The clips sold me on LOE

The trailer was highly unimpressive, showcasing a generic camp teen drama, but holy crap did the 5 clips reverse my opinion. The dialogue was so... natural for an EG film, not to mention some really gripping scenes (especially Twilight's nightmare).

 

I cannot believe I'm saying this but this could be a spectacular movie even on its own merits.

I'll watch it.  I'll enjoy it.  I'll grumble the whole way through about lore and continuity.  That's how I am with EG.  I pretend they don't exist, but I'll watch em anyway because I start jonesing bad for cute and colorful.  When it comes to EG, I'm like die hard Star Wars fans with The Phantom Menace.  They'll say it's rotten garbage, but they'll pre-order some deluxe blu-ray anniversary addition anyway because, hey, it's Star Wars!

I have been a fan of the EQG franchise sense the first movie, and I was always interested in seeing Legend of the Everfree.

Heck, I was even more looking forward to it than season 6 when it was first announced.

I am pretty sure that I am going to enjoy it.

I wouldn't be surprised if I like it more than a good amount of FIM episodes.

But than again I would argue that even the soundtrack to Rainbow Rocks is more enjoyable than certain episodes to come out of the series.

These clips made me smile. This film is the break away from the "Sunset Trilogy". She-has-arrived! Sunset IS the core of EQG, we know that, we get it! And we LOVE IT!

 

But THIS film...

 

This film has me squeeing!

 

Finally the movie series is going episodic! Now we are over the Sunset arch, we can see things that are more fluid and natural for Highschool students...mixed with sillyness from equestria in the form of banned villians or escaped voodoo!

 

If this fanbase DIES tomorrow. So be it. I will miss the rants and silly memes. But MLP has been in my life since 1989, EQG since 2013. I say keep the ball rolling. Shit, World of Warcraft is like going on 12 years old and folks still nerd out over that! Give me more "boring" stuff Hasbro, I am ok with the direction of EQG!

That and the more focus on the cast dealing with new magical abilities, sold me onto the film.

I've enjoyed what I've seen from these clips thus far and I'm thoroughly looking forward to the full film come October 1st.
