Me! I live close to a theme park, Carowinds, where we just got a new B&M Giga Coaster last year, Fury 325. I've rode it 22 time. I'm hoping we can get an RMC down here, since, all of them tend to be in the midwest or west...

However, there have been rumors that Carowinds may get an RMC or a GCI woodie. I'm hoping for an RMC because then, we'd have barrel rolls, loops and overbanked turns.

Oh Hi! @C. ThunderDash

Never knew you like roller coaster and music both ^_^ we have things in common

Nice to know you live by Carowinds (might go there someday)

My home park is Six Flags magic mountain. Which has guess what.....an RMC hybrid. (Though deep at heart I prefer the original Colossus)

@@Captain Whirlwind,

Ah yep, Twisted Colossus. The old one will always be in my heart as well. And also jealous that you got Kingda Ka, that Intamin Stratacoaster...though you do have to sign a waiver to ride it. It's been beat out by both it's records you know. Skyride at Skyplex is 500 feet and will be completed soon. The fastest coaster now is Formula Rossa at Ferrari World Abu Dubai. The cloaster's made by Intamin and it reaches speeds up to 145mph. You'd have to wear safety goggles on that ride, because you certainly don't wanna get hit in the eye by a bug or anything...eesh...

I love roller coasters! So much fun! I remember a real nasty one back east in Crystal Beach, NY called The Wild Mouse. The cars were attached to the tracks by a framework at the rear of the car, so when you reached a tight curve in the tracks, the car didn't turn until you were out over the edge and thinking you were gonna die. The coaster itself wasn't so bad, but leaning out over the tracks was terrifying!

Aside from that, my best experiences were at Disneyland (Matterhorn was my first), Cal Adventure (Screamin'), WDW (Rockin' Roller Coaster) and Knott's Berry Farm, where MontaZOOMa had its revenge.

In all the years I've lived in SoCal, I've never been to Six Flags Magic Mountain. An oversight I fully intend to remedy!!!

Nope! Kingda Ka is at Six Flags Great Adventure. But I have rode that back in 2012.

And yeah coaster industries are pushing lotta boundries right now. Skyplex will be pretty insane though.

I'm gonna be visiting Cedar Point in 2 weeks!

Yeah. I'm mostly excited for all their coasters

You'll get to ride Valveran (however you spell it), the new diving coaster) when you go, and Top Thrill Dragster. Don't forget Millinium Force and Maverick. Soooo many great and classic rides there.

@Captain Whirlwind

Because the context of this thread seems to be more of a general question and not necessarily relating to media, I have moved it to General Discussion.

Thank you.

I can't wait to go to Cedar Point :)

I've been to Cedar Point several times, though I haven't gone since 2012. It's a lovely park!

My thoughts on some of the coasters:

  • The Millenium Force & the Maverick are the excellent coasters, but the lines can be very long
  • The Magnum XL 200 is an underrated gem which usually has a short line depending on the day you go. Sometimes its less than 10/15 minutes.
  • I'd suggest not riding the Blue Streak or the Corkscrew. They jerk you around so much that its not worth the headache
  • The Dragster is probably my favorite ride there. Usually the lines are a bit shorter near nightfall
  • The Max Air is my favorite non-coaster. I usually ride it 2 or 3 times
  • Avoid the Raptor until later in the day. Early on, the line is usually exceedingly long

Magnum XL- 200 is a landmark to the coaster world. I wanna ride it so bad.

I just wanna ride every coaster

I love it but I don't get the opportunity to go as much anymore. Life hits hard

You don't have to ride a roller coaster to be an enthusiast you know. :)

I know some people that have motion sickness, but they still love researching roller coasters

I haven't been on one in years, but I do love them - only time I have ever bunked off work (not my current job mind, just some student job during my studies) it was to go to a theme park XD.

Living in the UK have never been to any Six Flags, but have been to most of the Tussauds parks over here (Thorpe Park being my most visited).

Favourite coasters: Colossus, Nemesis Inferno and Air (now apparently called Galactica), but new ones have opened since my last visits - might have to round up my friends soon and plan another trip or two!

I've loved 'em all my life.  I got hugely addicted to Roller Coaster Tycoon for years due to my predilection for coasters.  (Once in awhile I drag that game back out, but I have to forcibly limit myself or get dangerously addicted again.)  When I was a kid, I even wanted to grow up to design them for real, though that goal didn't stick or pan out.  I still love them, though.  But I also hate traveling, which directly conflicts with my love of coasters.  :(  Just means I don't visit as many different parks as I'd like to.

Holey moley, that Fury 325 looks amazing!  I watched the POV video on youtube.  Although it can't do the real thing justice, I could immediately tell that it looked very unique, and probably head and shoulders above most other giga coasters.  You know, I think it's a wonderful thing that we live in an age where you can search for literally any coaster in existence (and even ones that have been long since decommissioned) and find an HD POV video of it.  It means that in some form at least, I can sorta ride any coaster on the planet.  I love digitally "visiting" all of these places around the world and riding all these crazy coasters I've heard of.  I have a coffee table book on coasters with all kinds of record holders (albeit outdated now).  I got that book long before youtube and steaming video and all that was really big.  I memorized the world record hall of fame in that book, and now I get to "travel" around on youtube and see what all these coasters are actually like!  It's really fun, especially because you can go to any exotic place that you'd never actually visit for real.  A couple of my favorite coasters that I've "ridden" on youtube are Dragon Khan in Spain, and Hair Raiser in China.  Hair Raiser has to be one of the most stunning locations for a coaster, ever.  Oh, and Fury 325, of course.  That reminds me, I've been meaning to watch the POV of The Ultimate at Lightwater Valley, which I believe is still the world record holder for longest coaster, both in track length and ride duration.
