He looked at everypony else, and sighed. "Yes, every single one of us could be a changeling. Even me. Wich kind of makes it a paradox. Carrot Top looked at him, halfway between amused that she could scare a Time Lord, and irritated of what the matter might be. "uh, hi again, Carrot Top! Wonderful day, is it not? I was wondering if I could have some of those fantastic carrots of yours for a salad of s--" "cut the act Doctor, I can see right through you. This better not have anything to do with Derpy." She gave him the most terrifying stare he ever received. "Err, no...?" He said, with a sheepish smile. "I mean, I'm pretty sure she's fine..." "Pretty sure?" She was now extending her neck towards him over the counter, ready to jump on him. "Yyyeeaaah, I don't really know where she is." "WHAT?!" The Doctor was overwhelmed by an orange wave, and before he knew it the mare had him pinned down. "WHAT HAPPENED?!" "It's not my fault!" He shouted in panic. "I just found a changeling at your house when I got there, and..." Carrot Top looked at him confused, and let him go. "Changelings? Those things that chased us at the wedding?" "Yes!" He was so relieved she stopped shouting at him, he started to smile, but stopped once he realized it wasn't the right moment. "hmm... Sorry." "Well, I arrived at your house, Ditzy answered the door, she didn't recognise me, I told her my name, aand she tried to kill me." "Is there ANYTHING that doesn't try to kill you?" He was surprised how two ponies in one day told him that already. "That really isn't important is it? What's important is finding her." She sighed. As much as she hated it, he was right. He's ALWAYS right. "sigh. Fine. Listen, we can't do this on our own. It's just to widespread of a search!" "And that's why we're gonna need help. Oh, hey there! Yoo hoo!" The Doctor got up from the café table and proceeded to walk to the two ponies he met earlier. Carrot Top sighed. All she could do was pay for the drink and follow. His happy look gone,he was clearly in a bad mood now. He notices a dead creature on the ground and a group of ponies heading out of town, away from the corpse. Confused, angry, and intrigued he decides to make a bold attempt to learn more. He runs in front of the group, stopping them dead in their tracks. He glares at the first pony he makes eye contact with, clearly upset. "Why did you execute that creature?" he asks with a tinge of concern. "I suppose that's justified" Gold Leaf says to Doctor Whooves, clearly not completely convinced the thing was out to kill. As Gold Leaf realizes these ponies are a friendlier bunch, he lets a small smile grace his lips. "I apologize for being so cruel in my greeting, the name is Gold Leaf" he explains calmly. That way, we'll be sure it knows where the prisoners go." Carrot Top looked skeptically at the brown colt, but he didn't notice. She eventually got tired and spoke her mind: "If they've been here a long time, that means they must have really fitted in, so how are we supposed to know if they're the real ones or not?" The Doctor looked at her, smiling. "You've always been the smart one, Carrot Top." She smiled at herself in pride, but quickly went back to her skeptical look. "Don't change the subject."
