It's really nothing new. And without spoiling anything, there will be no Zombie Apocalypse. Not a veyr big fan of them shoving fan references at us like that. But yeah different tones to each season. Just wish they didn't make applejack so stupid. like her line about discount hat store in Saddle row like really..she not stupid she southern stop using that sterotype. I can see where some of the other concepts would lead to decent episodes, but out of all of them ... 28 Pranks Later is not one of them. That will likely be a goofy fluff episode, and I guarantee it won't be dark. Not sure of Tabitha was confused with the question or forgot that Saddle Row Review had already aired ... but if they do another Rarity episode with a unique framing device ... I am all in. The show's been there and done that, and I generally don't think it's a sustainable mix, especially since much of what makes the show interesting is not contained in darker subject matter. Season 6 isn't my favorite season, but there has been a few stand out moments such as The Saddle Row Review, Gauntlet of Fire, Flutter Brutter, and A Heart's Warming Tale. Plus the second half is looking like it will be a lot more interesting which is something that I expected after what happened with season 5. Also letting the side cannons out a little is a good move if they ask me, adds more depth to the whole layout of the world and fandom. I like the fact that the show has started to make episodes the appeal to the older side of the fandom, while still having episodes that younger ones enjoy. The show needed to broaden itself in order to not just attract new fans but keep current ones entertained, which is difficult to do once shows reach this many seasons. I feel like the show never would have made it this far with Faust at the helm. It would never make it this far, because it would be in a different location entirely. I'm no diehard Faust supporter, but I do wonder what may have happened if she was able to add the more "adventure" feel she was originally planning. All of the future episodes have very interesting premises that intrigue me in some way . Season 6 continues with its tonal shift that I feel has been present since season 5. We are now at point where FIM is not afraid to tackle themes that are intended for a much older demographic. Never in my wildest dreams would I be able to imagine an episode of My Little Pony depicting what it is like to attend a convention ! Foxy Socks 2,599 July 28, 2016 Share July 28, 2016 I agree, I love the show either way, if it shows how Rarity and Applejack fight over a sleepover, or how Sombra nearly takes over the Crystal Empire again. I really am excited for the changeling episode too. Really looks like a sweet episode, if the changeling (which will likely hopefully) is reformed. There was a good changeling in Slice of Life, but still cool to see that, and of course other episodes like Dungeons and Discord. Hopefully the new elements and the comedy will be sharper going forward. That's something they can afford to do given that most of the story and character arcs that this show developed have been closed. The first half of the season felt like it was getting stale and playing it too safe, but now we're off to a great start with "Stranger Than Fan Fiction".
