I smell finale setup here. I knew they wouldn't do anything drastic with a single, standard episode, but this definitely feels like it is putting something forth for the finale. Seeing Sunburst again will be awesome, really been wanting that. Flurry Heart...eh, not so much. I don't hate her or anything but a baby character like that in a show like this is so typical and kinda boring.

 

I notice that Starlight is not in the description though. While I am not convinced on her fully, I would love to see more interaction between her and Spike.

This was one of the best DS9 episodes! There were reports of changelings in San Francisco and things get all tense suspecting anyone could be a changeling. Turns out suspicion was the real villain.

 

You see, they got the idea from an old Ron Serling Twilight Zone ep. If this is where they are going with it ... I'll be impressed

I dunno why Sunburst is going to the Crystal Empiyah if he already live there . Maybe he was just visiting Poniville or it was an error and they meant Starlight. Well, we have to wait and see. Maybe Starlight actually IS coming along and it's just a typo. Zap made mistakes before, when they thought the entire Mane Six were gonna star in the season 5 finale when it was just Twilight and Spike. Sunburst is already living in the empire! So Spike's gonna travel with Twilight and Starlight to the empire to visit Flurry.

 

Looks like we have our Spike episode number two this season! I somehow have the feeling that it's gonna be about Spike befriending the changeling. That would give him some development! I'm already hyped for this!

I really think the Sunburst thing is a typo. (Heck, I made the exact same mistake while live-commenting during "The Crystalling" and called Starlight "Sunburst!")

 

The description doesn't make sense with him there. Why would he need to be visiting Flurry? He lives there and is her Crystaller! And the same is true for him discovering everypony "in a panic" - he would already know this since he's there.

 

They probably meant Starlight, though I hope both she and Sunburst are in the episode.

 

The emphasis on Spike in the description leads me to think this really will be one of our two remaining Spike episodes! I imagine he and Twilight made a plan for this visit so she could visit her neice and he could mingle with all his fanponies.

 

Now the hard part is waiting a month and a half for it to air...

Ok I think I might know why Starlight isn't in the description. If I'm right, and Spike does befriend this changeling to prove that he's actually a good changeling, then if Starlight was there, she would agree with him right away and therefore it would probably be too easy for Spike to prove the changeling's innocence to Cadance. That would explain Starlight's possible absence.

Besides, the episode Every Little Thing She Does is probably gonna focus on Starlight and Spike's friendship anyway; at least I think so, so that might also explain her possible absence.

more Starlight ahoy >.<; There's no way they'll have a sunburst episode without starlight showing up as well, the two are kind of conjoined like Shining armor and cadence.


that being said, I LIKE sunburst, so I'll enjoy HIS scenes at least. Kind of interested in seeing how this plays out; I wonder if fan theory is right and there's an arc underway about Flurry heart being swapped with a changeling imposter? It'd be a neat setup for the finale.

Wow this sounds like it could be a very cool episode. It's interesting to see Sunburst without Starlight accompanying him. Hopefully based on how Spike is the emphasis in the description this is another good episode for him. Because god knows he needs it. 

 

And who can forget we get to see that adorable blob known as Flurry Heart.

I'm actually more excited about seeing/learning more about changelings considering our knowledge on them is very limited. Yes, I wouldn't mind seeing more Sunburst or Starlight (or both even) but I'm way more interested in knowing whom the changeling will be impersonating, if not more than one pony. If I were a changeling I would impersonate either one or more of the mane six if I wanted information right away. Or else I would impersonate one of the background ponies to be more casual about getting information.

I'm surprised there's no mention of Starlight Glimmer in the synopsis, let alone that we're getting a Changeling-centric episode before the finale.

It will be nice to possibly see Cadance and Shining Armor again, but knowing that Queen Chrysalis could be making a return will really be the main thing on their minds since they both know she is coming back seeking revenge on them for her defeat back in A Canterlot Wedding, and if Chrysalis' revenge involves Flurry Heart, that will really have Cadance and Shining Armor paranoid, fearing what would happen if Chrysalis was able to kidnap their daughter as part of her revenge against them.

 

Either way, it does confirm that the shape we saw flying towards the Empire at the end of The Crystalling was possibly a Changeling scout preparing for Chrysalis' siege by infiltrating the Empire to inspect the defenses and Flurry Heart so Chrysalis can plan her attack accordingly. Let's hope that Sunburst and Twilight are ready for it.
