Will the movie outdo Frozen?

I'm watching the news, and they've been hyping Frozen live at the Hyperion (which is sold out for a year, even before its opening), and it's a live stage performance where the cast interact with the audience, in the isles, fancy digital projections and techy stuff that immerses the audience from all angles, etc. And I'm just thinking, could MLP THE MOVIE be this big a hit, to do sonething like this; to still be massively successful to the point of obnoxiousness, selling out live shows, going all out with tech and such, so many years later?

Will MLP's Movie outdo Frozen in all these ways?

No, it cant outdo Frozen. Disney fan can outnumber bronies. Disney is for anyone. FIM is fpr bronies, sadly...

Don't forget the kids. WON'T SOMEBODY PLEASE THINK OF THE CHILDREN? but yeah it'll be 80% bronies and 20% families at the theaters pretty much

I heart MLP soooooo much, but....

Never in a million years! Frozen had a lot going for it: hit song, great characters, twist ending, the political hype, that company that PiratePony owns (jk but not really: WALT DISNEY COMPANY),.

I have no doubt it will do quite well. ..but our equine princesses won't beat the Ice Queen.

...they made a live stage performance based on Frozen? I just don't get it - how come this movie is still a thing?

But if MLP gets so successful it spawns a live stage show... I just hope it doesn't look like this abomination :P

Why are we comparing the MLP movie to Frozen? Frozen and Disney command a far broader and more mainstream audience than Hasbro will ever have, at least with respect to the MLP franchise.

Disney could probably BUY Hasbro or MLP if it really wanted too;  that's the sheer difference in power we are talking about.

So I don't think expecting MLP to out perform a Disney property is a reasonable question too ask.

...Ladies and Gentleman, let's be real here.

I think this movie won't even make half of the money Frozen makes and i think some people just have too high expectations for it.

Wow, scary! it's like the Mane 4s faces melted or or something...

Rarity and Fluttershy are lucky to have been spared being present for this terrible production. The characterizations are so far off I think I'd rather watch my least favorite episodes a dozen times than sit through this. (I had to stop watching upon hearing Pinkie's dialogue.)

If the movie breaks 100 million domestically,  I think Hasbro will be satisfied.

Quality? HELL YES!! Frozen was an alright film that 100% undeserved attention.

Box Office? Hell no. There's no way this movie will gross $1.3 billion unless hell freezes (no pun intended) over.

Half the money is $650 million worldwide. That's more than enough.

I don't think the movie will outdo Frozen. Remember, frozen is a Disney movie, A FRICKIN' DISNEY MOVIE! The Disney name has got a lot of brand recognition; at least a whole lot more than MLP in comparison and The Walt Disney Company are often regarded as THE producer of quality family media by the general public (though I have to disagree when it comes to Frozen, I thought it was overrated, and I had to see it four times at school). With that said, though, the movie should at least be a modest success. I don't expect much more or less considering we're talking about My Little Pony in its current generation.

Box office wise, the movie may not even get half of what Frozen grossed. Even 650 Million is a stretch and realistically the hype for Frozen contributed to it's success.

No, it can't. As optimistic as you could be, it's not difficult to realise Frozen could undeniably destroy an MLP movie in terms of income. The Frozen audience is just larger, people of all ages like it. Sure, MLP has children and adults, but this isn't all demographics, and bronies aren't a large enough audience to outdo the Frozen audience.

Frozen garnered around $1.28 BILLION. This makes Frozen the 9th more successful film EVER MADE. Frozen was developed on a $150 million budget and took YEARS to produce. Only around 25 films every made have made over a billion dollars.

The chances of the MLP movie touching that is slim to none. Very slim to none.

Honestly, I am kind of hoping this movie doesn't make even half as much as Frozen so bronies can finally see that bronies don't really make Hasbro as much money as they think they do.

Let's be honest people, Frozen is one of the highest grossing movies of all time and ended up making around 1.28 billion dollars in the box office.

The MLP movie is never going to make anywhere around that kind of money.

I doubt it will even make half or even a third of what Frozen made.

I'd be surprised if it made even a quarter of what Frozen made.

There's absolutely NO chance that the movie will even come close to outdoing Frozen.

No. I'd love it to, but no. That's more than likely not the kind of success this movie is going to get, and it's not the kind it needs either. I don't think that's what Hasbro's expecting either, a modest success will be fine.

That said, if it does somehow do that, then I will buy a replica of AJ's hat and eat it, seriously. Praise Celestia if that happens, cause that's like a sign of divine influence right there.

I'm still on the fence as to whether the FiM movie will even be good. Have we already forgotten the Equestria Girls movies? Or does the mere fact that the characters are quadrupedal again mean that those don't count?

20-40 minute self contained episodes are one thing, and the latter already has a tendency to feel a bit stretched sometimes, but a feature length film is a different can of worms.

Comparing it to the likes of Frozen and Zootopia? Fat chance.

You're out of your freaking mind and are really overestimating the fandom if you seriously think the MLP movie could outdo one of Disney's most successful movies ever
