Could Earth Ponies use a magic amulet?

Makes sense, i did hear earth ponies have a kind of earth magic though its not  really explained in the show.

In my opinion even if an earth pony got a magic amulet they wouldn't be able to perform spells, because they need to be chanelled by horn. I guess it would maybe enhance their abilities related to nature and overall strength, but they couldn't levitate or blast badass flames and such

This is good  to know. As i am still in a process of making a pony oc but i don't really want it to break the rules of MLP and there are already ( too many ? ) alicorn pony oc's

I'm fine with alicorn oc's myself as long as there is point in making them. Making an alicorn oc that is just a typical pony is kinda senseless. I've seen oc forest princesses and it is a nice example. Alicorns should be taking care of something bigger like harnessing the power of nature, emotiong (like Cadence) or other powerful things. Consider this while making an OC so you don't add the wings or horn for no reason ^^

Good question. Probably depends on what the amulet was enchanted to do. If it's just a magic supply, then I'm guessing no. Earth and Pegasus Pony magic is passive, right? I think they would need something to focus the magic with like a wand.

I think these types of amulets might be exclusive to unicorns. While Earth and Pegasus ponies have their own type of magic, amulets are most likely only activated by unicorn magic.

Well, the show kind of establishes that Earth Ponies have magic, but they have no way to channel it as spells. Same with pegasi. I don't think that enhancing their magic with an amulet would change that. They still wouldn't have a way to cast a spell. The amulet might enhance their strength or ability to grow plants or other things that Earth ponies can do.

Regarding the Alicorn Amulet itself, according to a book the Mane 6 find, it blesses the wearer with "untold powers." But we're never told what those untold powers are; we just see how they manifest in Trixie.

 

Even for other unicorns the amulet may very well manifest differently. Trixie's talent is after all magic, so its equally likely that it enhanced her talent rather than her racial ability. Likewise, its very possible that the amulet would enhance other users according to their abilities, racial or otherwise, perhaps even non-ponies. Imagine if Lord Torch wielded the Alicorn Amulet...

An earth pony might gain super strength perhaps, maybe even growing bigger in the process like the way that Tirek did. So they'd be a giant pony with mega strength even tho they couldn't do magic, they'd still be hard to beat.

Depends on how you view the amulet; if its a blanket Magical amplifier, then it would work on their earth pony magic. If it was an amulet specifically for casting spells, then no.

I tend to think that the alicorn amulet is a blanket amplifier that would work on any race of ponies (Alicorns having all the racial traits), so a pegasi would become super fast/good at flight, while an earth pony would basically be saddle rager.

Earth ponies Do have magic, i mean ithas been stated and shown. like Aj able to buck a tree and able to get all apples to fall si due the the earth pony magic. it more passive then glowing. same thing with peigus and cloud walking thing really.
