Movie merch- should we expect it?

I think we should expect merch to be produced based on the movie. And me personally I'm hoping it is something I'll actually want to buy.

Yes. Yes, we should. Hasbro is, by its nature, a toy company. So it wouldn't make sense for them to NOT make toys based off the movie.

Its going to be interesting when next year's toy fair rolls around and we get all sorts of spoilers for the movie from it

Not sure if we can expect "freebies", especially ones beyond themed popcorn baskets. It would be a nice, memorable addition, though, and if I were running a company that had a successful TV franchise with an upcoming movie, I'd definitely make a deal with a toy company and as much cinema chains as possible so that cinemagoers can have a toy or something to come home with in exchange for buying a ticket.

 

As for movie tie-in merchandise, we can (and should, this is Hasbro after all) expect TONNES of merchandise. I'm sure that as we speak, Hasbro is making their own line of movie toys, and signing deals with licensors for even more merchandise.

This is a Hasbro property, of course we'll get merch. Toys and cartoons are there bread and butter.

You simply must show off your Spaceballs Flamethrower. I heard it was quite popular with kids.

In select markets, depending on their Exhibitor Relations rep, this may be a thing, yes.

When Return of the Jedi: Special Edition came out ... these were given out in Orlando and other markets. 

 

 

Nice surprise for those who went to see it opening night. I still have two now that I think about it. So movie and toy manufactures do partner with freebies. Not sure if Hasbro has done this since Kenner.

We can dream of free stuff, but free stuff we will not get. Though, it should be exciting to see what new shirts, toys, etc. Hasbro will put out for the movie. Cross your hooves for good stuff!
