Beebarb, Equestria Daily moderator, passes away

Equestria Daily has its share of staff. One of whom is Beebarb, who started off as just your usual EQD commentator and member before being promoted to moderator. I don't know him, but his comments in the Nightly Discussions show us a cheerful attitude.

Recently, Beebarb passed away from health-related complications (according to his brother, a seizure).

Here's the post, written in memoriam, by fellow staffer and friend Octavia.

My response on EQD is this:

To say this caught me off-guard is a major understatement. I didn't see much activity from him outside the Nightly Discussions, but he always seemed to have a very cheerful attitude. Now that he's gone…that fast…comes as an enormous shock. I'm at a loss for words.

Octavia, I can tell through your post that your heart's broken right now. I'm so, so sorry. Prayers to Beebarb's friends and family, and may his spirit and joy live on.

I'm still at a loss for words. :( Thoughts and prayers to Beebard and his family.

If you wish to pay his respects directly, here's his DA page.

RIP, Beebarb.

Whether you knew them personally or not, it's always saddening when you hear that someone has passed away. Based on the comments, Beebarb brought joy to the hearts of many in this community and he will be dearly missed.

Its so fucking hard to comprehend a persons death, even though millions die every day. It always seems a bit more devastating and shocking when it is a member of your own community, online or not.

Especially since people online are usually so young, its so much more sad because they had their whole life ahead of them. They had so much to accomplish, and so much they could have done.

The joy and entertainment Beebarb had brought the MLP community will live in our hearts forever, even if we never knew him.

I really can't say much as I never even heard of the guy; nor was aware of how big the staff at EqD was, but it's a damn shame to see someone die like that. My condolences to his family, friends, and fellow staffers at EqD. :(

Beebarb and I met back in early 2015 and although we didn't talk a whole lot, we were still friends. When he became a mod back in February, I thought he seemed like a good choice. While I can still see why some people avoid discussions, I do think things weren't as messy after he was brought on. He really helped a lot. I knew he had epilepsy, but I didn't think his health issues were this bad. I can't believe he's gone.

Also, if you don't have a DeviantArt, another way to pay respects directly is by tweeting him.

It is never nice when somebody passes and it's especially sad when that person was still so young. But we should never grief about the death about the individual. We will miss him yes, but we should celebrate his accomplishments in live and he obviously made alot of people feel good, with his cheerful attitude and that is what really counts and i am sure Beebarb is now at peace.

RIP Beebarb

Sending my prayers. I never really knew this amazing guy, but it's so sad to lose him nonetheless...

I send my condolences to his family and friends; he seemed like wonderful person, and may he rest in peace. :( This is such a shame, but I'm glad that he got to be part of and contribute well to a community he loved.

I never knew him, as I rarely go to EQD, but regardless, it's sad to lose someone, especially when they are so young. My heart goes out to him and his family.

I'm glad to see you chime in Pinkie. I didn't personally know Beebarb, and I rarely comment as I prefer to lurk there. I know you mostly from EqD as a regular ... and the same went for Beebarb.

I have had a fair share of smiles from some of his comments. About a week ago he posted something amusing about the uselessness of one of the new Pokemon skills ... if I ever do pick up Sun or Moon I won't help but hear his voice when I see WIMP OUT used.

I'm going to miss his personal touches in the ND.

I didn't have the pleasure of knowing him, but everyone who passes leaves a void behind that isn't easily filled. My condolences to his family and all who knew him. The lives he touched and the positive influences he's made are a great legacy to be proud of. God bless you, Beebarb. Rest in peace.
