spoiler What do you expect this season's finale will be?

So, here's a question: What do you think the S6 finale for the season will be?

We have a pretty good idea of its name (Its not 100% confirmed, but the rest of the Leaked titles list seems to be true, so I think "To where and back again" has a very good chance of being the actual name of the finale), and there seems to be a changeling subplot going on with one showing up at the end of the premier and then the times are a changeling; So I think there's a good chance it will involve Chrysalis again. Likewise, there's a good chance we'll get flurry heart as a central figure.

So what do you expect for the finale?

Hey @@Unlikeable Pony, since your thread's got a spoiler tag, a spoiler prefix was added to it too, just letting ya know~

Considering how much hinting we've been getting at Changelings, I wouldn't be surprised to see Chrysalis return as a villain. I'd actually really like that, she's one of my favorites! I just hope she's not redeemed, I'd like her to stay evil and psychotic. I wonder if that Changeling, the one that Spike befriends, gets a supporting role? Like infiltrating the Changeling ranks to help the Mane 6 somehow.

Regardless, I'm excited! I didn't really like Starlight as a villain, so my last "wow that was awesome" moment with a premiere/finale was way back with Twilight's Kingdom. :P

changelings thats all ima say bout that. now to new things there has been a theme in S6 about your dreams coming true so far we have twilight as a teacher, rainbow dash as a official wonderbolt, and rarity with boutiques across equestria all tho maybe not all across. we still have yet to see pinkie, applejack, and fluttershys dreams but if that theme stays in line then maybe it could be something about how they relise that some odd years ago they only dreampt of were they are now and that may tie in to the changelings and such but i really hope they stick with that theme and have it as sorta the last thing we see of S6 that the mane 6 finally accomplished their dream and how does starlight glimmer come into this i duno she hasnt been used alot this season so who know

Gonna jump in the same boat as the people above me and say I expect Changelings.

Perhaps with the events of the season 2 finale, the presumed episode title and confirmation of at least one Changeling returning, I suspect that the S6 finale could be about Chrysalis' revenge plot against Princess Cadance and Shining Armor that may involve Flurry Heart in one way or another (probably kidnapping and taking her somewhere far away, judging from the title). And maybe Starlight will come in handy in this adventure/quest when it comes to fighting Chrysalis, given her magical prowess I've seen so far.

We will all laugh at Haber’s inglorious attempt at writing action adventure. Fortunately enough, the descent of Glimmercorn is yet to manifest itself within the current of causality, but I’m sharpening my own insanely huge frying pan just in case.

There is a high chance of changelings, though I just ain’t feeling it from the presented title. It reads like they’ll be going to someplace more dank than ling country. I’m putting my keks on Manehattan!

I'm hoping that they pull a stunt like they did for Twilight Sparkle in the season 4 finale. Let's face it: Starlight Glimmer has severely been underused this season. Maybe this is build-up for her plot in the finale. I mean, I have heard that Starlight will have to earn her throne in Twilight's castle, so maybe the finale will tie into that.

I don't think "Dreams of the mane six" is truly the theme of the season; Rather its just they're continuing to advance the dreams of Rarity and RD like they have each season.

That being said, I REALLY would like for the crew to give the other 3 some ambitions in life; its starting to really drag down their episodes variety that they don't have as much for the show writers to spice things up with like the other 3; AJ has a bad habit of devolving into "Family episode that's actually about Granny smith and not her" for example.

Eh, they've given starlight a crapton of screentime (the last 2 two parters have revolved around her, and she's gotten A hearth's warming tale and no second prances so far, and I wouldn't doubt there will be another starlight episode this season PLUS the finale). If they are STILL "underusing" her at this point with all the screentime and focus she's getting, then its kind of Pouring good money after bad money: I.E., she's got a SHITTON of resources put towards "making her work" and if she STILL isn't working out after this season, that points more towards a core problem that can't be solved just by throwing more screentime at her.

Anyways, to respond to my own question:

I expect that chrysalis will steal Flurry heart and there will be a plan revolving around her; I'm expecting she'll be stolen along with the crystal heart because the changelings have no way of controlling the crystal heart on their own to access its love, but they will be trying to use Flurry heart as a "key" to access it for themselves to feed off of.

We'll then get a plot of the mane six embarking on a trek to try and save Flurry heart with Starlight tagging along moping and wangsting the entire time about "not being one of the group/EOH" the whole time in a "i don't belong" manner, the group will reach where chrysalis is, she'll be Hax powerful due to the crystal heart, Curb stomp the mane six, And then Starlight glimmer will godmode somehow to save the day and Defeat chrysalis, get a throne, and the episode wraps up like The crystal empire did, with a song praising Starlight like there was a song praising twilight as the end of that episode.

Yeah, like, this how I think it's gonna go down: I expect the changelings to attack the Crystal Empire along with an alliance with other evil creatures, the Mane Six want to try to reason with them, and Twilight doesn't want Starlight to come because Twilight thinks she would go straight to the battle without even reasoning. So the Mane Six and the princesses and an army of guards go to the empire without her, but Spike offers to stay behind cause he feels bad for her.

In the Mane Six's side of things, negotiations don't go well anyway, so of course they get captured and this is when they realize Queen Chrysalis has sided with other other creatures, so everypony gets incapacitated. Chrysalis plans to drain the crystal heart, and the love within Flurry Heart.

In Starlight and Spike's side of things, Starlight starts to feel betrayed because she thinks Twilight doesn't trust her enough to handle negotiations as well, saying she's not yet ready for that kind of commitment. Spike tries to tell her that this isn't Twilight's intention to hurt her like that; so Starlight thinks about running away, but Spike tries to stop her, and Starlight thinks he's only saying that because that's what Twilight might want, but he says no that's not true, he's stopping her cause HE needs her. Saying he's never had a friend he's had more in common with, like putting others in risk for their own selfish benefits.

So after a tearworthy, personal conversation, Starlight decides to stay, but not just that, she gets an idea of the both of them getting together with the friends they made this season, like Trixie, Ember, and Spike's changeling friend (who's already in the empire at the time, disguised as Flurry Heart to trick Chrysalis), along with Sunburst who actually returns to the castle to tell Starlight what has happened in the empire, so them along with an army of dragons try to take back control of the empire! Twilight and the Mane Six join in to help out. When Chrysalis finds out her side is losing, desperate times called for desperate measures, so she immediately decides to completely drain Flurry Heart's magic, but of course this Flurry Heart is the good changeling! Chrysalis gets super-mad so she decides to punish him by using her magic on him; until Spike steps in the way and pushes him aside, causing Chrysalis' magic to hit him instead, and then Spike gets completely vaporized! Ooooo, can this happen in a kid's show? Only if it's a trick, it can! ;) Turns out Spike just got teleported to the captured princesses inside the castle. The only one not trapped is the real Flurry Heart, so she was pretty much their only hope of finding out so they can get rescued, but of course Shining and Cadance would disagree at first, but realize they have no choice.

Everypony else outside feel sorrow since they thought Spike was gone for good. Twilight breaks down in tears, Rarity faints, and Starlight becomes enraged! Her magic becomes stronger with her anger, so she starts having an epic battle with Chrysalis! The Mane Six decide to join in the battle again, but after seeing Flurry Heart, Pinkie realizes Flurry is trying to tell them where the others are captured (since Pinkie speaks baby it seems ;) ). So Twilight sends the Mane Five to rescue them, while she tries to stop Starlight from overusing her magic. When Chrysalis gets struck down by Starlight, she wants to end her once and for all, but Twilight comes to save the day. Twilight's last friendship lesson to Starlight: the loss of a friend doesn't mean she should let her emotions take control of her to things she might regret later, much like a reference to the season 5 finale! That's when Starlight decides to stop, and the suddenly free princesses and royal guards come to arrest Chrysalis, and the remaining changelings and evil creatures in the empire that did not flee or decide to join the ponies against Chrysalis.

After a personal tearful moment with Twilight and Starlight after they thought they lost Spike, he shows up which makes them feel so relieved! Starlight gets concerned to what her next friendship lesson might be, but it turns out there was nothing more Twilight could teach her. She already showed true friendship, and knows she could use her magic for good now! Starlight wonders what's next for her then, but luckily Trixie was around to offer her a full-time job as her assistant, and perhaps teach her what Twilight has taught her! Twilight knows that she made a big impact in Equestria, because now everypony is asking for friendship lessons! Which leads to season 7! ;) Of course Starlight will return with her own episodes from time to time, much like Discord is now!

Wow, I had no clue I was typing down a whole story! XD Well this is sometimes what I do in my freetime, think about the future of MLP, or the future of other shows and games I like! ^_^

Hopefully not as shit as the last one. Also, the show doesn't do overarching plots well so it's hard to predict what they're "leading up to." My guess is they'll just come up with some random villain and roll with that.

There are 3 speculations that I want to see in the S6 finale:

1) Starlight betraying the Mane Six a la Revenge of the Sith (YES)

2) Discord/Star Swirl theory (DOUBLE YES)

3) Cliffhanger (HELL YES!)

I have a feeling The Times They Are A Changeling will start a changeling arc that lasts the rest of the season. In the finale, Starlight Glimmer will be the heroine who not only defeats Queen Chrysalis, but also reforms her.

I don't know, but I sure as hell don't want it to end with Chrysalis being reformed.

As long as that doesn't happen, I will be okay with whatever happens in the finale.

That would probably be the worst thing the show could do at this point.

That would pretty much cement her forever in MLP history as the MOST HATED CHARACTER EVER. XD

Starlight's already on thin ice with alot of fans, and people already think there's too many reformations in the show; plus Fans LOVE chryssy as a villain, making her probably the one villain who fans would go APESHIT about her being reformed.

If Glimmer reformed Chrysalis, it would simultaneously piss off legions of fans over chrysalis being "ruined" while also putting the onus of the action DIRECTLY at Starlight's feet, making her responsible for "ruining" chrysalis while ALSO making her seem like a sue due to reforming an utterly unrepentant monster against all odds.

the butthurt and hatred at Starlight would be unlike ANYTHING seen up to this point.

agreed. I don't think we have much to fear though; she's the mane villain for the upcoming guardians of harmony toy line (This wave at least), and they kind of depend on her being a vile villain to insure that line's success.

1) Starlight betraying the Mane Six a la Revenge of the Sith (YES)

Eh, the only way I'd see that happening would be if she suddenly regretted her actions halfway through and did a heel face turn to save them all at the last second. They're not going to turn her permanently evil after all the "She's really good guys!" episodes we've had. She's not even lapsing like discord did, she's 100% super enthusiastic about being good.

Agreed.

To me, Queen Chrysalis just doesn't look like the kind of character that should be reformed. While I wouldn't mind another reformation, I personally like her evil and villainous as she is and she really should stay that way.

Of course, if Hasbro decides to do it, by all means they may go right ahead... But it would be a very risky move since reformation of Chrysalis can and will destroy her character and piss off many, many fans unless they by some miraculous chance do it in a way that works for everyone (or most). So I really hope they don't reform her.

Personally, I also would rather Chrysalis should remain a villain.  The same goes for Tirek.

Would be nice for once not having a villain reformed, but not beeing all evil on the other side. Better said, no rainbow explosion and she shines rainbows but showing she isn't overly evil either. Rather like "evil to help family". Mayby she learned from her mistake?

Mayby Celestia and Chrysalis have a tea talk while in background everypony gets secretly replaced with changelings, a sly invasion.
