The future of EQG films.

....I AM SUPER HYPED FOR!

:P   :sunbutt:

Okay, okay. I know many of you might have clicked this link thinking "oh boy someone else to hate on the fourth film and its sub-par animation, silly story, or WHATEVER!

WeeeeeeeeEEEEeeeell, your out of luck pup! I for one am HYPED beyond all my 30 years of adult bliss! Allow me to explain WHY!

So the first three films are your typical character, environment, and plot set up to get the toy line and fan base established. The money was dumped in, the voice acting was payed over time for, and the animation was top of the line (at least in 2 and especially 3). I personally feel we can all agree upon that the second film was the peak of villain creation in the FILM series and has a lot of live up to. (Think Zira or Gaston vs well..anything else from the Disney fame.)

But what of this fourth film? So after watching the sneak peaks (Thank you Pinkie pie on youtube!) I-M-O, I see NOTHING wrong with the current animation choices. (The new outfits for the girls are killer, here comes the cosplayers!!) The VA work is top notch (Damn Tabatha I do adore you! Go Rarity go!!) And I ALREADY, want to shove my foot up the camp councilors brother/sister butts!

But all of this IS ALREADY KNOWN, why make a NEW thread?

I am excited for one reason! And that reason is, all of the hyper-drama based around Sunset, is OVER! Now we can slip into a more episodic style film series based around "normal" high school things...with some equestrian magic sprinkled in...( Diamond shaped force fields anyone! Squeeee!).

My point is thus. The first film was hoped to capture a huge theater turn out. It got it...from the Bronies, not the kids. The second film was like the fourth season of the show, "Ok crap we gotta retool this for the adults to love, not so much for the 6 year old girl" They nailed it! The third film was ment to really tug at your heart strings for a character you unknowingly where falling in love with (lets face it, we all love Sunset at this point). The money was made, the franchise is ESTABLISHED. What was left? Make a TV show!...wait...Scratch that, lets wrap up s6 of mlp:fim, put out s7, then end that show with the 2017 film (my opinion of hasbros buisness plan). Buuuuut, instead of the money and time working on an EQG tv series, lets just put out a yearly film with lesser plots but the same characters the fans love. Thusly keeping things like Brony.con relevant into the late 2000-teens. And of course, selling toys.

Listen folks, MLP:Fim is on its way to wrapping up, its been a wild ride but with at most two  years left in the gas tank...well..I am happy to see that EQG film series is just warming up!

Pony on!

I think that if season 6 is the final season of MLP FIM, than Legend of the Everfree will be the final EQG movie.

Hopefully afterwords we could finally get a tv series out of the franchise or at least a 13 episode mini series.

I still believe s7 will be the final season, the 2017 film comes out in Nov of next year, perfect to have a season lead up to it and the film be the nail in the coffin.

Shame to see the series go, but honestly it should end on a high note (a full length movie).

But really, the EQG has alot left in the tank for Hasbro to milk. Think about all the crap you did in highschool that was based around activities or events. Shoot my senior trip was to an amusment park (six flags) for an entire day, BOOM movie plot! In junior year we as a class took a week off of school to help clean up and repair a local homeless shelter (BOOM movie plot!).

A mini series of "films" would be good, then we could get stuff like "Oh Fluttershy's folks are out of town, lets party!" or "Sunset buys a motorcycle and gets in an accident!". You know, real teenager stuff, that isnt pony based but still have the magical element....i miss you Sailor Moon!

Then I would recommend the W.I.T.C.H comics. It has almost the full high school magic girl experience. Luckily they have been fan-translated.

As for EG, they can do anything like an entire movie about a costume party at a mansion with a helping of supernatural shenanigans.
