Have you ever interacted with families at conventions?

Recommended Posts

Just a thought I had whilst encountering writer's block for some homework...

For those of you who've gone to MLP conventions, have you ever met any families with little girls (or little boys) who also are fans of MLP? If so, what were the parent(s) reactions? Did they inquire about the brony fandom in general? Were they willing to let their children talk/interact with you?

I have never interacted with anyone personally but one of the more memorable experiences this year was at babscon seeing many families all coming and enjoying my little pony. The little boys and dads as well. Mom, dad and the kids were all ponying up.

Well, not at conventions. But there were a couple times I wore MLP merch in public, and faced similar circumstances. The one that sticks out to me the most was when a little girl asked her dad if she could take a picture with me when I was wearing my Dashie snapback and a Starswirl shirt.

I guess the dad knew about MLP, because he looked pretty amused. We didn't really talk, though. He snapped a picture, thanked me, and they left.

No, because I've never been to a convention. However, once at shitcollege, when we all went to watch the UK premiere of DBZ: Resurrection F (In that town), I saw some cosplayers in a group, and a kid in a Goku T-shirt. I told the kid his shirt was awesome, to the pleasant surprise of his mother, who looked like she was internally deciding to never take her son to watch a movie so violent again, up until that point. The kid was suddenly so happy, it was really surprising.
