don't gear the movie specifically towards fans", when that's what I WANT. I want a movie that is about the world's lore and continuity and is based around stuff that the show's been building up to. I WANT a movie that deals with stuff that has been talked about but never done in the show, like explaining lore about the Tree of harmony or starswirl.I don't want this to just be a random Anime movie deal where it has zero to do with anything else in the show and is more or less non-canon, and I want some actual stuff to change in the status quo. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I don't need this one ruining a movie with her alicorn-matching magic. I'd like this to be one with the Mane 6. No extra 7th pony joining in. I also wouldn't like it to be 100% geared to us bronies. I'd like lore and info on the world a bit more, sure, but we aren't their target market. I also don't want them to use the movie to round off Generation 4. But that's a given. Don't be; I'm someone who WANTS that to happen, and I've quite accepted that's not going to happen awhile ago The general trend of the show points directly to the opposite; The past 2 two parters have had the other 5 as cameos, and less and less focus/emphasis has been placed on them in regard to situations of import. In order for them to do a "make the other 5 alicorns" Plot, they'd have to do a plot where MORE emphasis was placed on THEM than twilight, and that's frankly not ever going to happen (as an example, even when Fluttershy was supposedly the one that reformed discord, far more importance was placed on his relationship with twilight being what was important for reforming him). Plus, they would most probably have episodes focusing more on grooming the group as a whole for the task, such as trying to give an organic reason for AJ or pinkie to want to do that in life when they have shown zero ambitions for anything past what they already HAVE, or a focus on the others in leadership roles or whatnot. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I know the tile of the show is called Friendship is Magic and all, but at this point the writers are way overdoing the concept of villain redemption. While I do agree that Starlight should not be the focus of the film, she should at least be as important as the rest of the cast. With her slow but steady transition into main character status, it would be silly to leaver her out. As for Spike, after the first 2 seasons, they stopped leaving him out of major quests, (with the exception of the S5 premiere, but they had good reasons for that) so I'm not too worried about him missing this one. They stated at the russian conference that they were hoping it'd be epic enough to feel like "Lord of the rings but with ponies" and there are Guardians of harmony toys planned for it, so I think we can safely assume it'll have a heavy adventure/action focus (Even if I'm pretty much 100% certain the russian conference was just them trying to hype it up to bronies and knew that bronies tend to, as a whole, over emphasize adventure to get hyped) I don't know if we'll actually get anything in the movie intended to be a GOH tie in (Armor or whatnot specifically designed for toymaking), but its definitely going to try to push the envelope ala the S4 finale, IMO. 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Okay, I'll be fair and give you a real answer. Um...I don't want it to be centered around or heavily feature Turbulence Cardioid. Y'know, Cadance's little bundle of horror. That seemed like cheesy answer. Here, I'll give you the real real answer: I want them to pay attention to lore and continuity and not throw in a bunch of random new characters with no explanation. For the love of Celestia, don't Total Rickall any more characters of out nowhere.
