I still have questions about how I'll get notifications.

If you go to the calendar that you would like notifications from and click the 'follow' button you should receive notifications of events for the coming day, the same way as you would receive your normal notifications for any other topics you follow in the rest of the forums.

 

This also depends on the way you have set up the way you receive notifications in your profile.

If you go to your profile 'My Settings' and select 'Notification options' you will see a section that allows you to select how to change the way you are notified about, or if you notified about, any Calendar that you are following, or any other topics that you are following
