How should I go about doing this ask blog thing? Do I only answer questions or can I put other RP shtuffz in there as well?

Hun, it's your blog, you can do whatever you want with it.

 

HOWEVER, depending on how often you post, you might wanna make a separate blog if your RP's don't involve the main pone that's being asked. Some followers can be a little picky and only want to see the asks being answered.

I have had an ask blog on tumblr for a few years and tend to answer questions and RP on the same blog. People don't seem care very much, when I started I just copied what others where doing.
