Hello every pony!

Sorry for any that replied to my older post for spots open, I haven't checked back in a while and just now noticed that the forum was cleared.

Well, I'm still here and still looking for 3 other spots. I have a reservation already and I have attended BABSCon 2016 and went really well with the con itself and the past roommates.

The situation is the same for what I'm looking for, so you know ahead of time, I'm looking for clean, quiet, respectful roommates and prospective people that are looking for the same.

(side note: I do give areas in the room, like the bathroom and bedside areas a little wipe down with sanitary wipes when checking in, to reduce chances to pick up any bugs. Seemed to work last time. So some hygiene is appreciated.)

I sleep early and get up early, no later than midnight and up at least by 8, so I would need other roommates that would prefer a good nights rest as well. Basically a room to be kept private between the roommates so to take a break, or nap if needed. So I wouldn't be looking for parties and prefer no drinks, smoking and things of the sort.

My reservation is 4 nights, check-in being a day before the event and check-out by noon of the day after, so it would be the 13th-17th. I would need roommates that would be okay with staying all those days and nights, to split the costs evenly. The room will likely be on the higher floors, which seems to be much quieter and I'll try to get a convenient spot neat the elevators.

I did have a bit of an issue with a con goer that wasn't prepared to share the room with 3 other guys, so please be aware of that and there is only two beds, two people will have to sleep on the floor. The hotel does not provide cots, so please be aware of that as well and have something comfortable to lay on.

This thread is for roommates that would want to share a room reservation at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, held at the upcoming 2017 BABSCon for April 14-16.

i have never been to a convention before but im planing to go to 2017 bronycon :P

tho it would seem both are quite out of reach... (i live in Australia)

Lucky in my opinion, I admire Australia a lot, but please, absolutely do attend one, at least once. It's an experience to be had. The fandom is great and being there with so many of the other ponies is pretty exciting. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I've seen how others felt about going to one and I feel like I was missing out and I was right. It's like a non-stop party and you get to do it around horse famous people from the show, the fandom and all the other con goers that are really sweet. It gives you a much better appreciation for the work that people put in for the fans and to the show.

I was thinking too, if you can't go to one locally, which is much easier, but if you want to go to one all the way up in the States, there's not gonna be a quick and easy way to make that travel. It's gonna take a lot of work and planning.

I would first plan essential stuff before trying anything else, like what are the regulations to travel over sees and you'll need to get a passport put together and other things are required. Like if you're traveling over seas under 18 I don't know if there are other documents you'll need. Knowing which con you want to go and figuring out how to get around locally, like by busses/taxies and what's in the area for food.

After figuring all that out I'd give yourself an entire year to save up, any shorter time might be too difficult. So if there's a con a year from now, try aiming for that one. I'm guessing from where you are, in total, you want to save $250-$300 a month for a year to get around $3000. That's should be enough for travel, lodge, food and spending money. If you can get full time work, that'd be your best bet. Since you're young you could try two jobs for just a month, or two, just short term so you don't burn yourself out, cause it's tough on your body. Be aware that some jobs do frown on moonlighting, but with two jobs, you might get 1/3 of the way to savings in just a month, or two.

So it'll be tough, but I think doable. When traveling, try to find the cheapest way you can find, which will take a little research too.

theirs the problem because regarding Australian bronycons i think there was one in 2012 and 2014 but sadly i wasn't a bronie at the time, what i did find however is

2017 will be the farewell to our beloved Australian grown My Little Pony convention, with that, we will surely make it one to remember! To celebrate all the wonderful years, the fandom itself has inspired us to pick our theme; CARNIVAL!

im not really inspired by the theme but i'll still try to go seeing as its the last ;-;, but im very determined to go to the big one in Baltimore :P as for BABScon i think that's a bit out of the way :P hope you have fun there

That sounds great! I'm glad you'll try to make it to one. If you'd want to share your Twitter, I'd like to see what happens.

It's been a few months since you posted this. Are there still 3 spots open?

If so, I would be interested.

Hay! Sure! And no worries. I guess it's pretty early still, I've been sparsely checking myself, but now I'd guess it's getting a bit closer now and I haven't forgotten. Do you think you'd be okay with what I'm looking for?

Eeyup. My only major requirement of roommates is good sleep schedule, and I naturally meet all of your other requirements, so I suppose that is an affirmative on all accounts.

I will PM you so we can continue conversation privately.

I sent you a PM the other day about this very thing, not realizing that you already had this thread up. If you still have a spot open, I'd be up for taking it. I'm planning to do much the same as last year: all four nights, plus one extra at a different hotel nearby so I can do a little poking around.

Side note: the beds are big enough to accommodate two people each. The one in my bedroom is the same size, a double, and can hold two of me easily.

Unfortunately I'm only staying Friday-Monday, and not Thursday night as well.

Also, it looks like your older post was initially hidden by mistake (I think it was confused as a post from last year). Would you like me to un-hide it?

If you're still only staying for partial days, I'm still open and have one spot left.

I actually misspoke; I'm staying Thursday - Sunday nights, and leaving Monday. Does that still work? Is that how long your reservation goes for?

Also I'll be arriving at about 1:00 am on Friday. Is that still alright with you?

Oh! Yeah, that's much like how I'll arrive, I would be there a day before, on the 13th and check out at noon on day after, on the 17th, so that sounds like that would be perfect. If you arrive at 1 am, that would be okay, I would already be there, as I'm sure the others, I could let the others know to expect you around that time. Typically I go to sleep around 11.

My reservation would be the from the 13th and checkout on the 17th.

Hello! Oh sorry I let that one go for so long. Well, I'm working out final plans, waiting to hear a response back from someone, for the last spot. I think hopefully no more than a couple days from this message. I should hear back and I'll let you know what they say. I'll keep you in mind if nothing happens. So for now I'm still open on someone else interested if this last spot falls through. I should know soon.

Just wanted to check on the room status...  I'll be working the con again this year, and have only gotten around to actually looking for a room recently.

That one spot is still available if you want it.
