A mysterious letter has just arrived for you, upon opening it you find out that there is a very large sum of money to be collected by you. The only thing is, you have to travel to an estate to claim the money. The estate is high in the hill tops of Canterlot in a mansion that was owned by the late Mr. Body. He was quite the figure in Canterlot and all across Equestria. He made very charitable donations to many different organizations. 

 

Dear __________, 

 

It is with deep sorrow that I am writing to inform you about the death of Mr. Body. His will stated that you are aire to his estate, please come to the manner at once. The lawyers are ready with the paperwork that needs to be signed within the week.

Do you go and see if everything is up to snuff? Do you toss your letter aside with the rest of the junk mail? Do you instantly pack your bags and on the next train to Canterlot?

My idea is to basically follow the game of Clue and have everypony that is involved be a part of finding clues and figuring out "who done it?" I would like to have six participants aside from me. I will be playing the hostess and I will be leaving you clues to follow as the story progresses. I would also like to include giving the clues via Private Message so as the other's won't have it so easy. I will try to lay out scenes in as much detail as possible but you will have to ask each other for clues, you will all have your identities a secret from each other as to who the murder is and who was the victim. 

 

No pony will be killed off, think of this as just a fun murder mystery dinner party. We will all have our roles and we will have to do our best to figure out the murderer. Dun, dun, dun!

Rules:

-No godmodding.

-Please no NSFW content. This is a mystery, there should be no sexual or gory detail within this RP. 

-Please keep the posts neat and tidy, grammar and spelling are important. As you can see I have used a different color for what my character says and what she thinks to allow a bit of a easy way to see it. 

-Please keep up with the RP, post at least once a day, and no more than five per day. This will give us a chance to breathe, let members catch up and not get burnt out on having to reply to everything. 

-If you have not replied I will send you a PM to see if everything is okay. 

--If you are going to be gone or unable to post for any reason please let us know in the OOC or PM me.

---If there is inactivity for longer than 5 days with no reply to a PM or the OOC I will have to drop you from the RP and find someone to replace you. 

-Please feel free to PM me about any concerns or problems that might arise during the course of this RP. I want everyone to have a good time and have fun, but we can't do that if something is bothering you.

I know it seems a bit harsh, but the few RP's that I have been in that someone played more than one OC it just got taxing.    If we can fill up a few more slots and get this somewhat going and there

Once i saw this, i remembered an oc i created named Crystal. her name comes from how she makes things Crystal clear. yes i know you are the one providing clues, but she'll figure it out from these clues. maybe.

and i'm assuming once this is done, you'll pick the murderer?

You will know who each other is, but you won't know who the murderer is, or who is the victim until the end. But the backstories of the ponies and everything will be public information.

 

Just like the actual game you have the envelope with the murderer, weapon, and place, and the only person who knows who it is, is the person holding it.

 

So basically I will roll a dice and I will pick the murderer, and we will have a list of pony related murder weapons and I will have a list of all the rooms in the mansion.

Also, it's been awhile since i've played clue so i don't remember a lot of the rules. so i hope i don't need to know how to play clue to be in the rp.

Good thing i don't have to re-learn the rules, I'll use the time to figure out an introductory post and i can finally put my knowledge of the test post part of the forums to use.

Okay, that would be great.

 

I do think that an OC profile has to be made just to be kinda legit. and for the other RPers can look at it and get a sense of who your pony is.

 

I am more than happy to help you with the profile and backstory and cutie mark and such. Send me a PM and we can discuss this further. :squee:

@Stardust*, technically I have an OC, but her special talent/cutie mark is so lame/ not really fitting for the kind of story. So she really has no experience because of her cutie mark...

@@Stardust*, Is there a limit on the amount of ocs?

 

I want to try and keep it to one OC per person simply because it can get pretty chaotic trying to do more than one, and people get burnt out too quickly having to deal with that type of situation. I have been thinking about putting the actual RP thread in the Advanced RP section to help keep this going and getting people that will keep up with posting and if not then we can find replacements. I just want to actually see a RP from start to finish... (has yet to happen lol) And I think that if we have it in the Advanced area we may have a fighting chance to keep it there. Idk, still kind of up in the air about it. 

 

I loved Clue. This looks like fun. I'd like to jump on this and I can come up with an OC on the spot. Just let me know where the OC's profile can be put. *already has a character in mind*

If you look further down in the Role Play section you will find the Character Database, if you input your information there for your character it will be approved and then you can use it as your OC. Please post again when you have completed that and I can see if your OC will fit. :fluttershy: 

 

Remember the name of your OC and if you can copy paste the URL of your OC profile in your next post here so we can take a quick look at it instead of having to search for it in the database.

@@Stardust*, That's disappointing, I myself can handle using more than one oc, but I guess if you say yes that opens up other players doing the same, and that allows the list to fill up more quickly with one person rather than more than one.

If we can fill up a few more slots and get this somewhat going and there is only a spot or two left I might open it up to an additional OC's of those who are already on the list.

I don't really have an OC. I thought we would play a pony version of the characters. I like the Clue movie, so I would play one of them, or somepony similar.

Awesome! Thanks for accepting him. He's only the second ever OC I created, lol. And I've not done an RP in a pre-made world/story/etc in a long long time. So, this will be fun. (Don't worry, I still have plenty of RP experience otherwise, lol.)
