Cresent's grip was failing "no not like" the portals tug intensified. Giant black hands cam out wrapping around cresent pulling him in "EMRALD GET LIGHT, GET COOL-" he could continue as he was sucked in before the mares eyes. The portal closed leaving no trace of cresent...........to be continued

 

Cresent woke up from panting finding himself on the same bed he left in the portal. He was shaking, sweating, and felt queasy. getting off the bed the batpony quickly ran towards the bathroom barfing into the toilet. As he did so his wings flapped hard making a loud slapping sound, then once the upheaving stopped he sighed flushing the spew down the toilet. Going to the sink he washed his face then looked at the mirror which he thought he was dreaming,

 

What looked back at him was himself, with a mustache and what looked like more stress lines he couldn't recognize the pony he was looking at do to him never growing any facial hair till....now apparently. He opened up the cabinet finding pill bottles and thankfully a shaving razor. He began shaving the mustache off.

Emerald walks in with a frustrated sign on her face. "I'm thinking sharpbeak could just cut my head off and I'd be more happy." She looked around for her husband. "Cres? Where are you?" She heard his heart. "Oh your in the bathroom."

 

She putts her head around the door. "Why? Why you shaving your tash off love?" She walked behind him, her appearance was normal apart from being in her vamparic form and wearing royal regalia. Kissing him on the cheek. "I did like your tash..."

As cresent was kissed he looked at emerald at his lover gave his a deep kiss and hugged her then pulled back a look of confusion on his face "you look lovely, but last I checked thought the formal stuff you didn't like too much. or did your boss bring you to another banquet?" he smirked looking back at the mirror then looked back at emerald  

 

"it dosent feel right is all. the stash I mean" he says

"Boss? What boss? When do queens have bosses? I was in the throne room today you know? This is my week have to wear this crap when I'm sitting in court. Why am I telling you this?" Shaking her head. "Next you'll of forgotten about our kids." She laughed walking into the main room sitting on the bed.

 

She sighed taking off her shoes. "These hurt to wear how do the sisters put up with wearing these on their hooves?" She fell back on her bed. "I hate sitting in court..."

@@Mentis Soliloquy, Cresent blinked at that last statement "kids? when did" cresent couldn't continue his statement as the bedroom door swung open and a philly and bat colt flew in colliding with cresent as he made his way out of the bathroom "daddy!" they cried in unison bring cresent to the ground. knocking the wind out of him.

 

"daddy gusse what I learned today!" said the little philly

 

"gusse what I learned too daddy!" the colt said both of them clinging onto cresent legs as he tried to stand but fell down again

 

"i learned about dragons! is that why you don't have a cuti mark?" asked the colt

 

"I learned about the hunters again im getting better at my dulling too" said the philly

 

"dragons? who said anything about dragons jr" cresent said trying to lift his leg up with the colt on it

 

"uncle dark beak did during our history lesson" the philly said

 

Cresent made a kind and pleading look towards emerald "i bet uncle darklight needs some sparing too" he says to the philly

 

"daddy why cant I spare with you?" asked the philly eagerly holding onto the batponys leg

"Because Jade your father is not a vampire, you are if you fought him you might really hurt your father would you want that?" She gets up, walking over.

 

"Look why are you two here school is not over for an hour anyway? If you want to fight you can duel me, Blackbeak or Sharpbeak." She gave a look only a mother could. "Now go do your home work and then we can talk about school and fighting."

@@Mentis Soliloquy, "yes mother" they both said disappointed letting go of cresent slouching back out, cresent got back up shakenly "jr and jade saves the, wait a second" he said looking at emerald

 

"run that vampire bit by me again I could still" he paused, the sound of her blood beat was non existent "why cant I hear your blood?" he asked

"What?" Looking at him puzzled. "What are you talking about hun, your not going to hear anything not being a vampire silly I keep offering to turn you but you keep saying no of chickening out."

 

She shakes her head yet again. "You hit your head or somthing? Look your a 40 year old thestral king of Manty you met me when I was in Princes Twilight's guard, we fell in love got married despite your family's disapproval until I came out telling them and you I was a vampire made it better, apart from you nearly leaving me." A tear came to her face. "Thought I nearly lost you when I told you we had two foals Jade, your beautiful vampire pegasus daughter. Then there's Jr. Your lovely thestral son and me your immortal wife you dummy. Everything covered there my king?"

@@Mentis Soliloquy, Cresent rushed his lover hugging her then looking at her, seeing a tear come to her he hated seeing. but how could it be all true? everything he knew was almost an exact opposite. the blood trails, the assassin, the blood lessons, willow, "im sorry love I just" he paused something was off but he couldn't work it out.  

 

"Just a ruff sleep last night" he said giving her a kiss. Her lips felt the same and she did still look beautiful too him but all these dots couldn't connect.

 

"now then I may have hit the cider a bit too hard last night at the banquet. how was court" he said wipping a tear from her face.

"Aw stop crying you softie, how your a king is frankly weird. As I said court sucked total... rude word, anyway I think I'm going to sleep for a week now thank Luna my week is over..." She kissed his neck smelling his blood under the skin.

 

"You good for a feeding? Or are you too under the weather?" Licking him this time her fangs begging to bite him, her will power from constantly feeding on her husband honestly astounded Emerald. He husband was the most sweet thing she'd ever fed on he was a walkimg talking drug to her. This had led to some incidents on her part going to far with him or Crescent allowing her to feed when he was weak.

@@Mentis Soliloquy, feeling her fangs near his neck made his wings stiffen, usualy he would bite her himself yet aperntly hes no vamp. he wondered if her blood still tasted the same as it always had, for all he knew this whole thing could be a dream. And the best way to see if you were in a dream was pain he smiled pulling her close.

 

As her teeth sank into him a familer but blissful pain woke him up more the pain was the mark he was looking for, it was like he woke up in a happy ending with all that happened in manity....He smiled

 

"you seemed to be malnourished love don't tell me they ran out of blood bottels for cort for you" he says pulling her closer for her to bit him more

"Blood bottles? Your being weird again Cres." She sank her fangs back into him, the taste was exquisite as usual nothing compared to him in her eyes she loved him more than anyting apart from her foals. Was that love that make ot taste better? She had no clue...

 

She was always gentle with him, never bitting hard unless he asked, as he aged on her she only became more gentle with her partner. Being naturally better than him physically in every way meant she always had to pull back. He asked her to go full ball one time, he came out of hospital a week later.

 

She held him close as she fed the pair always close as she did, quite a bonding process for wife and husband, vampire and prey...

as cresent moaned stroking the mare hair a sharp pain in his head happened like a nail being hamerd in running through his spine quick like a thunderbolt making his slowly drifintg eye shoot open as he herd in his head

 

"you fool!"

 

Cresnet cried out in pain moving back up his hoof reaching his head. It happened so fast and it was so sharp the pain in his head that for the 2nd time he found himself sweating.

Emerald stepped back from him. "You ok hun? I was being gentle like normal you normally don't cry out shall I get a doctor?" She looking at the pain on his face having no idea that she wasn't the cause of his cry of pain.

 

"Cres, honey answer me are you ok? Neee the doc?" She was so afraid of injuring him again. Has she sent him to the hospital again like last time she drank too much of him?

"its not you love just gah I don't know what that was about" he says rubbing his head.

 

seeing the worried look on her face he gave her a kiss "trust me hun no hospital for this bat is needed again" he said nuzzeling her wanting more of her bitting but then a knock on the door happened again

 

"who is it this time?" cresent asked

 

"my lord you have a visitor for you here and the young ones are with Xzavier" said a deep voice

 

"who's the guest" cresent asked

 

looking at the door then to his wife "didn't know we had visiters" he said

 

"my lord its coolwhip" said the voice then trotted off

"I don't think Coolwhip counts as a visitor..." She walks to Crescent and takes a cloth to wipe her muzzke and his neck. "Sorry for biting hun now you don't look decent." She rubbs the cloth on his bite mark. "I should stop feeding on you, it takes longer and longer for you to recover your not as young as you used to be." She gives him, a peck on the cheek.

 

She got a scarf and tied it around his neck. "There you look fine come, let's see what he wants."

@@Mentis Soliloquy, "oh come on I can take a good biting, if I can survive the blood trials anything cant take me" he says smiling giving a peck on her cheek.

 

Following his wife out of the bed room down the hallway and seeing coolwhip chatting with the kids at the dinner table

 

The stallion smiled giving a bro hug to Cresent "there's the king of the hour!"

 

Cresent blinked hugging his friend back, seeing him this cheerful was odd "well this is a surprise what brings you to the kingdom?"

 

"just got done with a case felt like stopping by after words checking up on my bat friend and morning emerald" he said bowing towards emerald.  

 

"well I just woke up so things are going smoothly" cresent said smiling nervously

 

"by the way I actually do have news" the stallion looks at the kids then to the patio cresent nods bringing coolwhip towards the patio patting Jrs mane on his way out playfully

 

"you don't come by this happy is everything all right?" cresent asked once out of ear shot of the kids

 

"there's going to be an attempt on your life soon" he said his odd happy face turning back into the familiar analyzing face cresent was used to

 

"well that's another Tuesday with hunters still gunning for me" cresent said leaning on the rail

 

Coolwhip raised an eyebrow "what hunters, maybe after emerald but not you my king" he said blinking a bit

 

"really last-" cresent paused remembering he's not a vampony any more. "i mean emerald being queen that's a typical Tuesday and all"

 

Coolwhip blinked then placed a hoof on cresents forhead "you hit the cider too hard again last night?"

Emerald walks past her kids. "Few moments my little ones."

 

She comes to them. "Coolwhip despite your intelligence you keep forgetting to speak out of my ear shot. When were you going to tell I have more lovely ponies who want to fight me? Why not dual me, it's a public practice and a legal one, but nooooo... has to be all shadows assassin shite." She shakes her head again. "They all forget I am shadow, meh more blood for me."

 

She looks at Coolwhip. "You think there somthing off with him too?" Looking at Crescent now. "You sure your ok honey?"

@@Mentis Soliloquy, "well emerald that's the thing the world already seen you in the coliseum with the blood triles" coolwhip said  

 

"you mean my blood trails" cresent said

 

coolwhip blinked at cresent "you didn't go through the blood trials emerald did, its how your family let her be queen. you sure your good cresent?" coolwhip began reading him

 

Cresent blinked looking out to the Manity skyline, emerald in the blood trials? That didn't makes sense as much of a fighter as emerald was after sparing with her in the past seeing her in that gauntlet he couldn't see happing.

 

A slap brought him back down to what was going on by coolwhip "that's it you, me, lab" the stallion said pulling cresent by the scarf Cresent slipped out of it "I'm fine guys seriously just....been sleeping off" cresent didn't realize the bite marks emerald made on him were visible.

 

Coolwhip sighed nodding his head to emeralds question then looked back at cresent "back to the main point carry on with your regular schedule the assassin will strike in 4 days and don't bother with the guard they have been noted by me. keep your gauntlet on you tho cres" coolwhip said turning away from the two

 

"ill be in touch" he called waving at the kids on his way out.

 

Cresent sat next to the rail bring a hoof to his head, "I'm sorry love, just...everything seems off I don't know why just..."

 

He looked at his lover "I'm not going mad right?" he says

"I hope your not going mad on me, I can't handle court 24/7 I think it would literally kill me." She looked at him with a worrying look. Then Jade landed on her. "Hello honey."

 

"Mom is somepony coming to hurt you again?"

 

"Yes sweetie, not to worry I always win don't I?"

 

"Yeah your the bestest fighter mommy in Mantiy!"

 

"Yes I am honey and I'm your mom, what is your brother up to?" Walking back to her son, passing another worried look at Crescent before smiling at Jr..

@@Mentis Soliloquy, Cresent looked at the skyline again was it all just a dream he lived in before hoof, maybe in a coma or something like it, he did know having kids see a worried mother was never a good thing for them. "daddy,  why is momy a vampony and your not?" a small voice said behind him. Cresent turned seeing Jr, the name fit him as he looked a miny version of cresent down to the eyes even. Cresent lowered himself to the colts level

 

"because Jr while there are many ponys in this world a vampony is as mystreous and wonderfull as the alicorns of this world" he said smilling at the colt

 

"but if jade is a vamp, and mommys a vamp, and your not a vamp, am I...am I.." the colt stuttered then whispered "a freak?"

 

Cresents heart sank seeing and hearing that. He went over to his son giving him a hug "your not a freak Jr you and your sister are the best ponys any parent could ask for" he said raising the colt up on his back nuzzeling the youngster  

 

"who calls you these things?" he asked

 

"no pony just, I hear blood all the time and its giving me a head ache" he says rubbing his head "do know how to make it stop, its annoying" he says pouting

Emerald and Jade came back over. "What was that Jr.? Can you hear daddies heart beat? If you can then you might be like me and your sister if that's the case." Jade walked over to Jr.

 

"So little bro is finally getting his fangs eh? I want to see his face when he drinks blood."

 

"Jade, that is not something good.."

 

"But we're vampires?"

 

"If I had a choice you would be a normal pegasus Jade nopony wants to be a vampony, but you know nothing else."

 

"So I'm bad?" A fearful look on her face.

 

"No honey, just life will be harder for you, dating when your older is going to be a nightmare."

(on mobil) Jr looked at his dad "daddy is dating scary?" he asked. Cresent chuckled "you don't need to worry about that yet Jr if me and your mother can teach you two about dating" he moved up kissing emerald "anything is possible but thats another story" he said giving his lover a wink and a nuzzel. He could see the hidden worry I'm her face so decided to focus on the kids. "So who's up for a night fly?" He said beaming at the two youngsters spreading his wings and nearing the railing of the patio "I do I do!" Jr said spreading his little wings trying to imitate his dad.

"Jade!..." She shook her head, she took after Crescent for the keen flyer trait, not that she did not enjoy using her wings. She walked over to Crescent brushing up by his side as she passed. "Come on boys let's go find Jade."

 

"None of you can catch Wonderbolt Jade!" Before zooming off past a cloud.

Cresent smiled letting Jr get a good grip it was clear who flew more out of the two twins but Cresent was surprised seeing Jr launched off the bat pony in a similar speed his sister flew. Cresent kicked up and soon was sky bound himself following the wake of his sons cloud trails. Soon shooting past him ducking and divng in between the kids "tag" he said taging his daughter then flying back around the cloud next to her. His son was neck and neck with his sister being more focused on beating her then the- poof! Jr found himself with a cloud beard "look daddy I'm old!" the colt laughed the clouds tickeling him then dove after the older stallion which surprised cresent. Usually he would be able to track him with his blood beats but no such sound he herd. It took getting use too hence the surprise attack from his daughter taging her brother then flew under him then around another cloud. Jr in a flash dived around Cresent after his sister laughing Cresent watched the two young ones play waiting for emerald yet flew behind them seeing the acrobatics of his children.
