So, we know that Gloriosa is going to be a big new character in the movie; and we also know now that she seems to be Spruce's sister, and he seems to be normal and trapped by Gaia in the middle of the movie with everyone else.

Looking at some of the images, it also looks like gaia and Gloriosa are one and the same as well, as most people theorized.

I'm thinking that, based on how Gaia was covered in crystals when she shows up near the climax, and there's a giant cave full of Crystals that twilight and Sunset find, that Gaia isn't a "being" so much as those Crystals that they find, and she (gaia) has to possess hosts via those crystals: This would explain why Gloriosa seems to be a normal girl but also seems to be gaia at the same time. It would also explain why she seems to have a long history in the area going back to olden times despite Gloriosa having a brother that's pretty young.

Looking at how Gloriosa has a necklace of crystals that she wears (Nice easter egg having it have the colors of the other six besides twilight and sunset), I'm betting gloriosa finds one of Gaia's crystals, puts it on her necklace, and gets gradually corrupted by Gaia and driven to use more and more crystals until Gaia possesses her fully. (Probably with gaia telling her she could "save the camp" if she used more crystals)

Added spoiler tag and make title change to better accommodate multiple IPB blocks and platforms.

I definitely think that that Gloriosa is the antagonist (but what form of an antagonist I haven't decided yet). Also, really really good catch on the necklace.

I'm wondering if the other 5 might know and be friends with gloriosa from a past camping trip based on the necklace (since they might have made it together with her in the past)

That is really interesting.

Especially with the catching of the necklace.

With how much focus that crystals have in the marketing, I wouldn't be surprised if what you suggested happens.

Plus with how Midnight Sparkle seems to have a role in the film, having Gloriosa being possessed by Gaia Everfree could be something that would happen in the film.

It would be able to tie into Sci Twi's story arc, and seeing how Sunset Shimmer also went through that, she could also get involved.

My only concern would be that it would end up being to similar to the end of FG, but with human Twilight in the role of Sunset and Gloriosa.

But hey it would still be less repetitive than yet another villain reformation.

Based on the most recent trailer with Timber and Gloriosa's antagonism towards each other, I'm starting to wonder about things again; I'm kind of starting to think that the conflict might be more revolving around the two of them fighting as siblings with the two of them resolving their issues being the climax of the movie.

After viewing the latest trailer, I'm starting to consider that Gloriosa could be Gaia Everfree because of the hostility between her and Timber, but seeing as we don't have much to work on right now, I'll have to keep speculating on it.

I would rather have the movie be about what you originally theorized than this.

I feel like it would make for a much more interesting film.

Yeah, true. I think a straight forward plot is best, and focusing on the magic as the central focus is your best bet. But Looking at timber and gloriosa, I can't help but feel there won't be some sort of plot about the two of them fighting.

Maybe Timber tries to sell the camp to Filthy rich rather than go bankrupt and lose it anyways?
