just a quick question i was just told i can use the debate pit however i can't post anything everything just says "this topic is locked" 

have i some how been banned? whats happened?

You need to have at least 100 posts to post in debate pit.

That's somewhat asinine particularly when i have to sit there and watch people making bs claims both about my profession and the professions of my friends and say that they're robotic monsters who want to kill all minorities for no reason and i some one actually educated on the subject and know the inner workings am not allowed to say anything

At 40 posts you may "view" the debate pit. The idea is to lurk a bit and learn the ropes before you can start posting at 100 posts. Learn from the other people there,  get a feel for what's acceptable there and when you get in you'll be able to contribute.

@@Key Sharkz was correct. This policy can be confirmed here. In the past the restriction was 40 posts only, however we are trying to simultaneous improve open discussion as well as prevent trolls that quick post to access hot topic areas. This change was actually requested by the community. Rules are more strictly enforced in debate pit as well, so it is for the benefit of the member to ease themselves into it.
